THE OVER-SIZED SIDE MIRRORS & HOUSING CAUSE VERY SERIOUS BLIND SPOTS LOOKING TO EITHER THE DRIVER'S SIDE OR PASSENGER SIDE, BLOCKING VISIBILITY OVER THE FRONT FENDERS WHEN MAKING A RIGHT OR LEFT TURN. I HAVE BECOME VERY PROACTIVE IF I AM ENTERING INTO AN INTERSECTION TO BE AWARE IF THERE IS A VEHICLE OR PERSON IN THE INTERSECTION BEFORE I GET THERE. OTHERWISE I DO NOT SEE THEM IF THEY ARE ALREADYIN THE BLIND SPOT NUMEROUS TIMES I HAVE ALMOST HIT SOMEONE, CHILDREN, OR A CAR WHEN TURNING BECAUSE OF THIS. I NEED A SMALLER PROFILED MIRROR. TOO ME THE NEED FOR SUCH AN OVER SIZED MIRROR AND HOUSING IS UNNECESSARY FOR EVERYDAY DRIVING. IT IS A LIABILITY. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, IT APPEARS THAT THE PUMP AND OR VALVES ARE PRONE TO FAILURE UNDER 60K MILES. TOYOTA HAS BEEN AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS BEEN PRONE TO FAILURE IN THEIR TUNDRA MODELS PRIOR TO PUTTING THEM IN 2012+ TACOMA MODELS. PARTS ARE AROUND $800-$1,000 AND DEALER QUOTES ARE AROUND $1,800-$2K TO FIX. THESE PARTS SHOULD NOT BE FAILING AT SUCH LOW MILEAGE AND LUCKILY WAS UNDER THE 3YEAR/36K WARRANTY.

TOYOTA CURRENTLY IS NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT ON TACOMAS LIKE THEY DID WITH THE TUNDRAS BUT THEY ARE AWARE THAT THIS PART IS PRONE TO FAILURE.
