Your truck's brake system may have a serious issue—when you stopped at a traffic light after picking it up from the shop, your truck veered sharply to the left. Before this, your dashboard showed ESP, ABS, and traction control warning lights, and your gear shift was stuck in park. The shop has inspected the problem twice but hasn't found anything, and your serpentine belt also broke shortly after they cleared you to drive. A mechanic needs to thoroughly diagnose why your truck is pulling to one side during braking and why those brake-related warning lights appeared.

While driving at 40 mph, your truck made an abnormal sound and the ESP, traction control, and ABS warning lights turned on. The dealer replaced the tire pressure pump, but the problem happened again. The dealer then said the ABS module needed to be replaced, but the manufacturer says this part is no longer available. Fixing this will likely require finding a replacement ABS module, either from a salvage yard or an aftermarket supplier, and having it installed by a technician.

BRAKES FAILED APPROACHING A VERY BUSY INTERSECTION, WHILE TRYING TO SLOW DOWN FROM A 55-MPH ZONE. THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BRAKE RESPONSE. LUCKILY, I HAD THE SENSE TO PUMP THE BRAKES QUICKLY BEFORE PLOWING INTO THE BUSY INTERSECTION! TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE DODGE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED AFTER A COUPLE OF DAYS THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE MASTER BOOST PUMP, BUT THEY DID NOT HAVE ONE IN STOCK. BASICALLY, GOT MY TRUCK BACK A WEEK LATER AND WAS IN SHOCK OVER THE COST TO REPLACE ABOUT A $125 PART (AROUND $500). I NOTICED THAT THERE HAD BEEN RECALLS PERTAINING TO PROBLEMS IN THIS AREA WITH PREVIOUS YEAR MODELS AND EVEN 2010 YEAR MODELS, BUT WAS INFORMED THAT MY PARTICULAR VIN# WAS NOT AFFECTED...THINK THEY MAY NEED TO LOOK INTO THIS TO AVOID SOMEONE POSSIBLY BEING KILLED OR KILLING SOMEONE FROM A SIMILAR PROBLEM! COULD HAVE BEEN CATASTROPHIC! AT THE VERY MINIMUM, DODGE SHOULD ISSUE A TSB AND SHOULD REFUND $$ FOR THE REPAIR!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,000.

A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 11,800. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE FAILURE SEVERAL TIMES AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE DEALER WAS NEVER ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 400 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,800.
