ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING:ENGINE:GASOLINE:TURBO/SUPERCHARGER
Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain model year 2015-2016 WRX vehicles manufactured April 10, 2015, to October 21, 2015, and Forester 2.0XT vehicles manufactured April 10, 2015, to October 20, 2015. The turbocharger air intake duct may crack and possibly result in an engine stall.
Fix: Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the turbocharger air intake duct, and replace it as necessary, free of charge, depending on the lot number found on the duct. The recall began April 2016. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-800-782-2783. Subaru's number for this recall is WTA-62.

Your car has stalled twice on the highway with no warning—once shutting down completely and once losing power while accelerating. Both times it happened when the fuel gauge showed 2 bars remaining, and the car restarted after waiting or a few minutes. The dealer couldn't identify the cause because they couldn't reproduce the problem.

I was traveling on the freeway going 65mph, when with no warning my car's engine stop. I tough it was out of gas, but the computer was telling me I had 30 more miles of fuel. At the time of this accident there was no shoulder to park because of construction on the freeway.

For the past few weeks I have been having major issues with this vehicle. The vehicle shakes as if it is going to stall. While on the highway or the street the rpms and power will suddenly drop and when I push on the accelerator the RPM revs up to a 5 or 6 but with little power and the engine shakes for the vehicle to even start moving forward.

I have had excessive oil consumption since the first 3k miles driven on the car. I have gone through a slew of consumption tests, had the short block replaced and I am continuing to have the same issues. Subaru's only offer is to go through more consumption tests and a possible 2 motor replacement.

While driving 75-80 MPH on the interstate, I lost the ability to accelerate. Luckily I was able to change lanes ( I was in the middle lane when I lost power) and pull over. All the lights were on (check engine, at oil temp, battery,ect) and what I was able to stop the car, it stalled.

Retailer failed VSI due to a defective cracked catalytic converter under warranty. Part is still in use because retailer refuses to service vehicle forcing me to operate my unsafe vehicle endangering myself and family including my then [XXX] son. Cam carrier/front cover seal failed on our 2015 Forester with the 6 speed MT. This oil leak has ruined the O2 sensor, the drivers side VVT solenoid and according to the dealer has caused oil to run down the wiring harness which will cause further sensor failures if not corrected. All told the dealer wants over $3700 to fix the issues and will not warranty any parts unless the oil leak is fixed.

I have done research and noticed that the engine is a problem with the 2015 Subaru Forester. The engine consumes oil at a very high rate. I get my oil changed (fully synthetic) every 5,000 miles.

IT RANDOMLY HAPPENS. THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT MANY TIMES DUE TO NO CODE EVEN THOUGH THEY DROVE IT AND COULD SEE THE ISSUE. WHEN IT DID CODE THEY FIXED IT BUT ALWAYS A SURGE DIFFERENT CODES. THEY HAVE REPLACE FUEL SENSORS, VALUES, ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS, MY KEY, FUEL LINE, SPARK PLUGS, ETC ALL FOR THIS SAME ISSUES. THERE ARE SEVERAL LAWSUITS IN OTHER STATES ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. I JUST WANT THEM TO PURCHASE MY VEHICLE BACK OR REPLACE IT WITH ONE THAT WORKS PROPERLY. PLEASE HELP.

This is a follow-up on 12/05/15 (nhstsa id 10808561) - problem on check engine oil around 1,500 miles before the next scheduled oil change. Reported to subaru and did an oil consumption study, basically bringing the car to a subaru dealer at 1,200 miles after an oil change. Asked the technician at dealer what they did.
