THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR LEAKING GAS.. AND SMELLS GASOLINE REALLY STRONG.. AND HARD STARTING ISSUE.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FOR SUBURBAN KIA IN TROY. ON THE THIRD DAY OF DRIVING IT, I NOTICED GASOLINE SMELLS COMING INTO THE CAR. I TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK ON 1/18/16 AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO FIND OUT THE CAUSE OF THE GAS SMELL COMING INTO THE CAR. I WILL BE TAKING IT BACK ON 1/21/16 WHEN THEY CAN KEEP IT ALL DAY. THE SMELLS COME WHEN THE CARE IS IN MOTION. ENOUGH FUMES TO TAKE MY BREATH AWAY. I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE WINDOWS OPEN.
2005 IMPALA BOUGHT FROM ELDERLY MOTHER 50,000 MIES FUEL LEAK BEFORE FUEL INJECTOR PIPE ONTO MOTOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT NOTICED A STRONG FUEL ODOR OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD RANDOMLY. GAS FUMES INSIDE AND OUT. CAN'T DRIVE CAR IT'S THAT BAD. HAD CHEVY DEALER TOLD ME IT WAS FUEL FILTER REPLACED IT GUESS WHAT STILL HAD FUMES AFTER DRIVING HALF A MILEHAD CAR SINCE 2006 .80000 MILES ON CAR 68 YEAR OLD , CAR IN EXCELLENT CONDITION, CAN'T DRIVE OR WOULD END UP IN HOSPITAL. GM DEALER TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL . SOMEBODY HAS ROCKS IN THERE HEAD. THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS,SOMEBODY NEEDS TO QUIET LINING THEIR POCKETS AND TAKE CARE OF THEIR PRODUCTS. *TR
OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS I HAVE EXPERIENCED NUMEROUS PROBLEMS. THE FIRST PROBLEM WAS SHIFTING OF THE VEHICLE WHICH SHIFTS VERY HARD. THE SECOND PROBLEM WAS A LOT OF RUST AND NEEDING TO HAVE BODY WORK DONE. NOW WITH A LITTLE OVER 70,000 MILES ON THE CAR IT MIGHT NOT PASS INSPECTION NEXT YEAR BECAUSE THE BODY/FRAME IS SO RUSTED THAT IT WOULD COST MORE TO HAVE IT FIXED THAN THE CAR IS WORTH. THE CAR IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF SO IT IS NOT FOR LACK OF CARETAKING ON MY PART. THE THIRD PROBLEM IS IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS PERIODICALLY WE CAN SMELL GAS IN THE INSIDE OF THE CAR, NOT EXHAUST FUMES - GAS. IT'S AWFUL; NAUSEATING AND UNBEARABLE. THIS SMELL CAN ALSO BE DETECTED OUTSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. I WORRY ABOUT THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF ME AND MY FAMILY IN THIS VEHICLE FOR THESE REASONS. ALSO, AT THIS POINT I AM AFRAID TO PARK THE CAR IN OUR ATTACHED GARAGE FOR FEAR IT COULD START A FIRE. *TR

WHEN THE IMPALA IS AT NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE THE ENGINE DIES WHEN YOU REMOVE YOUR FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AS WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN . IF THE ENGINE HAS NOT REACHED NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE THIS DOES NOT OCCUR. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A STRONG ODOR OF GASOLINE BEING EMITTED FROM THE FUEL LINE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER:07E021000 (FUEL SYSTEM, OTHER). THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70000.

CAR HAS JUST ROLLED OVER TO A LITTLE OVER 165,,000 MILES AND WHEN WE BOUGHT IT AT THE TIME WE DIDN'T THINK ANYTHING OF IT AND THEN TURNS OUT A YEAR AFTER WE BOUGHT THE CAR IT STARTED SMELLING LIKE GAS BIG TIME BUT WE DIDN'T KNOW WHERE IT WAS COMING FROM THEN WHEN I WENT TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SO IM LIKE THINKING NOW WHAT AND SO WE TAKE IT TO A GARAGE AND THEY SAY OH YOUR ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS RUSTED OUT AND THAT THERE'S A DOLLAR SIZE HOLE NEAR THE FRONT OF THE EXHAUST BUT WE DIDN'T GET IT FIXED BECUZ WE COULDN'T AT THE TIME SO THEY JUST TOLD ME TO DRIVE IT AS IS AND I HAVE BEEN BUT I'VE BEEN NOTICING THAT IT SOUNDS LOUDER AND LOUDER ALMOST LIKE HOW A CAR DOES NOT HAVE AN EXHAUST SYSTEM AND I REALLY DON'T FEEL SAFE BECUZ ITS LOUD AND IT SMELLS LIKE GAS ON THE INSIDE AND IM AFRAID OF IT CATCHING ON FIRE ONE OF THESE DAYS AND AS FOR THE RESISTOR BLOWER MODULE FOR THE A/C AND HEATER WE ALREADY HAD TO REPLACE THAT THREE TIMES BECUZ IT KEPT GOING OUT AND I REALLY DON'T WANT TO HAVE THE CAR CATCH ON FIRE BECUZ THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR MODULE ISN'T WORKING PROPERLY AND I DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY TO KEEP FIXING THINGS ON MY CAR. *TR
FOR SEVERAL MONTHS I HAVE BEEN SMELLING STRONG GAS FUMES. TOOK TO PEP BOYS AND THEY CANNOT FIND ISSUE. *TR
EXPERIENCED FUEL SMELL IN THE VEHICLE WHEN OPERATING THE BLOWER. NOTED FUEL REGULATOR VALVE LEAKS FUEL. STOP ENGINE ALLOW TO EVAPORATE AND WHEN THE ENGINE IS WARM STOPPED LEAKING. VEHICLE NOW HAS 161000 MILES AND STOPPED LEAKING. LEAKS WHEN THE TEMPERATURE GETS COOL OR COLD OUTDOORS. DEALER CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE OF THE LEAK. THIS IS A FIRE HAZARD. *TR
THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE, FUEL GAUGE, AND SPEEDOMETER HAVE GONE COMPLETELY HAYWIRE! THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE GOES TO HOT AND BUZZES BUT MY CAR IS NO WHERE NEAR HOT. I DON'T KNOW IF MY TANK IS FULL OR EMPTY BECAUSE THE GAUGE IS ALWAYS ON THE BOTTOM. I DON'T KNOW HOW FAST I'M GOING BECAUSE MY SPEEDOMETER IS STUCK ON 120. THE DEALERSHIP KNOWS THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM BUT THEY INSIST ON CHARGING $500 OR MORE TO FIX IT...JUST OWN UP AND DO THE RECALL!! *TR
STARTED SMELLING GAS WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM CHURCH ON JANUARY 8, 2012. SMELL OF FUMES INTENSIFIED. MUST ROLL DOWN WINDOWS WHENEVER DRIVING. MY EYES BEGAN TO BURN. LEARNED OF 2005 CHEVY IMPALA RECALL DUE TO FUEL SYSTEM/ FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. RECALL ID# 64377. I CONTACTED DEALERSHIP. I DROVE HOME WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN IN 19 DEGREE WEATHER. NOW IT IS SITTING AGAIN DUE TO MECHANIC RECOMMENDATION. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. THE CONTACT STARTED THE IGNITION AND ACTIVATED THE AIR CONDITIONER, THEN THERE WAS AN OVERPOWERING GASOLINE FUEL ODOR INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY AT INITIAL STARTUP WITH THE ACTIVATION OF THE AIR CONDITIONER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE CONTINUED AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 62,000.

2005 CHEVY IMPALA WHICH LEAKS GAS EVERY MOURNING WHEN THE CAR HAS SET OVERNIGHT. THE RECALL IS THE UNIVERSAL PRESSURE REGULATORS (UPR) WERE PRODUCED WITHOUT AN O'RING AND RETAINER, SO THIS CAUSE THE GAS TO LEAK. *TR
CAR CAN BE PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS OR A FEW MINUTES AND THERE IS A STRONG ODOR OF GAS COMING THROUGH THE AIR VENTS, NO LEAKS OR SPILLS OF GAS ARE PRESENT, ONLY HAPPENS SPORADICALLY NOT EVERY DAY OR EVEN EVERY WEEK IT IS REALLY WEIRD. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE UNKNOWN.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA. SPORADICALLY, THE SPEEDOMETER ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL BECOMES INOPERATIVE AND DISPLAYS INACCURATE READINGS. AS A CONSEQUENCE, THE CONTACT CANNOT ACCURATELY MEASURE THE SPEED SHE IS DRIVING. THERE IS ALSO A STRONG FUEL ODOR EMANATING FROM THE VEHICLE. SHE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A REPAIR SHOP, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED OR REMEDIED. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN PROPERLY REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 116,000.

2005 CHEVROLET IMPALA CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD IN AN ACCIDENT. CONSUMER STATES THAT WHEN THE CAR FIRST CAUGHT FIRE THE VEHICLE STAYED IN DRIVE AND WOULD NOT GO INTO PARK AND IGNITION WOULD NOT TURN OFF CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO FEED FUEL TO THE FIRE. *KB THE DRIVER OF THE IMPALA WAS INVOLVED IN A MODERATELY LOW SPEED FRONT END COLLISION WITH THE REAR OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. ACCORDING TO THE FIRE REPORT, THE FIRE A CAP WAS MISSING FROM THE FUEL RETURN ON TOP OF THE ENGINE WHICH WOULD HAVE SPEWED GASOLINE AS LONG AS THE ENGINE WAS RUNNING.*JB

FUEL LINE ON VEHICLE DO NOT MATCH PARTS CATALOGUE CAUSING MISMATCH. PARTS ARE NOT MADE AVAILABLE BY OEM UNLESS YOU PURCHASE A NEW FUEL LINE ASSEMBLY. TWO SEPARATE DEALERS INFORMED ME THAT THE VEHICLE COULD NOT HAVE THE PARTS THAT MY CAR HAD. REPAIRING DEALER IS NOW PINGING ME WITH A MAJOR REPAIR BILL TO REPAIR THE COMPONENT. VEHICLE FUEL FILTER IS NOT SERVICEABLE UNLESS YOU TAKE IT TO A DEALER BASED ON INPUT FROM DEALER. *JB
