Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Palisade Tucson, 2023 Sonata, Elantra, and Kona vehicles. The electronic controller for the Idle Stop & Go oil pump assembly may contain damaged electrical components that can cause the pump controller to overheat.
Risk: An electric oil pump assembly that overheats increases the risk of a vehicle fire.
Fix: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will inspect and replace the electric oil pump controller, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed starting September 7, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 246.

Component: AIR BAGS:SENSOR:OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION:FRONT PASSENGER
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2024 Palisade vehicles equipped with dark premium suede seats. The Occupant Detection System (ODS) may fail to detect an occupant and deactivate the passenger-side front air bags. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
Risk: Deactivated front passenger air bags will not deploy as intended, increasing the risk of injury during a crash.
Fix: Dealers will update the ODS software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 26th, 2023. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 249.

Risk: A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. A hole in the engine block increases the risk of a fire.
Fix: Dealers will replace the engine sub-assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed by December 6, 2024. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 255.
NHTSA Campaign: 25V607000

Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch.
Risk: Seat belt buckles that fail to latch may not properly restrain occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Fix: Passengers are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning October 23, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated June 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 283. Seat Belts, seats →2 issues
You're concerned that the seat belts in the second row and third row of your Palisade may not provide adequate safety in an accident, especially for your young children. Seat Belts →2 issues
Your seat belts have been part of a recall for over a year with no resolution. This needs immediate attention from the manufacturer to provide working seat belts before the vehicle is safe to drive with passengers.

Air Bags, forward Collision Avoidance →1 issue
Your radar cruise control system failed to brake properly when another vehicle cut in front of you on the highway. After the system braked hard initially, it then accelerated at high speed without braking as the cutting-in vehicle moved to an exit ramp, causing you to collide with a stopped car ahead. While the airbags deployed and provided some protection, you sustained serious leg injuries including hematomas that required extended wound care and recovery. This issue involves a malfunction in the forward collision avoidance radar system's acceleration and braking logic after detecting a vehicle lane change.

Forward Collision Avoidance →1 issue
Your car's emergency braking system is activating unexpectedly and without warning, causing sudden stops that could put you in danger. This has happened while driving normally at green lights and while backing up in parking lots with no actual obstacles nearby. The system gives only a fraction of a second warning before braking hard, leaving no time to react and risking being hit by other vehicles.

Power Train →1 issue
Your car has experienced two incidents where it loses power when you press the gas pedal, instead displaying warning codes on the dashboard. Both times, the vehicle only resumed normal operation after you shifted to park, turned off the engine, restarted it, and shifted back to drive. The dealership updated your software after the first incident, but the problem occurred again about a week later, putting you in a dangerous situation in traffic.

Seats →1 issue
After bringing your car in for a recall service on the seat belts and emissions, the passenger seat was returned completely unbolted—the front bolts were loose on the floor, and the back bolts were also loose. When you braked, the unsecured seat slammed forward into a child car seat, creating a serious safety hazard. The repair will likely involve properly reinstalling and torquing all seat mounting bolts to secure the seat frame to the vehicle.

Electrical System,structure,engine →1 issue
Your 2024 Palisade caught fire while being driven on a public road. Before the fire, you noticed the check engine light came on and the engine started shaking. Within moments, you heard a loud popping sound from the driver's side of the engine compartment, followed by visible flames that created an immediate safety risk. The fire's exact cause is unknown, but it appears to have started near the headlight area, and the vehicle is a total loss.

Power Train,electrical System,engine →1 issue
Your 2024 Palisade has shut off multiple times while driving in traffic, with all dashboard warning lights coming on and the engine losing power while you're moving. The gear selector became unresponsive during these incidents, and even after the dealership replaced your battery, the stalling happened again during their testing. The dealership hasn't been able to permanently identify or fix the root cause, even after extensive testing.

Power Train,seat Belts,structure →1 issue
Your 2024 Palisade has two open safety recalls that need attention. One recall involves the seat belt buckle potentially not latching properly in a crash, which could increase injury risk. Additionally, your vehicle has a powertrain fault triggering the check engine light, and it's been at the dealership for over 30 days awaiting repair. The fixes will likely involve seat belt buckle replacement and powertrain diagnostics to address the engine fault.

Service Brakes →1 issue
Your anti-lock braking system (ABS) is activating unexpectedly when you go over small bumps while gently braking, causing your brakes to lock up and reducing your stopping ability. This has happened multiple times at low speeds (5 mph or less) over minor road imperfections, and you nearly collided with another vehicle. The dealer has indicated this is a known issue that Hyundai is currently refusing to repair. This problem likely involves diagnosing the ABS sensor system or brake module to understand why road irregularities are triggering the anti-lock braking function incorrectly.

Suspension →1 issue
Your Hyundai Palisade is making a loud rolling or rattling noise from the rear, which the dealership confirmed is a known suspension issue in this model. You left the car at the dealership on February 2nd for this repair plus a safety recall fix for the rear seatbelts, but after 7 weeks, both repairs remain incomplete due to backordered parts with no estimated delivery date. The dealership has not provided a rental vehicle or kept you updated on progress. Fixing this will likely require replacing suspension components that are currently out of stock.

Structure →1 issue
Your vehicle's paint is peeling and flaking off in multiple areas across the car, not from road damage, but from a manufacturing defect where the paint wasn't properly bonded to the body. Your dealer and Hyundai have said this isn't covered under warranty. If left unrepaired, the exposed metal underneath could rust and damage the vehicle's structure.
