STRUCTURE:BODY
Nissan is recalling certain model year 2014 Versa Note vehicles manufactured April 23, 2013, through July 3, 2013. The lower body sill bolts may be missing or incorrectly torqued.
Fix: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install and tighten to specification the lower body sill bolts, as needed, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin August 19, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

The contact owns a 2014 Nissan Versa Note. The contact stated upon starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light and the brake warning light illuminated. The contact also stated she noticed water underneath the front passenger’s seat. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the cowl drain was clogged and was causing water retention. The dealer informed the contact that the failure had led to an electrical issue. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.
The floor mat of the driver side has two (2)plastics hooks to hold the mat in place. If the hooks are broken or missing the mat slice of the accelerator and brake paddle. If the mat is on top or bottom of the paddle, it interferes with the brake or accelerator. These are two (2) plastic hooks. I called the dealer and Nissan does not offer these parts, the plastics hooks. The only offer the WHOLE carpet with the hooks for $500 plus. This is absurd. This means that I need to pay $500 for TWO plastics hooks. Remember if this hooks are not holding the mat an incident can occur. In my opinion, this is a safety issue. Nissan SHOULD have this parts available or provide parts more durable, no plastic parts.
THE DESIGN OF THE WINDSHIELD TO THE DOORS IS HAZARDOUS AS IT LIMITS VISIBILITY. ALSO THE BACK IS LIMITED AS WELL. I WAS BROADSIDED OR SIDESWIPED AND IT WAS NOT MY FAULT YET THE WAY THEY WROTE THE REPORT PUT ME AT FAULT.
MY CAR JERKS WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE. ALSO, WHEN I LET PUSH FOR THE GAS, IT JERKS. THIS IS WHEN I FIRST GET OFF THE GAS. THEN WHEN I GET TO FOURTY MILES, IT JERKS AGAIN. MY MALFUNCTION LAMP LIGHT COMES ON. I TOOK IT AT ONE OF THE AUTO ZONES IN FAYETTEVILLE NC. THE ASSOCIATE CHECK IT WITH A MACHINE. IT CAME UP P285A CLUTCH B PRESSURE DISENGAGEMENT PERFORMANCE. THEN, I TOOK IT TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC. HE CHECKED IT WITH HIS MACHINE, HE SAID IT IS MY TRANSMISSION. I FEEL NISSAN SHOULD FIX MY TRANSMISSION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 NISSAN VERSA. DURING INCLEMENT, RAINY WEATHER, THE CONTACT HEARD THE SOUND OF WATER SWISHING AROUND NEAR THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT NOTICED WATER INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MORE THAN TWICE, BUT THEY FAILED TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

PARKED MY CAR, AS I WAS WALKING AROUND TO THE PASSENGER SIDE HEARD A "CLICK" NOISE AND MY WINDSHIELD CRACKED. NOTHING HIT MY WINDSHIELD, IT JUST CRACKED. THE CRACK IS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FROM THE LOWER CORNER AND GOES UP ALL THE WAY TO THE CENTER OF THE WINDSHIELD.
AFTER BEING READY TO BACK UP I PLACE THE 2014 VERSA IN REVERSE. I TOUCHED THE ACCELERATOR AND STARTED TO BACK UP AND WHEN I TRIED TO MOVE MY FOOT FROM THE ACCELERATOR TO THE BRAKE PEDAL MY FOOT WAS CAUGHT ON SOMETHING AND I WAS ACTUALLY ADDED PRESSURE ON THE ACCELERATOR. I BACKED UP AND I TRIED TO SWING THE CAR AWAY FROM THE PARKED RENTAL CARS BEHIND ME. WAS ABLE TO PULL MY FOOT OF THE ACCELERATOR AND PUSHED THE SHIFTER INTO PARK. I HIT THREE CARS WHEN I WAS BACKING UP. WE DAMAGED OUR REAR FACIA AND THE REAR FACIAS OF THE THREE CARS I HIT AND IT ALSO DAMAGED THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR OF LAST CAR I HIT. WHILE EXAMINING THE DAMAGE OF FORM THE ACCIDENT A SUPERVISOR FROM THE RENTAL COMPANY SAID WE SHOULDN'T FEEL SO BAD SINCE ONE OF THEIR DRIVERS HAD DONE SOMETHING SIMILAR BUT ONLY DAMAGED THE CAR THAT HE WAS MOVING. AT FIRST I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED IT AND THEN I SAW THE RECENT NTSB ISSUES FOR THIS. I ALSO CHECK ALL OF MY OTHER CARS. THOSE CARS DO NOT HAVE A GAP BETWEEN THE FLOOR BOARD AND THE SIDE OF THE CONSEL. I HAVE NOT GOT TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THE CONDITION EXISTS ON CURRENT MODELS. THE MODEL YEAR MIGHT NOT BE CORRECT I WAS JUST TRYING TO REMEMBER IS THIS WAS A 14 OR 15. THE VIN I GOT FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY SO IT HAS TO BE WHAT EVER COMES FROM THERE. *TR
STEP DAUGHTER STATED BRAKE PEDAL WENT COMPLETELY TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT ENGAGING THE BRAKES CAUSING HER TO CRASH INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TR
DRIVING TO ALA. FROM GA. HAD DIFFICULT TIME SEEING OUT WINDOWS AND WINDSHIELD DUE TO CONDENSATION BUILDING UP INSIDE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, PASSENGER SIDE, AND WINDSHIELD. IT WAS RAINING & DIFF IN TEMP., HAD TO STOP SEVERAL TIMES AND WIPE OFF WITH CLOTH TOWELS. WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO GET RADIO REPLACED AND SHOWED THEM THE TRUNK WAS WET (CARPET SHOWED RINGS) AND THE RIGHT DRIVERS DOOR HAD BIG GAP BETWEEN THE FRONT OF THE CAR AND DOOR FRAME AREA - IT IS SEPARATING FROM THE FRAME ON BOTH SIDES. THE FRONT DOORS ON BOTH SIDES ARE BELOW THE BACK DOORS AND THE GAPS ARE INCREASING WHENEVER I DRIVE THE CAR. INSIDE THE WINDSHIELD SEAL PLASTIC HAS STARTED TO PEEL OFF TWICE. THE WIPER BLADES HAS BEEN REPLACED THREE TIMES BECAUSE THEY JUST START TO TEAR IN SMALL AREAS. ALL OF THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT AND SEEN BY THE SERVICE DEPT. EVEN WHEN THE MOISTURE COLLECTS INSIDE DURING A RAIN SHOWER (DEFROSTER WON'T PREVENT THIS) . THEY HAVE REFUSED TO FIX THE LEAK IN THE TRUNK OR THE DOORS. I AM SCARED THAT ONE OF THE DOORS WILL FALL OFF. THE GAP HAS INCREASED IN 6 WEEKS YOU CAN STAND 2 FT. AWAY AND SEE THE SCREWS. I CAN HARDLY LOCK THE CAR (MANUALLY). NO NISSAN DEALERSHIP WILL FIX IT WITHIN 120 MILES. I DO NOT KNOW WHY. THE MANUFACTURER KNOWS THIS AND IT IS UNDER WARRANTY. ALSO, THERE IS A AWFUL SMELL WHEN I START IT WITHIN THE SYSTEM, BUT THEY SAID IT WAS ME NOT THE CAR. *TR
THE CAR ON COLD DAYS AND SOME NOT COLD DAYS, AND COULD JUST HAD SAT FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS, WOULD FEEL/HEAR CRUNCHING SOUND (LIKE METAL BARS BEGINNING TO DISLODGE OR SOMETHING OF THAT NATURE) UNDER THE FLOOR BOARD AFTER ACCELERATION AND CAR STARTS TO MOVE. THIS IS ONLY ON DRIVER SIDE. IT DOES NOT HAPPEN EVERY TIME. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES AND REPORTED THIS TO HAVE IT LOOKED AFTER. TO NO AVAIL, THE CRUNCHING PROBLEM IS YET TO BE DISCOVERED BY A SERVICE MAN. THEY HAVE YET TO FIND THE PROBLEM. IT HAS BEEN REPORTED FOR CHECK-UP AND DOCUMENTED MANY AND EVERY TIME I HAVE OIL CHANGES AS WELL. I HAVE BEEN REPORTING THIS PROBLEM TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE 12/2013 AND NOW HERE IT IS MARCH 2015 THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. *TR
2014 VERSA NOTE SV BOUGHT NEW, FOUND RUST ON THE 3RD DAY OF PURCHASE IN 12+ AREAS UNDERNEATH INCLUDING SUB-FRAME AND VARIOUS COMPONENTS. COMPLAINED AND REQUESTED REPLACEMENT WITH A RUST FREE CAR. NISSAN WON'T REPLACE OR REFUND DESPITE EXTENSIVE CORRESPONDENCE, EMAILS, PHONE CALLS, VISITS TO THE DEALER, FURNISHING DATE STAMPED PICTURES OF RUST AREAS. NISSAN IS DRAGGING ITS FEET WITH FEEBLE EXCUSES - ' NO EXCESSIVE RUST FOUND' "RUST IS NOT AFFECTING SAFETY OF THE CAR' 'RUST NOT AFFECTING PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR' - WHICH IS WHY THEY WILL NOT REPLACE IT. UPON TELLING THEM THAT THE DUE TO RUST, THE RESALE VALUE OF CAR IS SEVERELY DIMINISHED TO JUNK CAR VALUE - THEY HAVE NOTHING TO SAY. FILED COMPLAINTS WITH AUTHORITIES INCLUDING THE ATTORNEY GENERAL BUT THEY ARE SLOW TO PROCESS SO NOTHING HAS COME OF IT SO FAR AND NISSAN WON'T STAND BEHIND ITS PRODUCTS. BBB AUTOLINE HAS SIDED WITH NISSAN AND THEY JUST PISSED ON THE LEMON LAW DOING THAT - DESPITE PROVIDING SCORES OF DATE STAMPED PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE RUST AREAS. NISSAN IS NOT GIVING ME A CHARITY CAR, NOR IT IS A USED CAR THAT THEY HAVE SOLD ME. I HAVE PAID FULL PRICE WITH HIGH INTEREST FOR 6 YEARS THAT I AM GOING TO BE PAYING AND I DESERVE A RUST FREE CAR WITHOUT DEFECTS BUT NISSAN DOES NOT SEEM TO AGREE TO THAT. PEOPLE, PLEASE THINK A THOUSAND TIMES BEFORE BUYING A NISSAN. A COMPANY THAT IS TRYING TO GET AWAY USING EVERY LAME EXCUSE. I AM AFRAID THAT NISSAN MAY HAVE SOLD A LARGE NUMBER OF CARS TO BUYERS, WITH RUST SIMPLY BECAUSE THE AMERICAN BUYER TRUSTS MANUFACTURERS FOR THEIR QUALITY AND INTEGRITY - BUT NOT IN CASE OF NISSAN. STOPPED AT PARKING LOT BOOTH WHICH WAS PLACED WITHIN ONE FOOT OF SIDEWALK, PREVENTING STRAIGHTENING OF FRONT WHEELS, WHICH WERE TURNED TO THE LEFT FOLLOWING A LEFT TURN INTO THE LOT. AFTER PAYMENT THROUGH PASSENGER WINDOW, I PLACED A FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR RESULTING IN SUDDEN UNEXPECTEDLY RAPID ACCELERATION AND A LURCH OF THE CAR TO THE LEFT WITH ALMOST IMMEDIATE IMPACT WITH A CONCRETE CYLINDRIC POST PLACED OPPOSITE THE RISEN ENTRANCE GATE WITHIN 2 FEET OF THE FRONT OF THE PREVIOUSLY STATIONARY CAR. THE FORCE WAS SUCH TO BEND THE RIM OF THE FRONT L WHEEL, STRIKING OF MY HEAD AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD, AND THE FRACTURE OF 2 METATARSALS LIKELY FROM IMPACT WITH THE BRAKE. *TR
THERE IS NO TRUNK RELEASE INSIDE THE CAR'S CAB! NO BUTTON OR PULL LEVER ONLY WAY IN IS WITH THE KEY. WHAT IF A SMALL CHILD SHUT THE TRUNK AND WAS NOT ABLE TO COMPREHEND THE LEVER INSIDE THE TRUNK? VERY VERY DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE WHO MAY DRIVE THIS CAR EVEN A LOCKSMITH HAD TO COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLE THE BACK SEAT OF THE CAR TO GAIN ENTRY. THIS IS NO WAY ACCEPTABLE AND I WILL NEVER DRIVE/OWN ANY CAR THAT DOES NOT HAVE TRUNK SWITCH/BUTTON/LEVER EVER AGAIN! I CANNOT PUT IN WORDS HOW DISAPPOINTED I AM WITH THE PERSON WHO PASSED A VEHICLE WITH THE ONLY WAY INTO THE TRUNK IS WITH A KEY! THE CAR WAS RENTED FROM FOX RENTAL CAR FROM THE ORLANDO FL LOCATION PICTURES MAY BE PROVIDED UPON FORMAL REQUEST. UPON RETURNING THE CAR WE NOTIFIED THE MANAGER OF THAT LOCATION OF THIS ISSUE AS WELL. *JS
WHILE I WAS DRIVING ONE DAY MY FOOT WAS ON THE GAS, CARS IN FRONT OF ME WERE COMING TO A SUDDEN STOP. I WENT TO REMOVE MY FOOT FROM THE GAS TO BRAKE AND MY SHOE WAS STUCK IN THE PLASTIC AREA NEAR THE GAS PEDAL. I HAD TO SNATCH IT OUT. SOME HOW THE PLASTIC SNAGGED ON TO MY SHOE. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST OR LAST TIME, BUT THE SCARIEST. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE FEBRUARY THIS YEAR, 2014. *TR ... UPDATED 03/19/15*BF
THIS WAS JUST A RENTAL VEHICLE, BUT THIS PROBLEM WAS SERIOUS ENOUGH THAT I FEEL IT NECESSARY TO REPORT. THERE IS A RECESSED WELL ABOVE THE ACCELERATOR THAT TRAPS YOUR FOOT. SEVERAL TIMES WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE, I WOULD ATTEMPT TO PIVOT MY FOOT ON ITS HEEL OFF THE ACCELERATOR OVER TO THE BRAKE, ONLY TO FIND MY FOOT TRAPPED IN THE RECESSED SPACE ABOVE THE ACCELERATOR. I WOULD THEN HAVE TO RELAX MY FOOT AND PULL IT BACK IN ORDER TO RELEASE MY FOOT AND MOVE OVER TO THE BRAKE. THIS DELAYED BRAKING TIME SEVERAL TIMES UNLESS I WAS CONSCIOUSLY PAYING ATTENTION TO AVOID GETTING MY FOOT TRAPPED. I WEAR A SIZE 12.5 SHOE, BUT THAT'S NOT INORDINATELY LARGE. *TR
