The mounting bracket that connects your rear trailing arm to the frame became completely detached due to internal corrosion. This made your vehicle unsafe and impossible to drive. The dealer and insurance company declined to cover or assist with repairs, despite your vehicle being only 13 years old.

Your Jeep's frame is rusting severely from the inside out, and you won't see the problem until holes actually develop in the metal. This type of internal rust can compromise the structural integrity of your vehicle over time. Addressing frame rust typically requires professional inspection and may involve rust treatment, welding, or frame replacement depending on the extent of damage.

JEEP HAS NEVER BEEN OFF ROAD. HUSBAND NOTICED WHILE CHANGING OIL, FRAME ROT WAS VISIBLE IN FRONT OF VEHICLE. LATER TOOK TO LOCAL AUTOBODY SHOP THAT CONFIRMED FRAME IS ROTTED FROM INSIDE OUT. RECOMMENDS NEW FRAME AND TO NOT DRIVE IT DUE TO SAFETY CONCERNS. HE STATED THIS IS VERY COMMON IN JEEPS AND THAT I SHOULD FILE A VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT.

I WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE. THE ENGINE STARTED TO RACE AT VERY HIGH R.P.M.'S FOR NO REASON. I WAS ABLE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM ACCELERATING WITH HARD BRAKE PRESSURE AND QUICKLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL. THE ENGINE RETURNED TO NORMAL IDLE AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS. THIS HAS HAPPENED APPROXIMATELY 5 ADDITIONAL TIMES SINCE THEN FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I CHECK FLOOR MATS, GAS PEDAL MOVEMENT AND EVEN ATTEMPTED TO APPLY PRESSURE TO BOTH THE GAS AND BRAKE PEDAL AT THE SAME TIME WHICH WAS IMPOSSIBLE. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO COMMON FACTOR TO THESE INCIDENTS. I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED ANY WARNING LIGHTS OR CODES.

I HAVE A 2004 JEEP WRANGLER SPORT, RECENTLY I WAS DRIVING AT 45 TO 50 MPH AND THE FRONT END STARTED TO SHAKE SO HARD I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO LOSE CONTROL, WHEN I CALLED JEEP THEY SAID BRING IT IN AND WE WILL CHARGE YOU TO LOOK AT IT SHOP TIME WHERE I LIVE IS AROUND 100.00 AN HOUR, SINCE THE WARRANTY IS UP THEY REALLY DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING FOR ME EXCEPT CHARGE ME TO LOOK AT IT. I AM SURE THEY WILL NEVER ADMIT TO IT HAVING A PROBLEM. I REPLACED THE STEERING STABILIZER AND ITS STILL DOING IT. I AM NOT SURE WHERE TO GO FROM HERE. ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM? MAYBE IF THERE IS ENOUGH COMPLAINTS THEY WILL RECALL IT HOPEFULLY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. ALL I WANT TO DO IS SELL IT NOW AND GET SOMETHING NOT MADE BY CHRYSLER. *JB
