Your Pre-Collision System (PCS) has two problems: the PCS OFF warning light appears on your dashboard even when the system is turned on, and the system fails to apply the brakes when it detects an imminent collision. Toyota has confirmed this is a known issue affecting other Toyotas but hasn't provided a fix yet. Resolving this will likely require a software update or replacement of the PCS sensors and control module.

Your car's audio and multimedia system, including the hands-free feature and GPS, keeps rebooting repeatedly without warning while you're using them. These unexpected restarts can distract you while driving. The system may need software updates or internal component repairs to stop the reboot cycle.

Visibility/wiper →1 issue
Your sunroof suddenly shattered while you were driving on the freeway at 65 mph, with no apparent contact from other vehicles or road debris. The broken glass edges were pointing outward, suggesting pressure built up inside the vehicle. You had previously reported a wind whistling noise to the dealer that they couldn't confirm. The repair will likely involve replacing the entire sunroof panel and inspecting the seal system for leaks or pressure issues.

Air Bags, electronic Stability Control (esc) →1 issue
You rented a vehicle that was subject to two active recalls at the time of rental. The first recall involved a faulty airbag system that could be disabled due to programming errors, meaning your airbags might not deploy in a crash. The second recall affected the electronic stability control system, which helps prevent skidding and loss of control. The rental company acknowledged the vehicle should not have been rented with these unresolved safety recalls. Fixing these issues would require reprogramming the airbag control module and updating the stability control system software.

Electrical System,service Brakes →1 issue
Your Sequoia is repeatedly triggering brake warning lights, rear cross-traffic alerts, blind spot monitor warnings, and front camera error messages. After five shop visits and multiple software updates, Toyota disabled these warning systems instead of fixing the underlying problem. Most concerning: twice when the brake warning appeared, your truck automatically slowed down without activating the brake lights, which could be dangerous if a large truck is following you. The fix will likely require a thorough diagnostic of the electrical system and sensor connections, possibly including replacement of faulty sensors or a complete software recalibration.

Electrical System, vehicle Speed Control, electronic Stability Control (esc) →1 issue
Your car's safety warning systems aren't working properly — the blind spot monitor, rear traffic alert, and pre-collision warning all have malfunctions that started at 312 miles. Toyota issued a recall and installed a software update to fix it, but the problems returned within 25 miles of leaving the dealership. Your vehicle continues to show stability control and sensor malfunctions related to these safety features. The fix will likely require Toyota to diagnose and reprogram the vehicle's electronic control modules or replace faulty sensors.

Electrical System, vehicle Speed Control, electronic Stability Control (esc),service Brakes →1 issue
Your Sequoia's forward collision warning system and automatic braking are malfunctioning. The system is triggering brake warnings and sudden braking even when no vehicles are ahead, and dashboard warning lights for collision detection and blind spot monitoring keep appearing. The forward-facing cameras and sensors were replaced at the dealer, and then the bumper sensors and side-view mirrors were replaced, but the problem kept happening — even occurring in the replacement vehicle the dealership provided. Toyota has identified this as a software issue and is working on an update, but a permanent fix hasn't been applied yet.

Electrical System, vehicle Speed Control →1 issue
Your car's safety features are failing repeatedly despite having fewer than 500 miles on it. The collision prevention system, adaptive cruise control, rear cross traffic alert, and blind spot monitor are all malfunctioning. Your dealer has escalated the issue to Toyota but hasn't received a timeline for resolution yet. This will likely require software updates or replacement of the sensor modules that control these safety systems.

Steering →1 issue
Your steering rack and pinion seals failed and started leaking fluid around 100,000 miles. You may have noticed fluid leaking from the steering components or experienced changes in steering feel. The dealer repaired the vehicle by replacing the failed seals, which is related to a known Toyota steering issue (Campaign 21E103000).

Lane Departure, back Over Prevention, forward Collision Avoidance →1 issue
Your car's automatic braking system has been activating on its own several times over the past few months with no obstacles or unusual driving conditions present. Additionally, your blind spot monitor and cross-traffic alert features have stopped working. Both issues should be inspected by a dealer to diagnose what's causing the safety system malfunctions.

Fuel/propulsion System →1 issue
Your 2018 Toyota Sequoia had a pending safety recall (manufacturer recall 20TA02, NHTSA recall 20V012) that was not addressed during your six-month service visit in September 2020, even though you expected it to be fixed. The dealership initially claimed no safety recalls existed, but later admitted the recall wasn't completed because you didn't specifically request it, they lacked a certified technician, and they made false statements on your service paperwork. The dealership promised to correct the paperwork and update their records but failed to do so after three weeks.

Electronic Stability Control (esc) →1 issue
You received a Toyota recall notice specific to your vehicle's VIN for the electronic stability control system. When you called a Toyota dealer, they couldn't find any record of this recall in their system. Toyota then told you the recall was supposedly fixed when they didn't even have your vehicle in their possession, leaving you uncertain about whether your car is safe to drive. Resolving this will likely require contacting Toyota corporate to clarify the recall status and either verify the fix was completed or schedule service to address it properly.

Electrical System,lane Departure →1 issue
Your vehicle displayed error messages for the blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert malfunctions within the first 45 miles of driving a brand new car. The warning messages have appeared three times total since purchase, indicating a potential recurring electrical issue with these safety detection systems. Diagnosis and repair of the blind spot and cross traffic alert system will likely require dealer service to identify and resolve the underlying electrical malfunction.

Electrical System, vehicle Speed Control, unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your vehicle's rear cross traffic alert, blind spot monitor, and possibly adaptive cruise control are malfunctioning—and this happened at only 30 miles on the odometer. These safety features aren't working as intended. The issue likely involves the electrical system or the sensors that power these features, and may require diagnostics and repair or replacement of the affected sensor components.

Fuel System, Gasoline →1 issue
Your 2018 Toyota Sequoia had trouble starting and required several attempts before the engine would turn over. Once running, you noticed the vehicle drove with a rough, abnormal feel while driving. No warning lights appeared on your dashboard. Although this issue may be related to a known Toyota fuel system recall, your vehicle's VIN wasn't included in that recall campaign. A fuel system inspection and possible fuel filter or fuel injector cleaning may be needed to diagnose the rough running condition.

Electrical System →1 issue
Your lane departure and rear cross-traffic warning lights turned on while driving at 55 mph and wouldn't turn off. The dealer found that your rear bumper sensor wasn't properly aligned to its mounting brackets, which was causing the warning lights to stay on. The sensor was realigned during repair, but this type of misalignment could potentially happen again in the future.

Seat Belts,seats →1 issue
Your second and third row seats vibrate and make noise while driving. Your seat belts get stuck and don't retract fully into their housing—they also twist every time you use them, forcing you to manually push them back in after each use.

Suspension,unknown Or Other →1 issue
Every time you start your car and drive forward for the first 50 feet, you hear a loud clunking noise that you can also feel through the pedals and steering wheel. This happens consistently when you first start moving, but not at any other time during your drive. The issue appears to be related to your front suspension.
