Your engine backfired and overheated, then seized while driving with no warning lights—it happened in about 30 seconds. After multiple restart attempts, you were able to get the vehicle to the dealer, but they couldn't reproduce the problem initially. Previously, your vehicle had a purge valve replaced for a fuel smell, but the issue returned. Later, warning lights appeared, you heard ticking, noticed a burning smell, and the engine seized again—this time the dealer found the serpentine belt had shredded and the pulley had failed. The fix involved replacing both the serpentine belt and pulley.
