2015 Subaru Outback Other Problems

I was driving on the freeway and the vehicle stopped, rolled to a stop, and wouldn't start up again. This resulted in a serious accident. I pushed the hazard button but the other drivers account of the accident was that the lights were off.

The horn stopped working. It has been diagnosed as a bad relay switch that is imbedded with the driver airbag in the steering wheel. This should not be happening to a well maintained vehicle that has been serviced regularly.

Rapid acceleration - this has happened twice to our subaru. The first incident was about a year ago. My wife was driving and I was the passenger.

PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE, STOPPING WHEN VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT HIGH SPEED JUMPED CURB AN HIT A TREE, HAPPENED IN A COUPLE SECONDS. ## VIN PASSED ## SUBARU OUTBACK 2015 ##

The windshield cracked in the bottom corner of the passenger side, merely as a result of the windshield wiper retracting onto it while being washed. (I have never in my 30+ years of driving cars had a windshield crack from the impact of a windshield wiper retracting onto it!!!) the crack has since spread almost to the driver side.

I heard a pop on the highway, although nothing hit my vehicle. Several small cracks appeared-one quickly got larger. I had called subaru a few months before about the pop as my mechanic said the windshield should be replaced-there was no reaction to this complaint.

There are two problems. One happened twice. When in drive and foot on the brake for a long time -about 3 or 4 minutes.

Traveling from kansas city mo to phoenix windshield developed crack while driving. We were traveling in a light rain and there was some very small pea gravel being thrown up by passing cars on the opposite side of car. The crack centered over the passenger wiper about 4 inches upward.

Noticed a small crack in the windshield the morning of 7/23/15, I do not recall anything hitting my windshield, by lunch time the crack had spread half way across the windshield. Now to replace the windshield I'm told it is on national back order and may take quite a while to get a replacement. Sounds to me like subaru installed cheep or defective glass windshields.

The child safety lock on the passenger side will not disengage. Our child is old enough now to operate the door safely but she cannot open the door from the inside. I feel that this is a great safety concern and the dealer should take care of the cost.

Purchased this car in 2019 from dealer as a pre certified vehicle. Replaced original battery(dealer said it was)in 8/2021. As I had to have it jumped, battery drain.

I have had to have my battery replaced almost every year since I bought this car and there is always a large amount or corrosion no matter how often I clean it. I just read that this has been a known issue of Subaru. I literally just had the dealership in late November tell me at an oil change that I needed to replace my battery.

I proudly purchased my 2015 Subaru Outback, new, in April 2015. I currently have less than 18,000 miles on it. During the time I have owned my Outback, I have had to replace the battery 5 times, through no fault of my own.

The electric tailgate sometimes malfunctions and gets stuck in an open position, and can only be forced closed manually by a strong person. My girlfriend has trouble closing it, and was forced to drive home with the tailgate open. This is unsafe - the tailgate sticks out past the back of the car, following traffic can't see her tail lights, and exhaust gas can be drawn into the car.

Child lock on back passenger door is locked down so you can't get out unless someone from outside opens. I never used the child lock and have no idea how it got down. Took it to subaru dealership and they said it would $350 to fix it.

Lift gate motor needs to be replaced, making knocking sound.

During the fall of 2019, I noticed an exhaust smell when starting my 2015 subaru outback in my garage. This smell coincided with the car running rough when starting and the exhaust smell entering the cabin when the heater was turned on. I did not notice this cabin exhaust smell in the summer due to using the AC on recirculate.

Navigation screen reflects sunlight so you can't see important information. Map shows zigzag pattern. Tried changing contrast, didn't help.

BATTERY IS DEAD AFTER ONE DAY OF COMPLETE BATTERY CHARGE THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A REPLACEMENT BATTERY. THE ORIGINAL SUBARU BATTERY FAILED IN SAME MANNER. CHARGING SYSTEM IS PUTTING OUT 13.85 VOLTS WHEN CAR IS RUNNING. BATTERY VOLTAGE AFTER TRICKLE CHARGE 12.87. STATIONARY

I WAS ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY COMING TO STOP FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR ACCELERATED. I PRESSED HARDER ON THE BRAKE BUT IT WOULDN'T STOP. FINALLY I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND TAPPED ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE ENGINE TUNED DOWN. I PURCHASED THE CAR USED IN 2017 FROM HONDA NORTH.IN BUTLER PA. AFTER ABOUT 6 MONTHS THE INCIDENT HAPPENED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THEN AND HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. THIS PAST MONTH IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK. LRECENTLY I ALMOST A SMALL CHILD AND HIS MOM PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. I HAVE GRAND CHILDREN THAT I TAKE WITH ME DAILY AND I AM SCARED WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF THEY ARE IN THE CAR WITH ME WHEN THIS HAPPENS. DOES SOMEONE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE YOU PAYS ATTENTION TO THIS ON GOING PROBLEM. I EXPECT TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE SOON BEFORE THIS CAR ACCELERATES AND KILLS SOMEONE

KEY STUCK IN IGNITION WHEN I PARKED AND TRIED TO TAKE KEY OUT. I WAS AWAY FROM HOME. EVENTUALLY, I MOVED GEARS AND I PUSHED KEY INWARDS AND IT RELEASED. I JUST HAD A HEFTY REPAIR BILL BEFORE DISCOVERING RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE ON EARLIER MODELS.

THE WINDSHIELD ON MY 2015 OUTBACK CRACKED FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE BOTTOM UPWARD THEN TURNED TOWARD THE PASSENGER SIDE IN AN L SHAPE. TOOK IT TO THE SUBARU DEALERSHIP AND THEY OF COURSE CLAIM THAT THERE MUST HAVE BEEN AN IMPACT THAT CAUSED THE CRACK. THE ASST. SERVICE MANAGER ACTUALLY ARGUED WITH ME AND CLAIMED THAT YOU COULD FEEL A POINT OF IMPACT WHERE A ROCK "MUST HAVE HIT" AND BLAMED THAT FOR THE CRACK. I CAN FEEL NO POINT OF IMPACT AND WAS IN FACT DRIVING THE CAR WHEN THE CRACK HAPPENED AND KNOW THAT NOTHING HIT THE WINDSHIELD. DESPITE THE CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST THESE WINDSHIELDS, SUBARU IS STILL NOT WILLING TO REPLACE IT AFTER THEIR "CLOSE AND CAREFUL" INSPECTION THAT TOOK ABOUT 10 SECONDS. THEY TOLD ME THE WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER IT. THEY CLEARLY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THESE WINDSHIELDS AND ARE DOING NOTHING TO CORRECT IT, EVEN REFUSING TO REPLACE ONES THAT DO HAVE A PROBLEM. BESIDES BEING A BAD BUSINESS MOVE FOR SUBARU, THIS SEEMS LIKE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE FOR CONSUMERS.

WINDSHIELD SPONTANIOUSLY CRACKED FROM PASSENGER B PILLER TO CENTER. WAS GETTING READY TO LEAVE A MOTEL IN AZ ON A COLD, FROSTY RAINEY DAY. I HAD TURNED ON DEFROSTER AND HEATER. AS WE STARTED TO MOVE THE VEHICLE TO THE FREEWAY , PASSENGER AND I BOTH HEARD A POP AND NOTICED A CRACK RUNNING FROM BEHIND THE PASSENGER B PILLER TO THE CENTER. NO OTHER VEHICLES WERE MOVING NEAR MY VEHICLE. SUBARU HAS DENIED CLAIM CLAIMING WINDSHIELD DAMAED BY A ROCK. I HAVE NEVER NOTICE A ROCK STRIKE ON THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION BUT NOT IN TRAFFIC- ON ACCESS ROAD.

THE SRVD (BLIND SPOT) NOT WORKING INDICATOR LIGHT COMES ON--MEANING THE BLIND SPOT MECHANISM WILL NOT WORK. I HAVE TURNED THE CAR OFF AND STARTED AGAIN WHICH MAY ELIMINATE THE PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN OTHER PUBLISHED COMPLAINTS AS DETAILED IN CONSUMER FORUMS ON THE INTERNET. THE BLIND SPOT LIGHT ON THE OUTSIDE MIRRORS WILL WILL NOT WORK IF THE SRVD IS NOT FUNCTIONING.

PLEASE READ UPLOAD DOCUMENTS. MY 2015 SUBARU OUTBACK BEGAN SHOWING SIGNS OF EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION IN THE SUMMER 2018. APPARENTLY THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH SUBARU AND CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS FILED AGAINST SUBARU FOR MODELS MADE PRIOR TO 2015. MY VEHICLE FAILED A OIL CONSUMPTION TEST IN THE FALL OF 2018. I WAS TOLD BY WHITE BEAR SUBARU IF THE VEHICLE FAILED AN OIL CONSUMPTION TEST SUBARU OF AMERICA WOULD PAY TO HAVE A NEW SHORT BLOCK INSTALLED DUE TO THIS ONGOING ENGINE DEFECT. HOWEVER, SUBARU OF AMERICA REFUSED TO PAY THE FULL AMOUNT TO HAVE A NEW SHORT BLOCK INSTALLED AS EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS MAKE IN 2014 IT IS TECHNICALLY A 2015 THAT THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ONLY PROTECTED CONSUMERS OF MODELS PRIOR TO 2015. ALSO, IN THE FALL OF 2018 THE INTERIOR OF THIS VEHICLE BEGAN TO HAVE A EXHAUST SMELL AND WAS MAKING ME FEEL SICK. THEY DETERMINED THAT PART OF THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS BROKEN BUT TOLD ME NOT TO HAVE IT FIXED BEFORE THE NEW SHORT BLOCK WAS INSTALLED AND THE EXHAUST SYSTEM WOULD JUST BECOME CLOGGED WITH THE OIL THE CAR WAS BURNING. I WENT AHEAD HAD HAD THE REPAIR DONE ANYWAY AS THE EXHAUST AIR WAS TERRIBLE.

WINDSHIELD CRACK APPEARED WITHOUT OBVIOUS CAUSE.

EXHAUST SYSTEM ISSUE. EXHAUST MAINFOLD LEAK AT CATALYST CONVERTER. FOR OUR OUTBACK WE NOTICED A SIGNIFICANT LEVELS OF EXHAUST FUMES IN PASSENGER CABIN. THEY WERE NO INDICATION OF FAILURE OF EXHAUST SYSTEM OR CATALYST CONVERTER ON THE CAR. BUT WE ARE GETTING SOME MUCH FUMES SMELL WHEN WE STOPPED AT THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL OR PARKING LOT. IT ALL MOST MADE US SICK. LUCKILY I GOT IT CHECKED AT THE SERVICE CENTER AND THEY FIND THE LEAK. THIS IS POTENTIALLY A VERY RISKY THING FOR PEOPLE WHO DON'T NOTICE THE SMELL MIGHT GET SLOW POISONED WITH CARBON MONOXIDE OR OTHER ELEMENTS IN EXHAUST FUMES. THERE MAY BE DIRECT INJURY FROM THIS ISSUE BUT AS I SAID I WAS ALMOST GOT SICK BECAUSE OF FUMES. FOR PEOPLE WITH PZEV VEHICLE, THE EXHAUST SYSTEM IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. PLEASE BRING THIS ISSUE WITH MANUFACTURING. FOR PEOPLE OUT THERE IF YOU NOTICE A LOUD EXHAUST NOTE AT START OF YOUR VEHICLE OR SMALL RATTLING NOISE WHEN WE YOU ACCELERATE AFTER A COMPLETE STOP, IT MIGHT BE YOUR EXHAUST SYSTEM, PLEASE GET IT CHECKED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. PS ATTACHED IS THE DIAGNOSIS REPORT FROM DEALER SERVICE CENTER BE SAFE OUT THERE !! THANK YOU.

THE PIPES THAT CONNECT TO MANIFOLD TO MUFFLER NEED TO BE REPLACED AFTER 50,000 MILES. SUBARU SAID THIS IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANT, BECAUSE IT IS NOT THE MANIFOLD.

WHILE PARKING THE CAR AT AN OPEN PARKING LOT IN SHOPPING CENTER AT LOW SPEED (<5MPH) THE ENGINE SURGED SUDDENLY AND THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED UNCONTROLLABLY. IT REQUIRED TREMENDOUS PRESSURE ON BRAKE TO EVENTUALLY OVERRIDE THE ENGINE.

THE SUNROOF ON THE VEHICLE EXPLODED RANDOMLY. CAUSING GLASS TO GO EVERYWHERE ALL OVER THE CAR WHILE ON THE FREEWAY.

SRVD SYSTEM KEEPING GETTING DISABLED FROM NO REASON, RANDOMLY.

SUNROOF EXLOSION. ON FEBRUARY 1, 2016 MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TO WORK AT ABOUT 8:00 AM RUSH HOUR AND WHILE IN THE MOVING LINE ENTERING THE EASTWARD US I69 AT THE TEXAS HWY 6 SOUTH ENTRANCE IN SUGAR LAND TEXAS, AT AN AVERAGE SPEED BETWEEN 5-10 MPG THE SUNROOF OF OUR 2016 SUBARU 3.6R WITH 11305 MILES EXPLODED AND SHATTERED INTO HUNDREDS OF SMALL PIECES THAT COLLECTED ON THE SUNLIGHT PROTECTIVE SCREEN. AFTER I TALKED TO MY WIFE AND VERIFIED THAT SHE HAD RECEIVED NO DAMAGE FROM THE INCIDENT I CALLED THE GILLMAN SOUTHWEST HOUSTON SUBARU DEALERSHIP WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR ON MAY 30 2015 AND MADE A SERVICE APPOINTMENT FOR THE NEXT DAY. DURING THE SERVICE CHECK-IN ON FEBRUARY 2, 2016 TOGETHER WITH THE GILLMAN SERVICE CONSULTANT WE LOOKED AS THOROUGHLY AS IT WAS POSSIBLE THROUGH THE GLASS DEBRIS TO TRY TO FIND ANY FOREIGN OBJECT THAT MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE DAMAGED BUT WE DID NOT FIND ANYTHING. I VERY SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED THAT WHEN THE SUNROOF WAS TAKEN OUT OF THE CAR FOR REPLACEMENT THAT THEY PERFORM ANOTHER SEARCH SINCE IT WOULD BE EASIER TO DO THE SEARCH WITH THE SUNROOF ASSEMBLY OUT ON THE FLOOR. WHEN THE CAR WAS REPAIRED AND RETURNED THE GILLMAN REPRESENTATIVE CONFIRMED THAT THEY HAD DONE ANOTHER SEARCH BUT FAILED TO FIND ANY FOREIGN OBJECT ON THE GLASS DEBRIS. BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT HAVE A SUNROOF ON STOCK I LEFT THE CAR ON THE DEALERSHIP UNTIL FEBRUARY 5, 2016 WHEN THE CAR WAS RETURNED. DURING THE CHECKOUT I WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT COVERED UNDER THE CAR WARRANTY BECAUSE IT WAS ASSUMED THAT A FOREIGN OBJECT HAD CAUSED THE DAMAGE AND I WAS CHARGED $666.34 THE DECEMBER 2017 EDITION OF CONSUMER REPORTS MADE ME REALIZE THAT THIS IS A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE THAT SHOULD BE REPORTED.

THERE IS A CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD THAT SHOWED UP ABOUT 5 MONTHS AND HAS INCREASED IN SIZE. BEFORE BRINING IT TO THE DEALER (NAPOLEON SUBARU IN SCHAUMBURG, IL), I HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC AND WAS TOLD THE CRACK WAS DUE TO THE FAULTY WINDSHIELD AND NOT BECAUSE OF ANY IMPACT. THERE HAS BEEN NO IMPACT TO THE WINDSHIELD TO MY KNOWLEDGE AND YET THE CRACK APPEARED AND HAS SPREAD. SUBARU DEALER SAID THAT THE CRACK MAY HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY AN IMPACT BUT AGAIN I DON'T RECOLLECT ANY IMPACT THAT COULD CAUSE THIS. THE SUBARU DEALER SAID HE DID HIS PEN POINT CHECK AND THE CRACK WAS NOT CAUSED BY SUBARU'S FAULT. WHAT THE SUBARU DEALER TOLD ME ABOUT THE PEN POINT CHECK MAKES NO SENSE TO ME ESPECIALLY AS THERE HAS BEEN NO IMPACT TO MY WINDSHIELD. I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT SUBARU AND THE DEALER ARE LYING ABOUT THE FAULTY WINDSHIELD AND ARE REFUSING TO REPLACE IT (WHICH I AM ASSUMING IS ALSO A FAULTY OEM PART). I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL CARS BEFORE AND I'VE NEVER HAD THIS ISSUE BEFORE. I REPEAT, NEVER BEFORE ON ANY CAR, ESPECIALLY A NEW CAR. I CHECKED WITH A LOCAL MECHANIC AND AGAIN, WAS TOLD THIS WAS LIKELY CAUSED BY FAULTY WINDSHIELD. EITHER TO AVOID ADMITTING FAULT OR TO AVOID PAYING FOR A RECALL FOR THIS ITEM OR FOR AVOIDING LIABILITY IN A LAWSUIT, I DON'T KNOW BUT I FEEL LIKE SUBARU IS DELIBERATELY LYING OR MISREPRESENTING THE FACTS ABOUT IT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I SHOULD EXPECT FROM WRITING THIS COMPLAINT BUT I AM WRITING BECAUSE I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS. WE WERE CONSIDERING A SUBARU FORRESTER FOR NEXT YEAR BUT I AM NOT GOING TO DO THAT NOW GIVEN HOW BADLY SUBARU IS TREATING ME ON THIS FAULT OF THEIRS. I SUSPECT SUBARU WILL NOT DO THE RIGHT THING DESPITE IT BEING SUBARU'S FAULT AT PUTTING IN A BAD WINDSHIELD AND INSTEAD PUSH THE COST TO THE CAR BUYERS. I CAN BE REACHED ON THE CELL AT [XXX]. THANKS. VOICE ACTIVATED NAVIGATION SYSTEM. THE VOICE ACTIVATED NAVIGATION SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY UNRELIABLE. THIS COULD LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING. I

I HAVE AN INTERMITTENT ISSUE WITH SLIDING THE DRIVER'S WINDOW, IT GOES UP AND RAPIDLY GOES DOWN, IT LOOKS LIKE IT DOESN'T FIT TO THE UPPER FRAME, IT IS ESPECIALLY INCONVENIENT WHILE RAINING. THAT PROBLEM APPEARS WHILE DRIVING OR PARKING.

PASSENGER SIDE BLIND SPOT INDICATOR IS INTERMITTENT (PERHAPS 50%). IT DOES NOT ALWAYS INDICATE THAT AN OBJECT IS IN IT'S VIEW WHEN IT ACTUALLY IS. IF YOU DEPEND UPON THIS DEVICE TO MAKE LANE CHANGES, YOU COULD HAVE A COLLISION. IT FAILS WHILE MOVING AT ANY SPEED ABOVE ABOUT 5-10 MPH AND WEATHER DOES NOT SEEM TO BE A FACTOR. I HAVE HAD IT IN TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES AND HE IS UNABLE TO FIX IT EVEN AFTER REPLACING BOTH BLIND SPOT SENSORS. THIS PROBLEM STARTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS BRAND NEW AND CONTINUES TO DATE. THE DEALER GAVE ME A 2016 LOANER MODEL WHEN WORKING ON MY CAR AND IT HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.

BLIND SPOT DETECTION (ALSO CALLED SRVD) DID NOT WORK WHEN WE PICKED UP THE NEW CAR IN FEB 2015 THE FIRST TIME FROM DEALER. WE DID NOT NOTICE IT AT THE TIME. WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER TO HAVE IT REPAIRED. THEY REPLACED A PART AT NO CHARGE UNDER WARRANTY. THE SRVD FEATURE WORKED FOR 6 MONTHS. THE DEALER REPAIRED THE SRVD. IT FAILED AGAIN JUST 2 MONTHS LATER. WE ARE GOING BACK INTO THE SHOP FOR THE 3RD TIME TO FIX THE SRVD.

RIGHT REAR PASSGER WINDOW BLEW OUT AND SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY.

ON SEPT.27TH, 2015, THE LIFTGATE OPENED ON ITS OWN. MANY TIMES THE LIGHTS ,ONE AT A TIME, OVER THE MIRROR, WILL TURN ON AND BE HOT TO THE TOUCH WHEN I GET INTO THE CAR AFTER BEING OUT OF CAR FOR HOURS OR OVER NIGHT.THE LIFTGATE IS A RECURRING PROBLEM,AS ARE THE LIGHTS.ALSO, THE BLUETOOTH TELLS ME I AM CALLING MYSELF FREQUENTLY.ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS?? ONCE THE LIFTGATE OPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION. I HAVE NOTES ON DATES & TIMES

THE POWER LIFT TAILGATE DOES NOT OPEN ROUTINELY IN COLD WEATHER. WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 40 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT, THE POWER LIFT TAILGATE MAY NOT OPEN OR LOCK PROPERLY UNTIL THE CAR HAS ACHIEVED A STABLE INTERIOR CABIN TEMPERATURE OF 70 DEGREES FAHRENHEIT OR HIGHER. THIS PROBLEM STARTED IN OCTOBER OF 2015, NOT LONG AFTER THE VEHICLE HAD EYESIGHT SYSTEM RECALL SERVICE. THE PROBLEM IS MOST LIKELY TO OCCUR WHEN THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN NOT BEEN RUNNING OR HAS BEEN PARKED FOR SEVERAL HOURS DURING COLD WEATHER. I HAVE CALLED AND HAVE SPOKEN WITH AT LEAST THREE DIFFERENT SUBARU DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND ALL CLAIM TO BE UNAWARE OF THE PROBLEM, EXCEPT IN OCTOBER (2016) ONE SERVICE MANAGER DID STATE HE BELIEVED A BULLETIN ABOUT THE PROBLEM COULD BE FORTHCOMING.

LINES HAVE APPEARED ACROSS MY NAVIGATION SCREEN. LINES MAKE THE SCREEN ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO READ THE SCREEN ESPECIALLY IN STRONG LIGHT DUE TO THE GLARE. THE BACK UP CAMERA VIEW IS ALSO IMPEDED BY THE LINES AND THE GLARE. THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THIS IS NORMAL AS IT IS PART OF THE TOUCH SCREEN. THESE LINES WERE NOT ON THE SCREEN FOR THE FIRST YEAR I HAD THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WILL NOT ADDRESS THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE LINES APPEAR AT ALL TIMES (WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING OR STOPPED).

I WAS FORCED TO REPLACE A 2ND FAILED WHEEL BEARING (LEFT FRONT WHEEL) ON MY 2015 SUBARU OUTBACK 4CYL. LIMITED AFTER 35270 MILES TODAY 29JULY2016. THE FIRST FAILED WHEEL BEARING TO BE REPLACED OCCURRED ON 15JANUARY2016 INVOLVING THE LEFT REAR WHEEL. IN BOTH CASES ABNORMAL NOISE LEVELS WHILE DRIVING FROM THE RESPECTIVE INVOLVED CORNERS OF THE CAR LEAD ME CONTACT TO DEALER TO CONFIRM SUSPICIONS OF POTENTIAL WHEEL BEARING FAILURE IN THE MAKING. BOTH BEARINGS WERE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTEE CONDITIONS AND I AM FOR THE MOST PART SATISFIED WITH THE REPAIRS PERFORMED. HOWEVER, HAVING TWO BEARINGS FAIL THAT NORMALLY COULD BE EXPECTED TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR LEADS ME TO CONCLUDE THAT THERE IS A BATCH OF DEFECTIVE BEARINGS PRODUCED FOR SUBARU THAT MAY ALSO BE FOUND ON OTHER CARS ASSEMBLED APPROXIMATELY THE SAME TIME MY CAR WAS MADE IN DECEMBER 2014 AT SUBARU'S INDIANA ASSEMBLY PLANT. I FEEL THIS IS WORTH A FURTHER INVESTIGATION BY YOUR ORGANIZATION AS MOST CONSUMERS PROBABLY DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHAT A FAILING WHEEL BEARING SOUNDS LIKE AND MORE LIKELY HAVE NO IDEA HOW POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IT IS TO IGNORE TO WARNING SIGNS TO THEIR DETRIMENT. DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND SUNROOF GLASS EXPLODED FOR NO KNOWN REASON. SHATTERED GLASS RAINED DOWN INTO DRIVER COMPARTMENT. SUNROOF WAS CLOSED AT THE TIME. HAD SIMILAR ISSUE WITH FRONT WINDSCREEN CRACKING FOR NO APPARENT REASON. CAR WAS SITTING IN DRIVEWAY.

SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING OUR VEHICLE, A PEBBLE HIT THE WINDSHIELD CAUSING A CHIP IN DRIVERS SIDE. CHIP WAS REPAIRED BY OUR DEALERSHIP, BUT WAS IN LINE OF VISION. WAS EXCEPTING THIS REPAIR, BUT THOUGHT THE WINDSHIELD MATERIAL WAS TOO SOFT OR BRITTLE FOR THIS SMALL REPAIR, NOW HAVE A BROKEN WINDSHIELD FROM CHIP ON LEFT SIDE, NEEDS REPLACING.

WHILE PARKED OVERNIGHT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD DEVELOPED A18 INCH HORIZONTAL CRACK AT EYE LEVEL STARTED FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE. THE CRACK IS TRAVELING. AIR TEMP WAS IN THE 70'S, NO RAIN OR HAIL, HAPPENED SOMETIME BETWEEN DEC 24-26, 2015. ODOMETER WAS 9200. I SAW ON A CAR COMPLAINTS WEBSITE MANY OTHER 2015 OUTBACKS WITH THE SAME ISSUE.

I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR 1 YEAR AND HAVE HAD 3 WINDSHIELDS CRACK. I HAVE NEVER HAD A CAR THAT HAD THIS MANY INCIDENTS WITH CRACKED WINDSHIELDS

THE WINDSHIELD CRACKED EARLIER THIS YEAR AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE CRACK EXTENDED FROM THE UPPER RIGHT TO THE DRIVERS SIDE. LAST WEEK A ROCK HIT MY WINDSHIELD AND WITHIN MINUTES A 2 FOOT CRACK APPEARED (EXTENDS FROM UPPER RIGHT TO THE MIDDLE). THE CRACK IS CONTINUING TO GROW. I'M CONCERNED THERE IS A SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE WINDSHIELD.

WINDSHIELD CRACKED WHILE DRIVING THROUGH LAKE TAHOE AREA WITHOUT ANY DEBRIS HITTING WINDSHIELD. THE CRACK STARTED AT LOWER PASSENGER CORNER AND HAS GROWN PAST MID SECTION OF THE WINDSHIELD. THIS IS THE 2ND WINDSHIELD DAMAGED BEYOND REPAIR ON THIS VEHICLE.

NOTICED A SMALL WINDSHIELD CRACK AND WAS TOLD IT COULDN'T BE REPAIRED. IT STAYED SMALL FOR A MONTH OR SO THEN SPREAD RAPIDLY WHEN WEATHER HEATED UP. I'VE HAD DINGS BEFORE IN PRIOR CARS' WINDSHIELDS, BUT NEVER A CRACK.

The windshield has developed a small crack on the passenger side behind the windshield wiper. I took it to the dealer and they claim there is an impact point at the origin of the crack, yet there is no evidence of any damage whatsoever to the wiper assembly. I washed the car on tuesday 8/11/15 and there was no crack then.

New windshield suffered a minor rock impact on the freeway. The crack propagated quickly. The windshield requires replacement, but the subaru dealers say there is a 3 month backlog!

7/28/15 - I came out to my 2015 subaru outback at the end of the work day and found a "v" shaped crack in my windshield, approx 9-11 inches in each direction, originating below the windshield wiper in the middle of the windshield. My first thought was defect in the glass since the temperature that day was approx. 7/29/15 - I went to the nearby dealership and upon inspection by the service dept.

We had the same experience with our windshield that others have had -- see, eg, complaint # 10730819. About two weeks after buying a new 2015 outback, while driving out of our somewhat steeply-angled garage, the windshield cracked. I saw no evidence of a stone hitting the windshield and thought there was a structural defect.

Windshield has failed twice with no impacts. Latest crack started after I closed the driver door...heard a pop, then watched a crack run from the upper right across the driver's line of sight over the course of a few seconds. There was no impact to the glass, which had been replaced less than 10 days earlier, which also failed mysteriously.

On 4/19/2015 was driving at 40 miles per hour in a heavy rain storm (I-75) in georgia a crack developed in the windshield. We could not identify a source of impact to the windshield. The crack started at the very bottom center of the windshield.

The horn stopped working on my vehicle. This puts my safety and other driver's safety at risk since I can not alert them if they are coming into my lane. I contacted Subaru Customer Advocacy but they are not willing to fix this problem.

Infomation unit stopped working and has moisture fog inside of it. I was using it for the map route in an area that I was not familiar with when it stopped working. I do not know how moisture could get in a sealed unit but it is over $22,000.

On my drive in to work this morning, the sunroof on my outback shattered with a loud bang. Fortunately the inside sun shade was closed, otherwise I would have been showered with glass while driving 50mph on the expressway. How does this happen?

The car experienced sudden reverse acceleration when the gear was switched to reverse. I had to floor the brake pedal to have the car stop. I was fortunate behind me was enough of grassy area for the car to stop.

Outback 2015 Windshield cracked with no obvious reason even at about 30 MPH.

I previously wrote to you back in mid-Sept. It was a problem with battery drainage on my Outback and the fact that many other Subaru owners were having the same problem. #[XXX] was the case # that I was assigned.

This car has had 5 batteries. The charging system tests fine. It’s not safe.

Windshield randomly cracked on its own. Similar issue as other have reported in past. Begins on passenger side in wiper park near heated zone and continues up across windshield for 12 inches or so.

I was pulling into a parking space and as I was gradually hitting the brakes, the car started to accelerate on its own at high speed hitting the fence in front. I am sure that I did not have my foot on the gas. I hit the brakes and it was of no use.

Automatic breaking activated for no reason but only for a very short time but very hard. Then released. There was a flash of something on the dash I think a breaking warning and beeping sound.

My dashboard releases vocs so much I cannot keep the windshield clean and the sun blinds my view because of it. I clean almost every day but the smog just gets moved around and will not clean. It is a terrible safety hazard.

While driving on highway with the sunroof closed, the sunroof glass shattered sending most of the glass out of the car, but some landed on the driver, passenger, and center armrest. There were no other vehicles within a mile of it. We were wearing sunglasses which protected our eyes.

Subaru rear vehicle detection (srvd) system has failed after owning car for 16 months. The 2015 outback has very bad blind spots and presents a very unsafe condition while operating the vehicle in traffic with this system inoperative.

The windshield cracked horizontally on the driver's side. Nothing hit the windshield to cause the crack. It was fine when I got home from work and parked the vehicle in the garage; the following morning the crack was there.

Interior rear view mirror broke off the mounting with glass attached to the mounting. Their was no forceful movement or adjustment being applied to the mirror at the time, it just came down. Distracting my driving.

I was at work today and when I left I sat in the outback for about 10 min with the air conditioning on and made phone calls. When I got ready to take off I heard a crack. I looked around and didn't see anything.

Crack in the windshield appeared over the weekend. Started in the lower corner on the passenger's side and spread about 2/3 of the way to driver's side.

I was driving on the highway and heard a random cracking sound. I then heard it again couple minutes later. Drove home and didn't see anything for several days.

Navigation system screen has serious glare during daylight hours. Almost drove off road into a ditch yesterday, while trying to see screen. No one else on road.

Windshield found cracked unexpectedly when coming out from a store. 6" crack grew quickly over 2 weeks, spreading all over the passenger side in a branched formation about 2x1'. Yesterday, another crack developed in front of the driver's side and is compromising visibility with a glare from the crack and growing quickly again.

Was driving and a small rock hit the windshield. I didn't think any thing of it at the time. I parked car in the driveway.

After just picking up my new 2015 subaru outback and driving in bright sunlight, I realized there is a hazardous condition related to the car's infotainment center. The area surrounding the display screen is an extremely glossy black mirror-like reflective surface. While driving, the sun reflects off of this surface into the eyes of the driver.
