Your 4Runner's rear frame and suspension components have rusted severely due to poor water drainage design. The bottom of the rear frame has rusted through completely, and the rear control arm mounts have rusted away, which compromises suspension integrity and safety. This issue developed because water was unable to drain properly from these areas. Fixing this will likely require replacing the rusted frame sections and control arm mounts, which is a major structural repair.

Your 2007 4Runner's frame and undercarriage are experiencing significant rust, even though the truck has been well-maintained and garaged most of its life. You've noticed the rust is more severe than what you'd typically expect for a vehicle with 128,000 miles. You believe this may be a widespread defect since you've found similar complaints from other owners and Toyota has declined to assist under warranty. Addressing frame rust typically requires professional rust treatment, protective coatings, or in severe cases, structural repair or replacement of affected frame components.

VEHICLE FRAME IS EXTREMELY CORRODED TO THE POINT WHERE REPLACING NECESSARY ITEMS SUCH AS SHOCKS/STRUTS/STEERING COMPONENTS IS NOT POSSIBLE WITHOUT IRREPARABLE DAMAGE. FACTORY WELDS AT CRITICAL POINTS OF THE FRAME STRUCTURE ARE STARTING TO FAIL AND CAUSING SAFETY CONCERNS. THIS VEHICLE IS REGULARLY GARAGED AND ONLY HAS 85,000 MILES. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE, THERE HAVE BEEN PREVIOUS RECALLS AND FOR OTHER MODELS THAT SHARE THIS EXACT SAME FRAME AND SUSPENSION.
