Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2010-2014 Tribeca, WRX, Outback, and Legacy vehicles, 2010-2011 Impreza vehicles and 2010-2013 Forester vehicles sold, or ever registered, in the states of Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger frontal air bag, these inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.

Fix: Subaru is notifying owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began January 25, 2019. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Subaru's number for this recall is TKB-19.

THESE VEHICLES MAY BE EQUIPPED WITH SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS THAT CONTAIN AN INCORRECT PROPELLANT MIXTURE FOR THE INITIATOR COMPONENT USED, RESULTING IN INSUFFICIENT OUTPUT OF COMPRESSED GAS.

Your car was involved in a head-on collision with a concrete barrier at 65 mph. Despite the severe impact that totaled the vehicle, the driver-side airbag did not deploy, even though it had been replaced as part of a Takata airbag recall at a Subaru dealership. The driver was wearing a seatbelt but suffered a bruised sternum and PTSD from the crash. There were no warning lights indicating the airbag was disabled before the collision. A repair or replacement of the airbag system may be needed to ensure it functions properly in future impacts.

Good morning. Had to replace 3 car battery in 3 years, can not leave key in Ignition car goes dead, have to jump to start car more times I can remember. It's take more time to start, sometimes won't start. Had to call aaa road service. Airbag light came on. Tuck to subaru dealer in quincy ma. Came back with numerous codes on airbags failing and Electrical harness, Dealer advice replacing all air bags and harness.

COLD RAINY MORNING, I STARTED THE CAR FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH NO ONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND STAYED ON, THE PASSENGER SEATBELT LIGHT IS ON AND CAR IS DINGING LIKE SOMEONE IN THE PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT WEARING A SEAT BELT. DOES NOT TURN OFF WHEN SEAT BELT IS CLIPPED. I TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAY IT'S A BAD ELECTROSTATIC CAPACITANCE SENSOR ODS. THE 'PART' AKA REPLACING THE WHOLE SEAT IS $900. BOTH SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS, BOTH SIDE IMPACT SENSORS, AND THE AIR BAG MODULE WERE REPLACED. THE CODES ARE F2-SIDE SENSOR BUS LH COMMUNICATION ERROR. EA-SIDE SENSOR BUS RH COMMUNICATION. 41-SIDE AIR BAG RH FAILURE. 27 ODS COMMUNICATION ERROR. CANNOT CLEAR ANY CODES STILL. THEN INSTALLED TEST HARNESSES AT AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE AND ODS AND RIGHT SEAT AIR BAG MODULE. PERFORMED OHM TEST - NEED TO START WITH ODS AND BOTH SIDE AIRBAG MODULES. STILL DID NOT CLEAR AIR BAG LIGHT. SO THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. PLEASE INSPECT THIS VEHICLE ASAP THIS IS COSTING A FORTUNE. I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO UPLOAD ANY THING OR I WOULD TRY.

TOOK TO DEALER NEXT DAY, GOT CODE DTC29. OCCUPANCY DETECTION SYSTEM GOT RECALIBRATED AND ZEROED AND DID NOT COME BACK ON. *TT
