While slowly parking at 1-3 mph with your foot on the brake, your 2025 RAV4 suddenly accelerated on its own and hit a stone wall about 3 feet away. You were not pressing the gas pedal, and no warning lights appeared before the incident. The vehicle has only 3,500 miles and had no previous issues. Toyota is investigating the cause, which could involve the throttle control system, brake system interaction, or engine management computer.

Your windshield developed a stress fracture at the bottom edge where it meets the car's body, below the wipers. The crack is semi-circular in shape and wasn't caused by an object hitting the glass—dealer glass technicians confirmed it's a stress crack. Your car had less than 12,000 miles when this happened, but the dealer refused to cover it under warranty. The repair will likely involve full windshield replacement.

While driving at 75 mph, you heard a loud explosion and pulled over, initially worried about a flat tire or damage. You found no visible damage or dashboard warnings, so you continued driving but noticed a whistling sound. You later discovered your sunroof had shattered for no apparent reason—you hadn't opened it in the nearly 3 months you've owned the car, and there were no nearby vehicles, overpasses, or trees that could have caused it. The sunroof glass will likely need to be replaced and the sunroof assembly inspected for defects.

Your RAV4's Apple CarPlay navigation is displaying your vehicle's location and directions incorrectly, causing the map to shift and spin unexpectedly as it recalculates. This constant distraction has caused you and your wife to get lost, take wrong turns, and feel confused while driving through unfamiliar areas, creating a safety risk. Toyota has acknowledged this as a known issue and installed unreleased software updates at multiple dealership visits, but the problem persists without improvement. Resolving this will likely require additional software updates, a full system replacement, or potentially vehicle replacement if the infotainment system cannot be repaired.

Your vehicle's mobile app may have unlocked your doors multiple times without your request during a service outage, even though your key fob was in low-power mode and couldn't communicate with the car. You reported this happening 5 times in 24 hours, and other owners have reported similar issues online. This appears to be a connectivity or software issue with the remote access system that may require a software update or system recalibration at the dealership.

Your sunroof suddenly shattered while driving on a highway with no apparent cause — you didn't hit anything, weren't under a bridge or tree, and no other vehicles were nearby. You heard a loud pop and initially saw no damage inside the car, but within a few miles, glass began flying off the roof and hitting vehicles behind you. The break pattern suggests the glass broke upward from the inside, with no rocks or debris found inside the sunroof — just shattered glass. The fix will likely involve complete sunroof glass panel replacement and an inspection of the sunroof frame and seals.

Your car has experienced sudden, unexpected engine surging 5+ times while coasting into turns, with the engine revving up rapidly and the car feeling like it might lunge forward. You've responded by shifting to neutral and braking to safely stop the surge. The dealer claims their black box data shows you were pressing the brake and gas simultaneously, but you report having both feet off the pedals during these incidents. This issue continues to occur sporadically even after the dealer closed the case.

Your sunroof leaks water inside your vehicle when it rains. The dealership has confirmed this issue. If left unfixed, water accumulation could lead to rust, mildew, and mold growth inside your car, which may cause respiratory problems. The fix will likely involve inspecting and resealing the sunroof's weatherstripping or drainage system.

Your infotainment display screen frequently goes black while the audio and navigation systems continue working normally. When this happens, you need to restart the system multiple times to get the screen back on, and it glitches when switching between Apple CarPlay and the Toyota interface. The fix likely involves a software update or replacement of the display unit.
