You were in a highway collision at 55 MPH with a deer, and your airbags did not deploy despite the significant impact that damaged the front end, hood, windshield, and radiator. You sustained neck and back injuries requiring medical attention. The collision alert and message appeared on your dashboard after the crash. A repair may require airbag system diagnostic testing and potential replacement of the airbag modules and sensors.

This is a problem that has occurred in several Kia models. While driving all of a sudden all the warning lights from every safety related item come on and at the same time the power steering goes off as well as the air conditioner. Sometimes if you stop the car and restart the engine everything returns to normal other times it does not and occasionally the shifter locks itself in park. I have taken it to the Kia dealer twice and they "repaired" it one time and the problem continued. The second time no problem codes were shown in the OBD and they said there was nothing they could do. We have limited our driving this car because it is a ticking time bomb. A quick look at the Seltos forum shows that many owners have reported this problem. Please go to this link below. We purchased a new factory 2022 Kia Seltos for our child, because of its 6 standard airbags and its other safety features. Our child was in a vehicle accident on Black Friday were he hit his head and suffered a severe head concussion. It was a frontal crash and none of the airbags deployed. Because of this our son could not complete his Firsts Semester of College and had to take an “Incomplete”. Before the accident there were no malfunction warnings, and we received nothing from his Kia App stating nothing wrong with his vehicle. As a matter of fact, the cops, ambulance and Tow Driver were all shocked that his airbag did not deploy. Our insurance company had the car towed to its collision center so they could review the extent of the damages. The insurance and collision center deemed the vehicle a total loss because the vehicle was over the 75% threshold to be repaired. The vehicle was totaled because it had a frontal bent frame, no front bumper, headlights, sensors, radiator etc. We did report the accident and findings from our insurance company to Kia America and the Dealership where we purchased the vehicle; but they seemed not to care.
