Owner Complaints (12)
Your car has shut down twice while you were hard braking on the freeway approaching stopped traffic, leaving you stranded in active travel lanes. The dealer hasn't been able to identify the cause. The engine restarted after you shifted to Park and cranked it again, but this is a serious safety issue since you're vulnerable to being rear-ended when the car dies unexpectedly.

Your OnStar system stopped working after just 5 months of ownership. The dealership ordered a replacement under warranty but never called you when it arrived, and your warranty expired while you waited. Now the dealership is asking you to pay $1,000 for a replacement that should have been covered, leaving you without emergency communication features during long commutes on remote highways. The fix will involve installing a new OnStar module and reactivating the service on your vehicle.

Onstar module is not working. I contacted Onstar and they stated to get repair I would need to continue paying for the service. Safety features are now not working due to this issue

Multiple people have had the same issue, only way to fix was replace Second: rear heat stopped working, dealership said we were the 5th tahoe in the last 2 weeks with the same issue. The "lines needed blown out" was what they said the fix was.
2022 Chevy Tahoe Z71. Sunroof leaked about 6 months after purchase. Could hear water sloshing overhead and then water came out of several places inside vehicle; a/c vents for 2nd and 3rd row, front wheel wells and seatbelt housings. Carpet and seats were soaked and after 2 more times in a week vehicle smelled like mold. Dealer had it in to inspect and said the drains were kinked and clogged. They had vehicle for 3 weeks and fixed drains and replaced headliner and carpet. Now, almost 2 years later, same exact thing is happening.
Appears the roof failed After rain storm on 3/1/24, was moving car to different parking space and heard water that was running / moving in the roof and doors of car. The water then started pouring out through all upper seat belt slots, the AC Vents in the roof, the lights in the roof. Water also poured out of the upper-forward electronic panel where the rear set and lift gate control buttons are located. Water was also coming out at the drivers foot area, rear seats side panels, The water coming from these places was falling onto the dash, radio, phone battery charger, seat belt reels, seats, carpets, between the seats and doors, rear trunk area. Safety is at risk due to possible electrical damage. Car holding weather and turning to a mold health hazard. Damage to seatbelts., inheritor lights, ventilation system. Water and moisture into car onto seats, carpets etc can grown mold spores causing health hazards.
2022 Chevrolet Tahoe Passenger side A pillar grab handle On Friday August 18, 2023, my wife was attempting to enter the vehicle while holding the grab handle on the A pillar passenger side and using the running board to step up and into the vehicle, the handle she was using to steady herself while climbing up and into the vehice snapped off from its mounting location and she fell from the vehicle. The handle along with the trim piece covering the A pillar came out as a unit in her hand. She could have been seriously injured. These grab handles need to be made of a more sturdy material to prevent these occurances.
Driving about 40 mph, 8 am ish 8/15/23. Temp was around 70 degrees. 1 car behind me but not too close. Sunroof glass shattered. I was able to pull into a gas station nearby to look at the sunroof to see what happened. Looks like the glass exploded up and not down from something dropping on it. No prior warning. Just instant shatter. Called dealership and the service person said I should call my insurance. I filed a claim with my insurance and plan to take the vehicle to the dealership to help clean it out and cover the hole so I can still drive home from work today.
The backup camera system on my 2022 Tahoe has repeatedly malfunctioned, causing a safety issue when backing up. This component/system has failed to provide a clear view of the area behind the vehicle, which is crucial for safe backing up. I can make the component or system available for inspection upon request. The malfunctioning backup camera system has put both my safety and the safety of others at risk. Without a clear view of the area behind the vehicle, I cannot see if there are any obstacles or people in the way, which can lead to accidents or collisions. Yes, the problem has been reproduced and confirmed by a dealer. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer multiple times for this issue, but the problem persists. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer, but I am not aware of any inspections by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. The backup camera system would work fine for some time, but then it would malfunction without any warning. This has been happening since I purchased the vehicle.
Water is leaking from the On Star Button/SOS Button/Airbag Sensor Light
Purchased car on April 7, 2022 with 10 miles on it. Drove home, parked car in driveway and a few days later went to start car and no power. Car had 22 miles. Start button was stuck on on but no power and engine was off. I could not get the start button to turn off. Car towed to dealer. Dealer checked car and couldn’t find anything wrong they called GM support and checked for known issues with other 2022 Tahoes. Nothing found. Software updated. Battery has full charge. Car released. I drove car home, parked in driveway and after a few days went to start car - same issue no power. Car has 44 miles. Start button stuck in on but no power, engine off, could not turn off start button. Car towed to dealer. Dealer kept car for a week. Dealer contacted GM support. Found that battery was draining but could not find what was causing drain. Dealer replaced battery. Car released. I drove car home and so far now at 200 miles the car seems ok. I am reporting this because what if I had lost power while driving on the highway. Plus I have heard of several 2002 Tahoe owners that this is occurring. The dealer has been great. I blame this on GM for releasing a bad car.
