2017 Honda Civic Engine Problems

On my honda civic I have the oil dilution problem which was verified by a mechanic. When I had the oil change they said gasoline came out with the oil. Two days before I went to get the oil change the fuel in the oil caused my engine to stall and me and my friend almost got rear ended by many cars flying up on us.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,700. *TT CONSUMER STATED THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED WAS CONTACTED AFTER THIS REPORT WAS COMPLETED. THE SERVICE MANAGER WENT TO THE TOW YARD AND WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NOT A COMPLETE COMPUTER DIAGNOSTIC REVIEW PERFORMED TECH (SERVICE MANAGER) COULD NOT EXPLAIN WHY CAR DIED/STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. The 10th generation Honda Civic's have multiple extended warranties from Honda for bad Air Compressors and Condensers. And the A/C Evaporator needs to be included in this. My car only has 60,000 miles on it, is not driven daily, and my A/C Evaporator is leaking Freon due to a bad part.

Cold start up issue where VTC Actuator is rattling and or grinding. This could potentially cause engine failure while starting or driving the vehicle. No check engine light or oil light.

The chain stretched and camshaft tensioner had to be replaced. The tech said this could only happen with low or insufficient oil, but every oil change on this car was done on time. There was a previous settlement because this engine has a known defect where fuel gets into the oil.

2017 Hatchbacks with the 1.5 liter engine 4 cylinder didn’t get an extended warranty yet all other Hondas with this engine did because of problems but not the hatchback when same parts and same problems I never want to buy a new Honda again .

My Honda recently has had 10 warning lights pop up went in for oil change they couldn’t tell me the issue came back for another diagnosis and they are saying the engine has oil dilution. This is a known issue for this engine. But why does it affect abs, traction control, wiper sensor, auto high beam detection. , all of the lane assist , cruise control, early warning crash detection? This can be dangerous when you can’t quickly get the car into a dealership. And if it’s know issue they need a recall or free fix.

Recently moved in person to an original over 55 community has an after market exhust system that is very load and the person also drives up and down the street like a race driver

10.55% fuel was found in the oil according to a sample that was taken. Took to dealer and called honda. Dealer was told to perform Bulletin 18-137 I think.

I changed the oil at a dealer in early aug, but after driving for about one month, the oil dilution issue happens again. I can smell gas in the oil, and the dipstick showed that the oil level is far beyond the expected range.

Air conditioning is blowing hot air, possibly due to refrigerant leak. Finding many other similar complaints from new honda civic owners.

ENGINE OIL DILUTION. THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH THE L15 ENGINES AND GAS FLOWING DOWN PAST THE PISTONS INTO THE CRANKCASE. THESE ENGINES HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN CHINA AND ONLY "AFFECTED" STATES IN THE US AND CANADA. I DO NOT LIVE IN ONE OF THESE "AFFECTED" STATES BUT MY ENGINE OIL LEVEL IS ABOVE THE MAXIMUM LEVEL AND SMELLS HEAVILY OF GAS.

FUEL (GASOLINE) IS SEEPING INTO THE MOTOR OIL CAUSING A OVERFILL MARK ON OIL DIPSTICK AND STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE WHEN CAR IS STARTED. OIL VISCOSITY SEEMS TO BE "THINNER" AFTER 2000 + MILES OF DRIVING.

UPON DOING RESEARCH ON THE TECH THAT WENT INTO THE MOTOR OF THE 2017 SI. I FOUND THAT THE SAME MOTOR WAS IN THE 2017 CRV AND THERE HAD BEEN A RECALL ON IT FOR A FULE PROBLEM. I DID NOT FIND THE EXACT PROBLEM ON MY VEHICLE HOWEVER I DID NOTICE THAT WHEN CHANGEING OIL THERE IS A VERY STRONG GASOLINE SMELL. I'M AFRAID OF THERE BEING DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR DUE TO LOSS OF LUBRICATION. (THE DATE I'LL PUT FOR WHEN IT HAPPENED WILL BE THE LAST DATE OF AN OIL CHANGE.)

VEHICULE STALLING WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT A SPEED OF 60 MPH ALL WARNING LIGHTS POP UP, VEHICULE LOSS POWER UNTIL STALL. EVENT OCCURS 3 OCCATIONS IN LESS THAN 1 MONTH.

FUEL IS MIXING WITH OIL. OIL DIPSTICK READS HIGHER WHEN CHECKED. ENGINE PERFORMANCE IS SLUGGISH. WHEN CHECKING OIL, THERE IS A STRONG GASOLINE SMELL. AS A RESULT, OIL IS SIGNIFICANTLY THINNER WHEN CHECKED.

THE ENGINE WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING-HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES, INCLUDING THE FREEWAY...YET HONDA SAID THEY COULDN'T FIND ANY ISSUES.

One of the piston rods broke and went through the block. Oil had heavy odor of gasoline

Fuel getting into oil

My car has a significant engine oil dilution problem. Gasoline is starting to mix with the oil and it could potentially cause problems or complete engine failure. I am having issues with performance in cold weather due to this problem.

I made a purchase a civic Honda 2017 on February 2020 and now in April 2022 stops working the A/C unit only blowing hot air

My vehicle has oil dilution issue. The engine releases toxic gas from the engine compartment to interior of the car though the air duct. This gives me major headache and forces me to drive with my widow open as to not worsen my asthma issues.

A/c condenser is defective but honda says my VIN not covered under honda's 10 year extended warranty for this part. In addition, tried to get this part serviced under three-year warranty but honda service was closed due to covid 19 and the company has refused to extend its warranty period as other companies have done.

I do oil change by myself. Here I am reporting fuel dilution of engine oil issue on my car. The second last time of my car's oil change was on march 16 2019.
