I was driving along at 50 mh and all the sudden drops down to 30 mp and even thought I push peddle to floor it won't go above 40 mh and starts trying to cut off this has happened a few times to me as well as my mom who drove my car. This is a serious safety issue that needs to be addressed ..
MY CAR IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AS I HAVE HAD CLOSE CALLS FOR BEING IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. I AM SCARED TO DEATH TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE ANYWHERE BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE AS THIS IS MY ONLY VEHICLE. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2020 AND HAVE CHILDREN THAT ARE IN THE CAR WITH ME. I HAVE NEVER FEARED FOR OUR SAFETY IN ANY VEHICLE THAT I HAVE OWNED PREVIOUSLY. THE RPM'S ALSO GO HIGH AND SWITCHES GEARS ONLY WHEN I LET OFF THE GAS. THESE ARE PROBLEMS THAT HAVE EVERY TIME THAT I DRIVE THE VEHICLE. AS A SINGLE MOM I'M AT MY WHITT'S END AND NEED THIS PROBLEM FIXED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY.
WHEN ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC, AFTER A DEAD STOP IN AN INTERSECTION WAITING TO TURN, OR WHEN CHANGING LANES THE CAR WOULD JUST STOP ACCELERATING. IT WOULD NOT MOVE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. THREE TIMES TRAFFIC HAD TO SLOW TO WAIT FOR MY CAR TO MOVE. NISSAN DEALER SERVICE SAID IT WAS BRAKE SWITCH FAILURE. WHEN REPLACED THE PROBLEM STOPPED.
TAKING A SHORT DAY TRIP, ABOUT A 2 AND A HALF HOUR DRIVE, MY CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING ABOUT AN HOUR IN. GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING HAPPENED. ON THE WAY BACK HOME IT WAS WORSE WE HAD TO STOP ALMOST EVERY 10-20 MILES TO LET THE CAR REST. I JUST HAD THIS TRANSMISSION REPLACED ABOUT A MONTH AGO. I WOULD STOP TO MAYBE COOL DOWN THE TRANSMISSION FOR ABOUT 15-30 MINUTES, THEN IT ACTS LIKE NOTHING WAS WRONG. IT ALSO HAS A WHINING NOISE LIKE SOMETHING IS WINDING UP.
THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I WAS DRIVING TO LEXINGTON FROM CHARLESTON AND ABOUT ONE HOUR AND 1/2 THE CAR WOULDN'T GO ANY FASTER AND THEN IT STARTED DROPPING SPEED PRETTY FAST , IT DROPPED ALL THE WAY TO 35 MPH, I HAD MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR WITH ME SHE WAS SCARED TO DEATH SOMEONE WAS GOING TO HIT US, I PULLED ONTO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY AND SAT FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES STARTED IT BACK UP AND KEPT MY SPEED ABOUT 65MPH, AND IT WAS OKAY. IT JUST HAPPENED THIS WEEKEND WHEN I WAS DRIVING FROM CHARLESTON TO CHARLOTTE, ABOUT 45 MINUTES AWAY THE CAR WOULDNT GO ANY FASTER AND IT STARTED DROPPING SPEED FAST, HAD THE PETAL TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING. I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES POPPED THE HOOD IT WAS NOT RUNNING HOT. I THEN PULLED OFF AGAIN TO TRY TO GET TO A GAS STATION AND IT STARTED UP AND THEN ABOUT 2 MINUTES PASSED AND IT WOULDNT GO ANY FASTER, PULLED OFF ON THE EXIT AND BARLEY MADE IT TO THE GAS STATION, THIS TIME I LET IT SIT FOR A GOOD 30 MINUTES OR SO. I THEN GOT BACK ON THE HWY BUT WOULDN'T GO OVER 65MPH AND IT WAS OKAY. THIS IS KNOWN ISSUE AND IT SEEMS LIKE NISSAN IS AWARE BUT THEY ARE DOING NOTHING TO FIX IT.. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO WARNING NO LIGHT COMES ON AND YOU JUST START DROPPING SPEED FAST, SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR KILLED THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL IMMEDIATELY!!!
I BOUGHT NISSAN ROGUE 2010 WITH A CLEAN TITLE IN DECEMBER OF 2013. I STARTED HAVING SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH MY CAR IN THE SPRING OF 2014. I BEGAN HEARING A WHINING SOUND ON ACCELERATION COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING ON LONG ROAD TRIPS. I DIDN'T THINK MUCH OF IT UP UNTIL A YEAR LATER, WAS SUDDENLY UNABLE TO ACCELERATE WHEN GOING UP HILL OR DRIVING LONGER THAN 20 MILES. THE PEDAL WAS DOWN TO THE FLOOR BUT RATHER THAN PICK UP SPEED, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE AND WAS UNABLE TO REACH EVEN 40 MPH. IT STARTED HAPPENING MORE AND MORE OFTEN, AND I ALMOST GOT INTO A CAR ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES. I WENT TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS AND FOUND OUT THAT NISSAN WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM WITH THEIR CVTS AND THAT THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 10 YEARS/120,000 MPH. HOWEVER, THEY WERE REFUSING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BECAUSE THERE WAS NO WAY TO DUPLICATE IT SINCE IT WOULD TAKE SEVERAL MILES OF DRIVING AROUND TO NOTICE ACCELERATION FAILURE. THE WHINING SOUND AND VIBRATION ARE NORMAL I WAS TOLD. AFTER GOING TO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS MULTIPLE TIMES AND TALKING WITH NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVES, IN DECEMBER 2016 I WAS FINALLY TOLD THAT THERE'S NO EXTENDED WARRANTY ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE NISSAN CANCELED MY CAR'S WARRANTY BACK IN 2014 BECAUSE OF A BRANDED TITLE. I CALLED DOL AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A MISTAKE DONE. THEY FIXED MY TITLE AND THERE'S NO BRAND ON IT. NOW I GOT A CALL FROM A NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIR REP MR DARIES WHO INFORMED ME THAT THEY ARE WORKING ON GETTING THE BRAND OFF OF MY TITLE AND IT SHOULD TAKE 4-6 WEEKS BUT THEY ARE TRYING TO EXPEDITE IT. HE PROMISED HE WOULD CALL ME REGULARLY WITH AN UPDATE. IT'S BEEN ALMOST TWO MONTHS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE. I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES LEAVING VOICEMAIL TO MR DARIES AND NEVER GOT A CALL BACK FROM HIM. I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE LONGER THAN 10 MILES WHEN MY CAR STARTS LOSING ACCELERATION AND HAS THIS HORRIBLE WHINING NOISE.
MY 2010 NISSAN ROUGE HAS 79,000 MILES AND WAS RECENTLY PURCHASED LESS THAN 3 MONTHS AGO. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY CAR SUDDENLY WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST 55MPH. I WOULD PUSH THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT IT STILL WOULD NOT ACCELERATE.I THEN PULLED OVER & LIFTED THE HOOD BUT THERE WAS NO OBVIOUS SIGNS AND THE CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATED. I LET THE CAR REST AND THEN GOT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY BUTHE ISSUE STILL CONTINUED.WHILE RESEARCHING ONLINE I REALIZED THAT THERE ARE NUMEROUS 2010 NISSAN ROUGE OWNERS WHO HAVE BEEN HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE FOR YEARS NOW. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND SHOULD BE REVIEWED FOR ALL 2010 NISSAN ROUGES!

MY 2010 ROGUE LOSES POWER WHEN ACCELERATING UP A HILL. I HAVE TO PULL OFF THE ROAD AND LET THE ENGINE COOL DOWN FOR 30 MINUTES THEN THE CAR RUNS OK FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES THEN IT LOSES POWER AGAIN. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR 2 YEARS. I DON'T DRIVE IN HILLS OFTEN SO IT HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 6 TIMES.
THE CAR LOSES ACCELERATION AFTER DRIVING FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY. IT IS A RISK GOING UP THE MOUNTAINS OF WEST VIRGINIA. TRACTOR TRAILERS GET RIGHT ON OUR BUMPER WHEN THE CAR DROPS BELOW 50 MILES PER HOUR THINKING WE ARE SLOW DRIVERS. NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE WORKED WITH THE LOCAL DEALER BUT DID NOT COME UP WITH A SOLUTION/REPAIR SO WE HAVE TO PICK UP THE CAR AND CONTINUE TO BE AT RISK. THIS IS THE 2ND TRANSMISSION THAT WE HAVE HAD IN THIS VEHICLE AND IT STARTED GIVING US ISSUES RIGHT AROUND THE SAME MILEAGE. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN AND THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE ANY COVERAGE. WHAT HAPPENS IS THAT WHEN WE ARE DRIVING ON LONGER, FREEWAY TRIPS THE CAR WILL BEGIN TO DECCELERATE. ONCE THIS HAPPENS IT WILL NOT ACCELERATE PAST 40MPH. THIS IS HAPPENING ON MAJOR INTERSTATES WITH SPEED LIMITS OF 70 MPH OR MORE. THERE IS NO WARNING THAT THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE RPMS DROP SHORTLY FOLLOWED BY THE SPEED. EVEN PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR DOWN TO THE FLOOR WILL NOT GIVE THE VEHICLE ANY MORE SPEED. THIS IS VERY HAZARDOUS, ESPECIALLY WHEN TRAVELLING IN HILLY AREAS AS THE CAR CAN AND DOES SLOW DOWN TO 20 MPH WITHOUT THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE. OFTEN TIMES THIS HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE SO WE ARE FORCED TO DRIVE AT DANGEROUSLY SLOW SPEEDS UNTIL WE CAN FIND A PLACE TO SAFELY PULL OVER. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO US MANY TIMES, OFTEN WHEN PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE LEFT LANE. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED AT NIGHT AND SINCE WE ARE NOT BRAKING THERE IS NOT INDICATOR TO THE TRAFFIC AROUND US THAT WE ARE SLOWING DOWN SO QUICKLY. IT ALWAYS HAPPENS ON FAMILY VACATIONS SO WE HAVE 2 YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE WITH US. IT TENDS TO HAPPEN MORE OFTEN IN HOT TEMPERATURES BUT IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN THE TEMPERATURE WAS AROUND 25 DEGREES F. IT HAS ALWAYS HAPPENED ON THE FREEWAY WHILE IN MOTION. AS I SAID IT HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES BUT MOST RECENTLY OVER SPRING BREAK. IT ALSO HAPPENED MANY TIMES WITH THE 1ST TRANSMISSION WHICH WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY AT 87000 MILES. THE NEW TRANSMISSION HAS ABOUT 75000 MILES ON IT BUT I AM BEING TOLD THAT SINCE THE MILEAGE ON THE CAR IS OVER 120000 MILES THAT THE CVT IS NO LONGER COVERED EVEN THOUGHT IT ONLY HAS 75000 MILES ON IT.
SHORTLY AFTER I TOOK THIS OFF A LOT IN 2012, I EXPERIENCED A DECELERATION ON THE HIGHWAY. I LIVE IN ARIZONA, SO TRAVELING FROM PHOENIX TO FLAGSTAFF IS AT AN INCLINE AT PHOENIX IS ROUGHLY 3000 FEET ABOVE SEA LEVEL AND FLAGSTAFF IS 7000. THE INCLINE HAPPENS JUST OVER 140 MILES, SO IT'S QUITE A CLIMB. THE CAR LOSSES ALL ACCELERATION ABILITY ON EACH AND EVERY INCLINE, FORCING ME TO FIND A SHOULDER (IF I CAN), WHERE I HAVE TO SHUT THE CAR OFF FOR ABOUT FIVE MINUTES BEFORE TRYING AGAIN. MAGICALLY, THE CAR REGAINS SOME ACCELERATION, BUT IT QUICKLY HAPPENS AGAIN. THIS IS ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS DUE THE THE CLIFF EDGES OR ROCK WALLS THAT LINE THIS ROAD. WHEN I COME TO A ALMOST SUDDEN STOP ON THIS TWO LANE HIGHWAY WHEN I JUST WENT AROUND A BLIND CORNER, THAT MEANS THAT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO ALERT THE CARS BEHIND ME THAT I AM AT A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE HAD MANY CLOSE ENCOUNTERS LIKE THIS. I HAVE TRIED TO ASK THE DEALERS, MECHANICS AND TALK FORUMS ON THE SITUATION. THOUGH MANY PEOPLE HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS VERY PROBLEM, NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON. I HAVE RESORTED TO DRIVE IT IN THE CITY AND TAKE AN OLD, BUT MUCH MORE RELIABLE SUBARU FORESTER ON THESE TRIPS INSTEAD. THIS NISSAN HAS BEEN A THORN IN MY SIDE SINCE I PURCHASED IT, BUT I SEEM TO BE STUCK WITH IT. I HAVE TRIED TO CLEAN THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, BUT IT DIDN'T HELP AT ALL. THE ALL WHEEL DRIVE CAN'T EVEN MAKE IT UP AN ICY INCLINE. I HATE THIS CAR.

THIS HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, CAR WILL LOSE POWER. WE PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND CAR DECELERATES; THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO POWER. THE LAST INCIDENT OCCURRED AUGUST 8. WE WERE DRIVING AT ABOUT 80MPH; WE STARTED UP A HILL AND THE CAR COMPLETELY LOST POWER; SPEED WENT DOWN TO ABOUT 40 MPH. FINALLY REGAINED SPEED ON FLAT STRETCH OF ROAD BUT EVERY TIME WE HIT A SLIGHT INCLINE WE WOULD LOSE POWER. PART OF THE TIME WE WERE ON A TWO LANE HI-WAY AND CARS WERE BACKING UP BEHIND US. THEN, AFTER GOING ALONG WITH NO PROBLEMS FOR A PERIOD OF TIME WE PULLED OF AT AN EXIT. AFTER STOPPING AT A STOP SIGN WHEN WE TRIED TO MOVE GAS PEDAL WENT TO THE GROUND AND CAR DID NOT MOVE-THEN IT LURCHED SUDDENLY AND ACCELERATED. LATER IN THE DRIVE-ON A FLAT GROUND GOING 80 MPH CAR LURCHED AND DECELERATED --AS I SAID, THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE; THIS LAST INCIDENT WAS MOST FRUSTRATING AS WE WERE ON A LONG ROAD TRIP AND FEELING VERY UNSAFE.
THE VEHICLE REPEATEDLY LOST SPEED, DECELERATING WHEN GOING UPHILL. IT WENT FROM 70MPH TO LESS THAN 20MPH. PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN PROVIDED NO RESPONSE FROM THE VEHICLE. NISSAN IS REFUSING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS CAR MODEL. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, UP BRIDGES AND HILLS. THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE. STAYS AT 2RPM EVEN WHILE PEDAL IS PRESSED ALL THE WAY. VEHICLE CANT PASS 70 MPH ON LONG DRIVES AND RPM STAYS AT 2RPM. THE CAR STARTS SLOWING DOWN TO ALMOST 50 MPH FOR LONGER PERIODS OF TIME. THEN WHEN OFF THE HIGHWAY TO SEE THE ISSUE THE CAR DOES NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. TURNING OFF THE CAR AND LET IT REST FOR 10 MIN IS THE ONLY SOLUTION. BUT 30 MIN BACK IN THE ROAD SAME PROBLEM OCCURS. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND NOT SAFE. I READ MANY FORUMS AND ALSO THE NISSAN TITANS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I NEED SERIOUS HELP. STOPPED AT AUTO ZONE TO READ THE CHECK ENGINE AND THE TRANSMISSION AND SPEED CONTROL CODES CAME UP. THE 1ST TIME IN 4 YEARS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. SO OBVIOUSLY IT'S GETTING WORSE.
WHILE THE VEHICLE IS SETRUP ON CRUISE FOR 70 MILES, SUDDENLY THE CRUISE COAST WAS SHOIU OFF AND VEHICLE START GOING DOWN, EVEN WHILE WE PRESS ACCELARATOR, NO RESPONSE. THE ACCELERATOR WAS COMPLETLY FLOORED, BUT THE VEHICLE SLOWED DOWN TILL IT REACHES 35 MPH. I STOPPED THE VEHICLE ON THE SIDE OF HIGHWAY AND SHUTOFF THE VEHICLE FOR 15 MTS AND RE STARTED. IT PERFORMED NORMALLY TILL HIGH ELEVATION CAME AND THEN STARTED THE SAME ISSUE, THIS TIME WITH OUT CRUISE CONTROL ON. LIKE THIS IT WENT ON TILL I REACH PENNSYLVANIA STATE. THIS HSPPEND WHILE I AM TRAVELING FROM LEXINGTON, KY TO NEW YORK NY. IT HAPPENED AGAIN WHILE COMING BACK, ONCE I CROSSED PENNSYLVANIA AND REACHED US 68 MARYLAND AND CONTINUED TILL I REACH US 64 TILL WESCHESTER. THIS TIME ME, MY WIFE AND MY DAUGHTER ARE PANNICKED FOR EVERY TWO OR THREE HOURS AND TOOK BREAK FOR 20 MTS FOR EVERY THREE HOURS. THE TOTAL 12 HRS TRAVELL TOOK 20 HRS FOR US TO REACH LEXINGTON, KY. 2010 NISSAN ROUGUE IS ONLY 5 MONTHS OLD, I BOUGHT IT FROM CARMAX, LEXINGTON, KY. THIS I OBSERVED ON HIGHWAYS AND WHILE GOING IN ELEVATIONS, IF THAT IS THE CASE FROM LEXINGTON WHERE EVER I TRAVEL IS ALWAYS HIGH ELEVATIONS. PLEASE GIVE JUSTICE TO US.
THERE IS CLEARLY AN ACCELERATION PROBLEM WITH THE 2010 NISSAN ROGUE; OVER 900,000 PEOPLE HAVE COMPLAINED AND A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED. IT SEEMS THAT THE CAR HAS PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AFTER IT WAS STOPPED. IT TYPICALLY DID THIS IF YOU WERE EITHER STOPPED ON A HILL OR IF YOU STOPPED AFTER DRIVING HIGH SPEEDS ON THE INTERSTATE. AFTER SEVERAL INCIDENTS OVER THE COURSE OF 3 MONTHS (I PURCHASED VEHICLE AUGUST 2014), THE "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHT IS NOW ON. I HAVE JUST A LITTLE OVER 38,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
GOING AT FREEWAY SPEED...COULD NOT ACCELERATE, NEITHER TO PASS NOR TO RECOVER FROM HAVING TO SLOW DOWN FOR TRAFFIC. WHEN PRESSING DOWN THE GAS PEDAL, NOTHING HAPPENED: NO ACCELERATION AND NO INCREASE IN RPM. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED, I WAS GOING UP A HILL. NOW IT HAPPENS ANY TIME I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 30 MINUTES OR MORE, FLAT ROAD OR INCLINE. THE CAR DOES FINE INITIALLY AND DURING NORMAL STOP AND GO CITY DRIVING FOR SHORT DURATIONS. THOUGHT PERHAPS IT WAS A CLOGGING IN FUEL INJECTORS, SO CLEANED THEM OUT TO NO AVAIL. DEALER SAYS THEY "CAN FIND NOTHING WRONG." THIS IS A DANGEROUS FLAW THAT NEEDS TO BE CORRECTED BY NISSAN!!!! *TR
AS WE ACCELERATED THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK. AFTER A FEW MILES THE CAR SLOWED DOWN IN SPEED AND WOULD NOT GO PASSED 40MPH. THE CAR WAS SET TO 70MPH ON CRUISE CONTROL THEN IT DROPPED SPEED AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE CAUSING ME TO GET OFF OF HIGHWAY RIGHT AWAY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO FIX THE PROBLEM BUT THIS TIME IT'S WORSE. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTIC PERFORMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 104,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED TO 90 MPH. THE CONTACT APPLIED THE BRAKES BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE CONTACT THEN REMOVED THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION AND APPLIED THE BRAKES, AND THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECELERATE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHERE IT WAS ADVISED THAT THE POWER TRAIN WAS DEFECTIVE. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER TRAIN BUT THE REPAIR DID NOT REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
AFTER DRIVING VEHICLE FOR ABOUT AN HOUR, CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. GAS PEDAL WOULD BE PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND RPM'S WOULD NOT EXCEED 3000RPM. WHEN FOOT WAS TAKEN OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR AND PUSHED BACK TO FLOOR BOARD, RPM'S WOULD INCREASE TO 3000 AND THEN DECREASE BACK DOWN TO 2500 RPM. VEHICLE WOULD START TO DECREASE IN SPEED EVEN THOUGH GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED ALL THE WAY DOWN. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS EXPERIENCED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,500.
AFTER A PERIOD OF HIGHWAY DRIVING (1+ HOUR), VEHICLE WILL NOT ACCELERATE AFTER COMING TO A STOP. WHEN STOPPING THE FIRST TIME AFTER DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE S-L-O-W-L-Y WHEN GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED TO FLOOR. RPM'S WILL INCREASE TO 2000-3000 AND THE VEHICLE WILL REACH APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH AFTER 5-8 SECONDS. ONCE THE VEHICLE REACHES APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH IT SEEMS TO "KICK INTO GEAR" AND WILL ACCELERATE NORMALLY FROM THAT POINT. THIS EVENT HAPPENS VIRTUALLY EVERY TIME AFTER DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED FOR A PERIOD OF TIME AND STOPPING AFTER EXITING THE HIGHWAY, OR STOPPING ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO TRAFFIC CONGESTION. *TR
I HAD JUST GOTTEN ON TO NORTHBOUND RIGHT-HAND LANE OF THE WHITESTONE BRIDGE IN NY WHEN TRAFFIC STOPPED. THEN THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO MOVE WITH THE TRAFFIC. THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING. I STEPPED ON THE GAS, BUT THE RPMS DIDN'T ADVANCE AND THE ENGINE DIDN'T REV UP. THE CAR STARTED TO ROLL BACKWARDS AS THIS AREA OF THE BRIDGE IS ON AN INCLINE. I BRAKED, APPLIED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, PUT ON FLASHERS AND SHUT THE IGNITION. I CALLED 911 FOR HELP. *TR
