WHEN I DRIVE THE CAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. AND REQUIRES MAINTENCE TO THE VEHICLE. JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF MY CAR IS UNDER RECALLS AT ALL. THANKS SOMETIMES MY TRANSMISSIONS SLIPS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1999 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT A CRUNCHING NOISE COULD BE HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH AND ABOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REAR TRAILING ARM WAS CRACKED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
CONSUMER COMPLAINED THAT THE BUMPER CLEARANCE FOR THE VEHICLE WAS TOO LOW. CONSUMER DROVE TO A CONCRETE STOP. WHEN PULLING AWAY, IT RIPPED THE BUMPER OFF THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER, WHO SUGGESTED THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP. CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIR WILL HAVE TO BE PAID OUT OF POCKET. ALSO, CONSUMER WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY SERVICED ABOUT 4 OR 5 OF THESE DEFECTS A WEEK. *AK
VEHICLE MAKES A LOUD ROARING SOUND, ACCOMPANIED BY SHAKING THAT IS STRONG ENOUGH TO VIBRATE THE STEERING WHEEL AND REARVIEW MIRROR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP.
THE BALL JOINT ON THESE VEHICLES DO NOT HAVE A CASTILATED NUT TO SECURE THE BALL IN POSITION , THE NUT CAN BACK OFF AND THE BALL WALLERS OUT ON THE STEERING ARM CAUSING TIRE ,BRAKE WARPAGE AND STEERING FAILURE WHEN THE SOCKET WALLORS OUT. THIS IS A PROBLEM ON 1997 1998 AND 1999 VEHICLES. I NOTICED THAT THEIR A COMPLAINT S OF BRAKE WARPAGE ON THESE VEHICLES IN YOOUR REPORTS AND A COUPLE OF WHEEL FAILURES. I AM AN ENGINEER WHO HAS WORKED IN THE AUTO INDUSTRY AND THIS IS NOT A CRANK REPORT.*AK
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OF 70 MPH VEHICLE PULLS TO THE RIGHT AND VIBRATES VERY HARD WHICH MAY CAUSE A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL. DEALER CANNOT DETERMINE THE CAUSE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
REAR SUSPENSION MAKES CLUNKING NOISE IN TURNS; SQUEAKING NOISE EMMITS FROM RIGHT REAR TRUNK AREA OVER BUMPS. *AK
WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 5 TO 15 MPH CONSUMER TRIED TO MAKE A TURN TO LEFT OR RIGHT, TIRES WOULD TOUCH THE VEHICLE'S BODY ON EITHER SIDE. CONSUMER HAD TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. *AK
