While on I-65 in Birmingham, AL. and prior to locking up, the engine power decreased, and RPM's increased, followed by a dash message that oil temperature is high; pull over and idle.

on febuary,3,2026 I was traveling down a local highway at 50 MPH when I felt a sudden power loss and heard a squeaking noise figuring something was wrong I pulled over at the next safest spot, while pulling into the spot the squeaking noise developed into a "rod knock" the sound a loud metal clattering noise that was consistent with the rpms.

August 24, 2024 I was driving my 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 6.2 L V8 engine with 47,258 miles. I was traveling at approximate 65 MPH. My engine siezed up and I had to pull my vehicle off of the two lane road I was traveling.

The car decided to stop working all of a sudden without warnings or check engine lights, the sound was very loud and jolty, thankfully I was near my house and I was able to park the car. It sounded like there was a hiccup in between its jolt, and the car will shake aggressively until I turned it off.

I am writing to formally report a serious issue with my 2022 Chevy Silverado which I purchased brand new. Within just a few months of ownership, during a routine oil change, I was informed by the service technician that there was an oil leak. I took the truck to the dealership, and they claimed the issue was resolved by replacing the oil pan.

See attached document for complaint. When contacting my local dealership, Dick Hannah Chevrolet located in Sandy Oregon the Service Representative BXXXXX explained to me that they could not complete service in the form of inspection. BXXXXX recommended that I defer my request for a month.

General Motors has identified a problem and will not fix or replace the car or engine. I have asked multiple times and there is no answer as to when this recall will be fixed. This is unsatisfactory, it explains that this can cause engine failure and still no answers from GM about this.

At 53,000 miles the Coolant Control Valve has failed 2 times. A very common problem many owners have had. 1st CCV replaced at 45,000, second lasted less than 10,000 miles.

The engine has been rough idling after being put in a GM certified repair shop multiple times within the last year. Also the oil pan has a constant issue with leakage even after doing 3000 dollars worth of work, including the oil pan being replaced.

Coolant control valve malfunction on my truck with 43300 miles that causes my truck to go into limp mode. Took to dealership and was told I had to pay for an update to the ECM computer that is tied to the warning light. I was told that there are lots of recalls for this part but that I have to pay for a software update as a first line step to see if this will fix the issue.

The first incident the truck had 11,000 miles on it. Engine had to be replaced and took almost 3 months. The truck completely cut off driving down the interstate.

I started to hear a light tick/knocking sound during my daily 68 mile commute to work, 3/1/2024. When I would accelerate, the ticking would get louder. I noticed a bit of shaking at the same time of acceleration.

Engine failed and is being replaced by dealer. Engine failed on busy highway. Has been confirmed by free replacement.

noticed my engine sounded different, its a 2022 and I owned it for 1.5 years, I was taking it to the dealer for a oil change anyways, when I was there I asked them to through ears on it, they called me a hour later trying to explain it was due to the cold air (15-20 degrees) and the 6.2l uses 93 gas.

My truck is equipped with the chevrolet 6.2 engine. I was driving on interstate when I got a reading on the dash that the engine was shutting down due to the engine oil overheating. I did get to the berm safely without being hit by another car.

Truck shut off while getting off of ramp of I10 150 miles from home. Check engine light came on. Let truck sit for 10 minutes while on phone with onstar.

I experienced rod bearing failure in my L87 6.2L engine at 27k miles. Luckily it didn't seize up while driving, but they did fail as I was driving home. Decided to report this after reading that it is becoming a common problem, but not a recall issue yet.

I purchased this used pickup on [XXX] with 16,912 Miles. On [XXX] with 19,970 the engine expired on the pickup while I was driving on [XXX] in South Dakota. It was replaced by Northtown Automotive in Yankton, SD in early July 2024.

In March of 2024 my 2022 Silverado with the 6.2L V8 suffered a catastrophic main crankshaft bearing failure resulting in the vehicle losing power on a local highway. I was able to coast the vehicle to the side of the road where it would not restart. GM replaced the engine under warranty.

Driving on busy road and the engine cut off completely without warning on a busy Highway. The first time it happened vehicle could be restarted and get to dealership and no code and unable to figure out the cause.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. Upon inspection of vehicle, the contact discovered an abnormal design of the vehicle's exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe had been smashed in and the pipe appeared to be closed shut.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at highway speeds, the front-end of the vehicle started to violently shake. There was no warning light illuminated.

The engine coolant control valve went out on my vehicle. It is an 2022 LM2 engine. I found that that part frequently goes bad prematurely on this model.

The engine started knocking and squeaking. Mileage is 42,142

At 62,000 miles this engine blew up after regular maintenance.

GM is recalling the Fuel Injector Flow Rate system but is unwilling to fix damaged parts from the Flow rate being off. My Engine has Misfiring, pitted Cam, camshaft lobe wear, valves and needs a new head stemming from the Fuel Injector Flow Rate being off. GM is refusing to support their product.

Transmission or motor exploited

Engine seized up while traveling on the interstate at about 80 MPH in traffic and rainy weather. Vehicle was able to coast to the side of the roadway. No warnings or lights.

Engine bearing failure

Main bearing failure, same problems as reported by other 6.2 Liter GM vehicles. I had regular oil changes and was still 2000 miles from my next oil change and the engine failed with no warning on a road trip. Waiting on GM to send a new engine block under warranty.

Engine seized up without warning while driving 55MPH on busy, curvy, two lane road. Coasted to a stop around a blind curve and stuck on narrow shoulder to pull over on. Date of occurrence was 9/3/24.

Complete engine failure at 20k miles due to common lifter issue.

Passenger side lifter Bank failed at 4,000 mi.

GM has issue with Part restriction on the bottom end of the motor and rocker bearings going bad. No recalls on this just TSB. With that being said the motor blew a rod through the block because of the part restriction on the bottom end of the motor.

90,000 miles engine blown. Chevy mechanic says there is metal in the oil.

Only 2 years old and engine blown up. Chevy mechanic said that the cylinder walls could be scared. He said that could be where the metal shavings are coming from

I have two GM vehicles. 1) 2022 GMC Sierra Denali 4x4; 6.2 V8 and 2) 2022 Chevy Silverado High Country; 6.2 V8 as well. My Chevy is producing a mysterious black substance, whereas the Sierra does not.
