AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING AND THE TACHOMETER/ SPEEDOMETER DROPPED TO ZERO... AIR BAG SENSOR LAMP ILLUMINATES AT ANY SPEED OF OPERATION PRECEEDED BY TICKING SOUND FROM UNDER THE STEERING WHEEL COLUMN. ONCE SENSOR ILLUMINATES TACHOMETER STOPS AND ODOMETER STOPS RECORDING MILES. THE PROBLEM CAN OCCUR AT ANY TIME AND LAST ANYWHERE FROM 10 SECONDS TO 20 MINUTES. MANUFACTURERS LITERATURE STATES THAT AIRBAG CAN BE DEPLOYED WHILE SENSOR IS ILLUMINATED. TWO DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTS AT REPAIRING THE PROBLEM HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL. THE MANUFACTURER CLAIMS IT MAY NEVER ACCURATELY IDENTIFY OR RESOLVE THE PROBLEM.

THIS VEHICLE HAS ITS GAUGES DROP OFF INTERMITTENTLY. IN SOME CASES, ALL GUAGES DROP, IN OTHERS JUST THE TACH AND SPEEDOMETER. SHELLEY WARSAW CP JE, CLARKSVILLE, MD HAS WORKED ON THE VEHICLE ON 3 OCCASIONS. INITIALLY THEY REPLACED THE AIRBAG SENSOR. THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE SPENT 1.5 DAYS IN THIS FACILITY IN JUNE. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A HARNASS CONNECTOR PROBLEM. THE SITUATION APPEARED TO BE REMEDIATED, BUT HAS ONCE AGAIN OCCURRED. IT IS UNCOMFORTABLE TO DRIVE A VEHICEL THAT INDICATES A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG (CHECK AIRBAG SIGNAL) ON A DAILY BASIS.
