I HIT A POT HOLE WITH MY 2004 VW JETTA TDI (I BOUGHT THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT). WHEN I TURNED THE CORNER I HEARD A "POPPING" SOUND. DROVE IT TO A NEARBY MECHANIC. THE CLOSET VW DEALER IS 70 MILES AWAY. THE SPRING ON THE DRIVER SIDE WAS BROKEN. THE MECHANIC SAID THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT AS HE HAS NEVER SEEN A SPRING BREAK LIKE THAT. THERE WAS EROSION IN THE SPRING. I STILL HAVE THE SPRING. REPLACED AT $347. CONTACTED THE VW DEALERSHIP. THEY FIRST TRIED TO BRUSH ME OFF SAYING THEY DIDN'T SEE THE POT HOLE ETC. EVENTUALLY THEY GAVE ME THE VW HEADOFFICE PHONE #. BRUSHED OFF THERE TOO AS IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY. IT'S NOT THE WARRANTY. IT'S A FAULTY SPRING THAT WAS PLACED IN MY CAR. IT ALSO RUINED THE SHOCK. *TR

I WAS DRIVING HOME 50-55 MPH CLEAR NIGHT SMOOTH ROAD I HAD NOT NOTICED ANY SIGNS OF MY TIRE BEING LOW I HAVE VALVE CAPS THAT SHOW WHEN TIRE AIR PRESSURE IS LOW AND THEY ALL WERE GREEN THAN I HEARD A LOUD NOISE AND MY CAR PULLED TO THE LEFT I PULLED OVER AND NOTICED MY TIRE HAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED AT THE SIDEWALL LEAVING ABOUT 2-3 INCHES OF TIRE ON THE RIM AND THE REST WAS IN ONE PIECE BARLEY SITTING ON THE RIM THE TIRE WAS MADE BY NANKANG TOURSPORT 611 DOT 109N OTHER NUMBERS I FOUND ON THE TIRE WERE 517 2306 Z2C, N-2570-3L XR611 RADIAL 195/65 R15 9IH M+S TUBELESS WHEN THE TIRE BLEW OUT AND THE TIRE SEPARATED IT TORE MY ABS SENSOR WIRE AND IM NOT SURE WHAT OTHER DAMAGE MY ALIGNMENT IS NOW OFF AS WELL. *TR

AUTO: 2004 JETTA GLS 1.8T ON 4/20/2005, THE DEALERSHIP "RIVERBANK MOTORS" IN STAMFORD CT HAD TO RETORQUE TURBO TO EXH MANIFOLD BOLTS. CAR WAS RETURNED FIXED. AFTER ROAD TEST. ON 7/1 2005 THE FRONT END EXHAUST DICONNECTED AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP BECUASE IT WAS UNDRIVABLE. ALL WARRANTIED. AFTER BEING TOLD NUMEROUS STORIES AND MISSCOMMUNICATIONS THE SERVICE DEPT INFORMED US THAT THIS TIME THE BOLTS WERE STRIPPED AND THE ENTIRE TURBO UNIT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. BROUGHT THE CAR BACK FOR THE 2ND TIME SINCE THE BOLTS WERE ONLY TEMPORARILY TIGHTENED. THE DEALER IS REPLACING THE TURBO UNIT UNDER WARRANTY BUT CANNOT EXPLAIN WHY OR HOW THE BOLTS WERE STRIPPED. "YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS MINE" WAS THE ANSWER I RECEIVED FROM THE SERVICE DIRECTOR. FORTUNATELY FOR ME ALL WARRANTY!!!! CAR IS 1 YEAR OLD
