Your hood latch released while you were driving, causing the hood to slam against the windshield and completely block your vision on a main road. The auto body shop found that the latch, bolts, and nuts were all rusted and failed, requiring the hood to be replaced and the car to be towed. Fixing this would involve replacing the rusted hood latch assembly, bolts, and nuts with new parts.

Your driver's side door handle and window crank handle broke from normal use due to poor plastic construction. This could be a safety concern if you need to exit your car quickly in an emergency. Replacing both the interior door handle and manual window crank assembly should resolve the issue.
