I have a current recall on my transmission I notify for it. I went up there to get the recall fixed. They plugged it up to the machine to see about my transmission, and they said it came back with a cold that was not associated with the recall for my transmission, but it did say something was wrong with my transmission, I looked into that popped up on the cold reader and it’s it. I gave them the number and they said that Ford will be unable to pay for it and they told me I would have to pay $175 in order to hook it up to the main machine to see what exactly the code is if it match the cold that will pay for me new transmission. I explained to them that if I have a recall on the car for my door, lash and my transmission , why would I have to pay for so he kept running around loops not trying to give me a correct response basically just making me trying to pay for them to hook up something that should be for free so my car is accelerating is not accelerating speed, it keeps on clicking is something to do with my transmission, which it has a recall on it before in Orange will not fix it Paid paid off so I need someone to help me solve this matter because Ford and Orange is trying to make me pay for something that is a recall that should be fixed and free if someone call me back at [XXX] thank you INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
There are multiple issues going wrong with my car and I have 5 children and this makes me angry and scared to drive it 1. Vehicle completely shuts down if you go under 1/4 tank and NOT on red at all! No gas light or anything 2. The hesitation from stop to go is getting worse" mechanics tell me this is normal" for a focus and now sometimes when accelerating on the highway it gets stuck in certain speeds and feels rougher 3. Now there is a chain like rattling noise upon idle that is annoying and embarrassing 4 the codes state oxygen sensor ,speed sensor,fuel valve issue, and power train and abs... It's 100.00 per issue to diagnose. How is anyone able to afford this? I'm not a mechanic but everytime I take my car in they give it back saying there's no issue or I have to pay more fees to find the issue before anything can be replaced? This is crazy! I don't feel safe driving this car with my babies in it but with student loans and my kids school costs I can't seem to save if I'm paying all these fees to try to figure out what the issues are . The front windshield is horrible because it's hard to see out of even when I clean it w auto glass cleaner, which I have never experienced before and is very dangerous.
WHEN I DRIVE IN THE RAIN MY CAR WILL SPUTTER AND LOSE SPEED. THE OIL LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT TURNS ON AND IT DIES. I CAN GET IT TO TURN OVER BUT IT IMMEDIATELY DIES.I HAVE HAD TO GET IT TOWED TWICE. STILL CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS INOPERABLE. ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE WAS CALLED AND JUMP STARTED THE VEHICLE AND ADDED FUEL TO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH. ADDITIONALLY, AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE RPM REVVED UP HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE RESPOND UP TO 10 MPH. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE REICHENBACH FORD LINCOLN LOCATED AT (600 N COIT ST, FLORENCE, SC 29501), TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT AN UNKNOWN SOFTWARE UPDATE NEEDED TO BE PERFORMED WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.*DT CONSUMER STATED THAT VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MIKE REICHENBACH ON 9/12/2019 FOR THE REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. CONSUMER FOUND OUT LATER THAT NO REPAIRS WERE ACTUALLY MADE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTO ZONE WHERE IT WAS FOUND OUT THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE WHICH WAS PART OF THE RECALL. ON 3/2/2020 CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO RACEWAY FORD OF DARLINGTON TO BE REPAIRED. RACEWAY FORD REFUSED TO REPAIR VEHICLE BECAUSE MIKE REICHENBACH HAD CLOSED THE RECALL. CONSUMER SAYS VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL RANDOMLY AND THAT AFTER REFUELING VEHICLE HAS TO BE RUNNING WITH THE GAS PEDAL DEPRESSED BEFORE IT CAN BE DRIVEN. *DL

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ROCHESTER FORD 4900 US-52, ROCHESTER, MN 55901, (507) 288-7564, WHERE IT WAS REPAIRED NINE TIMES UNDER WARRANTY HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED AND THE REPAIRS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN NOTIFIED REGARDING THE MATTER AND OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,084.
WHEN I PURCHASED MY CAR USED FEBRUARY 2017 AT 70,000 MILES, I WAS GIVEN A CARFAX STATING THE ONLY ISSUE WAS WITH THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH. LESS THAN A MONTH IN, I SEEMED TO BE LOSING POWER SO I TOOK IT TO TOWN & COUNTRY FORD IN MADISON, TN. IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE AFOREMENTIONED RECALL ISSUE AND I DROVE IN RELATIVE SATISFACTION FOR ALMOST AN ENTIRE YEAR. THEN I TOOK IT INTO TWO RIVERS FORD (MT. JULIET) FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE SERVICE GUY WAS VERY AMICABLE AND EVEN ARRANGED FOR ME TO HAVE A LOANER CAR WHILE THEY HAD MINE. THE SAME ISSUE WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT WITH AN ADDITIONAL FIX. I PAID $125 FOR SOME PART NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL WARRANTY BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT WERE TO MALFUNCTION AGAIN, IT MAY NOT BE COVERED. THE THIRD TIME I TOOK IT IN (BACK TO MT JULIET) THEY LOOKED AT IT, DETERMINED IT WAS THE SAME ISSUE, AND SAID I'D HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE THE RECALL WARRANTY WAS ONLY GOOD FOR 100,000 MILES. I COULDN'T AFFORD $2300 QUITE TO FIX IT SO I RETURNED THE LOANER AND CLAIMED MY VEHICLE, BUT NOT WITHOUT MAKING IT ABUNDANTLY CLEAR THAT WASN'T SATISFIED WITH HOW THE SITUATION WAS HANDLED.
WHILE TURNING A CORNER MY CAR VIBRATES AND SHAKES AND HEAR AS IF METAL IS HITTING UNDERNEATH. WHEN PUSHING ON GAS TO GO, THE CAR WILL JERK. DOESN'T WANT TO REV LIKE IT NEEDS TO. WILL SHAKE AGGRESSIVELY WHEN BRAKING. HAVE TO LET OFF GAS THEN PUSH BACK DOWN ON IT TO MAKE IT STOP SHAKING. ALSO VIBRATES WHEN IN PARK INTENSELY
I WAS ENTERING THE ON RAMP FOR THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 15 MPH. HOWEVER, THE RPM'S WENT UP TO 4-5. I IMMEDIATELY GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY. THE PROBLEM PERSISTED WHEN TRY TO ACCELERATE AFTER EACH STOP SIGN AND LIGHT ON CITY STREETS..
I PURCHASED MY BRAND NEW 2013 FORD FOCUS, FROM THE DEALER IN MAY OF 2013. I TOOK IT BACK A WEEK LATER BECAUSE IT WAS "CLUNKY" WHEN ACCELERATING. THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD ME "THE CAR JUST NEEDS TO LEARN HOW YOU DRIVE, WE WILL RESET THE COMPUTER". SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD IT "RESET" 4 TIMES AND AM ON MY 3RD CLUTCH REPAIR. LAST WEEK WHILE BRAKING MY CAR DECIDED TO ACCELERATE INSTEAD. THIS IS THE 4TH TIME IN A YEAR, ONE RESULTING IN A BUMPER ON BUMPER ACCIDENT WITH MINIMAL DAMAGE. I DONT FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY CAR, I COMMUTE TWO HOURS A DAY. FORD SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMSELVES! IF THE I HAD BEEN TOLD BACK IN 2013 WHEN I PURCHASED THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE I WOULD HAVE TRADED THAT CAR THE FIRST WEEK.
DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND RPM'S SHOT UP TO 5 AND I HAD NO POWER AND WHEN I STOP AND THEN TRY TO TAKE OFF THE CAR JERKS AND THERES NO POWER, CAR ALSO SHUTS OFF UNEXPECTEDLY WHICH IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN BECAUSE CAR IS ON INTERSTATE DAILY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO CAME ON.
MY 2013 FORD FOCUS HAS AN ISSUE WITH A STUTTERING/SHUDDERING TYPE FEELING. WHEN I AM STOPPED AND THEN BEGIN TO TRY AND ACCELERATE IS WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURS. THIS HAS BEEN VERY DANGEROUS AT TIMES WHEN I AM ENTERING TRAFFIC AFTER BEING STOPPED. MY CAR DOES NOT GET TO PROPER SPEED QUICKLY ENOUGH.

THE CONTACT WAS NOT INFORMED THAT THERE WAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM MAY 10, 2013 OR UP TO 60,000 MILES THAT HAD EXPIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES, THERE WAS A DRASTIC REDUCTION IN SPEED, AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INTERMITTENTLY. ON OCTOBER 22, 2018, NETS CAMPAIGN NUMBER: (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) WAS ISSUED. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, BUT HAD NOT PROVIDED ANY SPECIFIC GUIDELINES TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. STEVENS JERSEY CITY FORD (740 NJ-440, JERSEY CITY, NJ 07305, (201) 432-7272) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY WARRANTIES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
SIDE DOOR LATCHING (SAFETY RECALL) STILL NOT REPAIRED. I HAVE BEEN TO THE DEALER FOR TWO TIMES ALREADY SINCE OCT 2016 BUT THEY ONLY SAY THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY INCLUDED IN A RECALL THAT CAUSED A SIMILAR FAILURE. THE VEHICLE RECEIVED THE RECALL REPAIR; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. WHEN ACCELERATING FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR THE CAR WILL SHUDDER LIKE IT WANTS TO STALL. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN THE MOST WHEN THERE IS ANY KIND OF EXTRA WEIGHT IN THE CAR, WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, AND WHEN GOING UPHILL. IT WILL BE FINE FOR A WHILE THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WILL DO THIS EVERY TIME I TRY TO ACCELERATE. THE CAR ONLY HAS 52,000 MILES ON IT AND DEFINITELY SHOULDN'T HAVE THIS KIND OF A PROBLEM
MAY 0F 2015 ON A HIGHWAY CAR LOST POWER EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT TAKE MY FOOT OFF ACCELERATOR THEN IT BUCKED BACK AND FORTH AS I MADE MY WAY TO BREAKDOWN LANE TOOK IT TO FORD SERVICE AND NO INCIDENT WAS REPORTED IN COMPUTER. CAR HAD GIVEN ME THE MESSAGE "ENGINE FAULT SERVICE NOW!". THIS HAS SINCE HAPPENED IN SEPT., OCTOBER 2 TIMES, DECEMBER AND NOW JANUARY 2016. FORD HAS REFUSED ANY ACTION OR COMPENSATION. DANGEROUS SITUATION AS CAR SLOWS RIGHT DOWN AND COULD CAUSE BAD ACCIDENT. I HAVE 2 LITTLE CHILDREN. DEALERSHIP STATES NOW THAT ITS THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE. I HAVE RESEARCHED FORD FOCUS AND IT APPEARS THERE A HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OR PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED.
CAR VIOLENTLY STUTTERS AND SHAKES ON ACCELERATION FROM A STOP OR AT LOW SPEEDS. NO ACCELERATION WHEN GOING UP A HILL. CAR WAS SERVICED, BUT THE PROBLEM WASN'T FIXED. PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR DIED AND A LIGHT SAYING THERE WAS A TRANSMISSION FAILURE CAME ON. THE ENTIRE TCM WAS REPLACED AFTER TOWING INTO THE DEALER. SHAKING ONLY GOT WORSE. NOW THE RPMS WILL JUMP AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS EVEN IN CRUISE CONTROL. PARTS STILL ON BACK ORDER. FORD SAYS THAT THIS IS "NORMAL" FOR THIS CAR AND THERE IS NO REAL FIX. THE ONLY FIX IS TO CONSTANTLY HAVE IT SERVICED BUT EVEN THAT DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM.
THE VEHICLE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES. IT HAS HAPPENS WHEN THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED. THE RPMS DROP DOWN BELOW 500 AND SOMETIMES THE ENGINE STALLS. SOMETIMES THE ENGINE WILL JUST WAIVER AT LOW RPMS AND REGAIN IDLE.THE CAR HAS ALSO STALLED AT HIGH SPEED ON THE FREEWAY, WITH TRAFFIC BACKED UP, I DEPRESSED THE CLUTCH, AND THE ENGINE STALLED.
THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED. LAST OCTOBER WAS THE FIRST. THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR RPM GAUGE RACED BUT THERE WAS NO ACCELERATION. THE CAR JERKS HARD. FIRST TIME MECHANIC (DON CHALMERS CAPITOL FORD) TOLD ME THAT THESE ISSUES WERE NORMAL, THAT ALL OF THESE CARS HAVE SHUTTERING ISSUES, WHICH TO ME WAS A FRIGHTENING STATEMENT. THEY ADDRESSED A14M01 TRANSMISSION CLUTCH SHUDDER AND INPUT SHAFT SEAL WARRANT (FSA). THE TOTAL BILL WAS $1,377.88. THIS TIME, I WAS TOLD I WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY WORK AND DIAGNOSTICS. I STATED THAT I EXPERIENCED THE SAME EXACT SHUTTERING, SHIFTING ISSUES AND NOISES AS THE FIRST TIME AND WAS TOLD IT COULD BE ANYTHING. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR.
THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN VERY SLUGGISH SINCE DAY ONE OF THE LEASE. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SEEM TO ENGAGE ACCORDINGLY. UPON ACCELERATION THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND/OR SPUTTERS, LURCHING FORWARD AND THEN HESITATING AGAIN. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE IN FOR SERVICE BY AN AUTHORIZED FORD DEALER A FEW MONTHS AGO BUT THE PROBLEMS STILL REMAIN. I PLAN ON TAKING THE VEHICLE IN AGAIN SINCE IT CONTINUES TO DISPLAY THE SAME ISSUES IT HAS SINCE THE DAY WE BEGAN OUR LEASE.
PURCHASED CAR IN SEPTEMBER OF 2012. CAR BEGAN SHAKING, SPUTTERING AND DELAYING ACCELERATION AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS. CONTACTED FORD, THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS BECAUSE THE CAR HAD TO "GET USED TO ITS DRIVER". CONTINUED SPUTTERING, SHAKING AT LOWER SPEEDS WHEN ACCELERATING. BEGAN FEELING INCREASINGLY UNSAFE AND CONTACTED FORD AGAIN. THEY DID SERVICE WORK IN SEPTEMBER OF 2013 AND SAID THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE CLUTCHES AND IT WAS "REPAIRED". MY CAR STILL SHOOK AND SPUTTERED DURING EVERY SINGLE DRIVE BUT IT BECAME INCREASINGLY WORSE OVER 2015. I BROUGHT IN FOR SERVICING IN THE END OF APRIL 2015. FORD SAID "ALL SET" AND AFTER I PRESSED FOR MORE ANSWERS THEY SAID IT WAS DUE TO THE COMPUTER NOT RECOGNIZING THE GEAR SPECS. ONE WEEK LATER AND THE CAR IS STILL SHAKING, SPUTTERING AND JOLTING IN LOWER GEARS. IT ACTUALLY JOLTED IN REVERSE SEVERAL TIMES THIS WEEK. CALLED FORD, THEY WILL BE LOOKING AT IT AGAIN NEXT WEEK (MAY 2015). I NOTICE THIS EVERY SINGLE TIME I DRIVE MY CAR AND HAVE YET TO HAVE A SMOOTH DRIVE WITHOUT SOME SORT OF JOLTING, SEIZING, ETC. I AM USED TO IT BUT I AM VERY, VERY FRUSTRATED AND SOMETIMES NERVOUS THAT IT HAS STALLED OUT EVEN THOUGH THIS IS AN "AUTOMATIC". *TR

WAS DRIVING ABOUT 45 MPH BUT THEN SUDDENLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED FLASHING AND I COULD NOT DRIVE FASTER THAN ABOUT 20 MPH DESPITE WHAT GEAR I WAS IN OR HOW MUCH I PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR. AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS, I DROVE IT ONCE AGAIN AND IT SEEMED TO BE ACTING NORMAL AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NO LONGER FLASHING. *TR

HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO GO WITHOUT A CAR BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN HAS MY CAR IN FOR REPAIRS DUE TO A MANUFACTURER TRANSMISSION DEFECT. ALSO, WHAT PREMATURE INTERNAL WEAR IS THIS ALL CAUSING? WILL I NEED TO REPLACE PARTS BEFORE THEY WOULD NORMALLY NEED REPLACING OR FIXING?! I'M WORRIED THE CAR WILL BREAKDOWN OR THERE WILL BE A CRASH WHERE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT. IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT FORD KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECT AND CONCEALED THE INFORMATION AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS LAW SUITS OUT THERE FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE. I REALLY DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR ANYMORE. I CAN'T REMEMBER THE SPECIFIC DATE OF THE FIRST INCIDENT BUT I CAN FIND OUT FROM THE DEALERSHIP IF NECESSARY. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED, THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE AWAY BUT THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE AND NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO RESOLUTION WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 31,000.
I'VE REPORTED THIS ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES. IT IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT!! WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, OR STOP SIGN, THE CAR WANTS TO KEEP MOVING, EVEN THOUGH HEAVY BRAKE PRESSURE IS BEING APPLIED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT NO WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER NOR WAS IT DIAGNOSED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000, AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.
WHILE SLOWING DOWN ON A TURN, THE CAR LOOSES POWER, AS IF ITS GOING TO STALL, THEN RECOVERS WHEN ACCELERATING, THIS HAS HAPPENED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS, MUCH MORE TRICKY ON ICY AND WINTRY DAYS, ACCELERATING IN A CURVE TO KEEP THE CAR FROM STALLING. THE SECOND PROBLEM IS THE CAR ROLLS BACK ON HILLS, FOR AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE, NOR IS IT SAFE. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ON AN INTERSTATE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN A COMPLETELY FLAT SECTION OF THE ROAD AND HAD BEEN APPROXIMATELY 20 MINUTES IN MY JOURNEY WHEN I NOTICED MY CAR STARTED SLIGHTLY SHUDDERING. WHEN SLOWING DOWN FOR A MERGING VEHICLE, MY VEHICLE WENT TO OVER 5000 RPM (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION BY THE WAY) AND MY SPEED DROPPED, DANGEROUSLY DROPPING MY SPEED IN A PASSING LANE TO 20 UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT. WHILE MAKING MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE THE SPEED, MY RPM'S KEPT GOING UP AND MY ACCELERATION KEPT DECLINING WITH CARS SWERVING UNTIL I COULD GET INTO THE RIGHTHAND LANE. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT OR ANY DIFFICULTY WITH MY VEHICLE AS I PURCHASED IT NEW. FURTHER, I HAVE NOTICED THAT EVEN THOUGH I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, WHEN STOPPED AT INTERSECTIONS OR LIGHTS, IF I LET UP OFF OF THE GAS AT ALL, MY CAR ROLLS BACKWARDS MUCH LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION WOULD DO, WHICH NOW THAT I KNOW THE TRANSMISSION DOES THIS, I AM AWARE, HOWEVER ON UPHILL STOPS I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO NOT ROLL BACKWARDS IN SWITCHING BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATION IF A CAR IS CLOSELY BEHIND ME, STOPPED. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR IT TO BE LOOKED AT, AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP (WHERE I DIDN'T BUY THE CAR) STATES THAT THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES ARE COMMON IN FORD FOCUSES OF THIS MODEL YEAR -- AND FORD IS AWARE/THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE -- YET THEY "CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ACTUALLY WRONG BY GUIDELINES" FOR THE CAR. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 16,000.
FOR A FEW MONTHS PRIOR I HAD NOTICED A SHUTTERING STUTTERING TYPE FEELING WHEN COASTING OR AT AT STOP, ALMOST LIKE THE CAR WAS GOING TO STALL. ON 9/13 I WAS IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC GOING UP A HILL INTO A DODGER GAME WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN A WARNING POPPED UP ON THE SCREEN INFORMING ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD OVERHEATED AND I NEEDED TO PULL OVER, STOP THE CAR AND WAIT FOR 8 MINUTES. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE THE CAR TO PULL OVER THE ENGINE WOULD REV BUT THE CAR DIDN'T MOVE, THEN IT STARTED DOING LARGE LURCHES FORWARD. IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT OF THE TRAFFIC AND MOVE THE CAR TO SAFETY WITHOUT FURTHER ENDANGERING MYSELF, MY PASSENGERS, AND THE OTHER VEHICLES AROUND ME. THE SMELL WAS SO BAD I ACTUALLY GOT OUT OF THE CAR AT ONE POINT THINKING IT MIGHT EXPLODE. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT HALF AN HOUR AS I TRIED TO GET TO SAFETY. I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR REPAIRS THE NEXT MORNING AND IT WAS IN THE SHOP FOR A WEEK. I GOT IT BACK AND COULD TELL THERE WAS STILL SOMETHING WRONG BECAUSE THE SHAKING WAS NOW SO BAD I WOULD GET MOTION SICK ANYTIME THE CAR WAS AT A STOP. 5 DAYS AFTER PICKING IT UP I TOOK IT BACK TO THE SHOP. AGAIN, THEY HAD THE CAR FOR A WEEK. AFTER PICKING IT UP, THREE DAYS LATER I WAS AGAIN PULLING INTO DODGER STADIUM AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED. TRANSMISSION OVER HEATED, LURCHING AS I TRY TO PULL OVER TO SAFETY AND A TERRIBLE SMELL COMING FROM THE CAR. THE CAR IS BACK IN THE SHOP AGAIN, BUT I FEEL THAT MY SAFETY IS THREATENED AND I DO NOT WANT THIS CAR BACK. IN 23 DAYS, THE CAR HAS HAD TO GO INTO THE SHOP 3 TIMES, FOR A TOTAL OF 15 DAYS SO FAR. *TR

WHILE AGGRESSIVELY SHIFTING FROM 1-2 AND EVEN SOMETIMES 2-3 THERE IS A HARD THUMPING BANG THAT OCCURS WHEN SHIFTING OVER 3K...MULTIPLE FORD OWNERS ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND STATE THAT THE PROBLEM DEPENDS ON THE BUILD DATE OF THE VEHICLE...SUPPOSEDLY STATING ITS THE ENGINE MOTOR MOUNT. THE VEHICLE WAS WORKING FINE ONE MOMENT, AND THE NEXT I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE OVER 15 MPH. I MANAGED TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE FLASHERS ON UNTIL I COULD SAFELY PULL INTO A PARKING LOT. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND HAD IT TOWED TO THEIR LOCATION. AFTER SOME HOURS, I WAS TOLD THAT THE CAR CHECKED OUT FINE AND COULD NOT FIND WHAT THE ISSUE WAS. LATER, THE DEALERSHIP CALLED ME BACK AND SAID THAT THEY HAD FOUND A "TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN" REGARDING THIS VERY ISSUE. DEALERSHIP DID A CALIBRATION AND POST ROAD TEST OK AT THIS TIME. I WANTED A RELIABLE CAR THAT I COULD DEPEND ON, AND NOW HAVE TRUST ISSUES WITH IT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 40 MPH. SUDDENLY AN ERROR MESSAGE POPPED UP "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC". THEN THE CAR WAS DISABLED. THE SPEED AUTOMATICALLY REDUCED. THE SPEED DID NOT RESPOND OR INCREASE AT ALL WHEN I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. LUCKILY, I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER TO SAFETY. THEN THE CAR STOPPED COMPLETELY. I TURNED OFF THE CAR, THEN TURNED IT ON AGAIN. THE ERROR MESSAGE "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" POPPED UP AGAIN. THIS TIME, THE CAR AUTOMATICALLY ACCELERATED FROM 0 TO 30 MPH, THEN IT RAN CONSTANTLY AT 30 MPH. THIS TIME, THE SPEED DID NOT RESPOND AT ALL WHEN I STEPPED ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. IT WAS LIKE THE CAR WAS ON CRUISE CONTROL, WITHOUT YOU BEING ABLE TO TURN OFF CRUISE CONTROL! EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE THE 1ST TIME. THEY REPLACED THE ACCELERATOR ASSEMBLY. ABOUT A WEEK LATER, THE SAME ISSUE HAPPENED AGAIN. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE THE 2ND TIME. I EVEN TOOK A PICTURE OF THE ERROR MESSAGE ON THE DASHBOARD AND SHOWN IT TO THE SERVICE ADVISER. THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE ISSUE, AND TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. THEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN RIGHT AFTER I DROVE OFF THE DEALERSHIP. THEN, I MANAGED TO DRIVE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WITH THE ERROR MESSAGE STILL ON AND WITH THE ISSUE OCCURRING. SERVICE WAS ABLE TO COLLECT SOME KIND OF CODE FROM THAT ERROR MESSAGE, BUT COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR, AND TOLD ME THEY WILL CONTACT FORD DIRECTLY. IT HAS BEEN 3 DAYS AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RESPONSE AT ALL. THIS MORNING, I TURNED ON MY CAR AND DROVE FOR 2 MINUTES AND THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED AGAIN! AS FOR PROOF, I WAS ABLE TO RECORD A 30 SECOND VIDEO CLIP WHILE THE CAR WAS RUNNING ON A CONSTANT SPEED OF 30 MPH WITHOUT ME STEPPING ON THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR ANYMORE BECAUSE THIS PROBLEM CAN OCCUR RANDOMLY ANYTIME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD! NOT SAFE FOR DRIVING! *TR
AS I PULLED OUT INTO THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC FROM A GAS STATION, I REALIZED MY CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE BEYOND 15-20 MPH. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER TO THE RIGHT HAND LANE AND PROCEEDED TO THE STOP LIGHT, WHICH WAS ABOUT A 100 YARDS DOWN THE ROAD. AT THE RED LIGHT I PLACED THE CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND DISCOVERED THE ENGINE WOULD NOT GO BEYOND 3500-4000 RPM'S. I THEN TURNED ON THE WARNING FLASHERS, AND WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PROCEEDED AT 15-20 MPH UNTIL I COULD TURN INTO A SAFE AREA ABOUT 1 MILE DOWN. I THEN HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER. WHEN THE DEALER RAN MY VIN# THROUGH THEIR SYSTEM, IT SHOWED THAT A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN HAD BEEN ISSUED REGARDING THIS VERY PROBLEM. THEY THEN REPAIRED THE CAR AND IT NOW SEEMS TO BE RUNNING OK, ALTHOUGH I DON'T FEEL REAL GOOD ABOUT IT. HOPEFULLY SOMETHING LIKE THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN, ESPECIALLY IF I AM IN A SITUATION LIKE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS. MYSELF AND MY WIFE WERE KNOWINGLY PUT INTO A POTENTIALLY UNSAFE RISK BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY, WHICH I FEEL COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAD BEEN A LITTLE MORE PROACTIVE IN NOTIFYING THEIR CUSTOMERS OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SOMETHING LIKE THIS OCCURRING. *TR
DRIVING TO WORK TRAVELING AT 80 MPH MY FORD FOCUS 2013 HATCHBACK SE DECELERATES TO 60 MPH. I STEP ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE, BUT THE RPM GOES FROM 3000 RPM TO 4500 RPM WITH NO INCREASE IN SPEED. THE CAR WAS ONLY GOING UP A SLIGHT INCLINE IN THE ROAD NO MORE THAN 10 DEGREES OF ELEVATION. I RELEASE THE GAS AND THEN TRY TO STEP ON THE BRAKE GENTLY. IF THERE WERE PROBLEMS ACCELERATING I WANTED TO BE SURE I WOULD BE ABLE TO STOP. THE BRAKES WORKED FINE, BUT WHEN I PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE I COULD NOT GET THE CAR BEYOND 60 MPH. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON, AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IT EVER HAPPENED. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW JAN 2, 2013.
