I was getting off of work to go home when I got on the main hwy my car just started to slow down and would not go over 10 mph and the speed limited on that hwy is 45 mph so I had to get off the road before I was hit from behind.
The clutch on my 2017 Ford focus needs to be replaced due to it slipping/shuttering when I go to accelerate.

All lights came on and vehicle immediately slowed down, brakes became hard and it eventually just stalled out. Would not restart. Towed to repair shop . Mechanic found that the oil was full but no oil to engine. Found that the oil pump belt had malfunctioned and tore up leaving debris in the oil pan. Vehicle has approx 66,000 miles on it and manual says this piece if equipment should last until 150,000. Upon research, this is a common occurrence in the 2017, 2018 Ford focus.

VEHICLE STAYS IN HIGH GEAR, EVEN WHEN PARKED, I TURN THE VEHICLE OFF, THEN BACK ON, AND THE CAR IS STILL IN A HIGH GEAR AND THE ENGINE REVS. ALSO, THE BATTERY DIES AFTER THE CAR IS TURNED OFF FOR EVEN 5 MINUTES.
1. CAR WILL MAINTAIN SPEED/RPM AFTER YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. 2. CAR WILL ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN WHEN YOUR DRIVING AND YOU TAKE YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS PEDAL. 3. CAR WILL ACCELERATE FROM A STOP WITHOUT PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. 4. RPM WILL INCREASE WHEN AT A STOP, THE ONLY THING KEEPING YOU FROM MOVING IS KEEPING YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE OR SHIFTING TO NEUTRAL OR PARK. ISSUES STARTED SHORTLY AFTER BUYING THE CAR BRAND NEW AND HAS CONTINUED AFTER MULTIPLE VISITS TO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR SAME ISSUE. DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY ARE UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SO EACH TIME WE ARE TOLD THE VEHICLE IS OPERATING' AS DESIGNED.'
THE CAR SHUTTER UPON STARTS FROM STOP LIGHTS AND SIGNS.
FORD FOCUS RECALL #18S35, NHTSA RECALL #18V-735 IT HAS BEEN OVER SIX ( 6 ) MONTHS AND STILL NO REMEDY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY MY ELDERLY MOTHER SHOULD WAIT THIS LONG.
PURCHASED CAR NEW FROM DEALERSHIP. AT 14,500 MILES (APPROX.) GOING DOWN FREEWAY CAR ACCELERATED BY ITSELF AND WOULD NOT IDLE DOWN. WHEN IN PARK, RPM'S WERE BETWEEN 3000 AND 4000 AND REMAINED THAT WAY. PARKED CAR AT DEALERSHIP, WHEN THEY CHECKED IT, THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE. RECEIVED CAR BACK AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE UNTIL 29015 MILES AND SAME THING HAPPENED. GOING DOWN FREEWAY, THE CAR ACCELERATED UP TO 85 MPH ON ITS OWN AND WOULD NOT IDLE DOWN. WHEN IN PARK, RPM'S WERE BETWEEN 3000 AND 4000 AND WOULD NOT GO DOWN. EXITED FREEWAY NEVER PUTTING MY FOOT ON GAS PEDDLE. WAS GOING DOWN 5 LANE HWY. AT 55 MPH WITH FOOT ON BRAKE CONSTANTLY. PULLED INTO PARKING LOT A POLICEMAN WAS STANDING THERE. I ASKED HIM TO COME OVER TO LOOK AT ISSUE. HE THOUGHT MY FOOT WAS ON GAS. I THEN OPENED MY DOOR AND HUNG MY FEET OUTSIDE OF THE CAR. HIS STATEMENT WAS "'THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS''. I TOOK VIDEO SHOWING RPM'S AT 3500 AND SPEED ODOMETER AT ZERO. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP, DROPPED OFF FOR WEEKEND. WHEN THEY CHECKED THE CAR ON MONDAY MORNING THEY COULD AGAIN NOT DUPLICATE IT. THEY KEPT THE CAR FOR FIVE DAYS, NUMEROUS PEOPLE DRIVING THE CAR BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE IT. THEY TELL ME IF THEY CANNOT DUPLICATE IT THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE THE VIDEO. I LOVE THE CAR BUT I TAKE MY LIFE IN MY HANDS WHEN I DRIVE IT AND I STILL OWE QUITE A BIT OF MONEY ON IT. WHAT RECOURSE DO I HAVE...PLEASE HELP!
GAS PEDAL/THROTTLE STICKING CAUSING VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE WHEN DRIVING. ALSO, CAUSING VEHICLE TO REV HIGH WHEN AT IDLE AND DURING SHIFTS (PAST 4000RPM) CAUSING EXCESSIVE WEAR ON CLUTCH COMPONENTS.
