Owner Complaints (9)
Your brake system has repeatedly failed at very low mileage, with brake rotors warping and requiring replacement three times in less than a year. Each time you brake, you feel significant vibration and shaking through the steering wheel and chassis, which can affect your ability to stop smoothly and safely, especially at highway speeds. Hyundai has declined warranty coverage on the latest failure despite a second dealer confirming the rotors need replacement again. The fix will likely require a full brake system inspection and replacement of brake rotors and pads, with investigation into whether there's an underlying manufacturing defect.

Your car is giving false collision warnings during normal driving, such as when turning with no obstacles ahead, which is distracting and causes anxiety. More seriously, your car has also engaged the emergency braking system on the highway at highway speeds (65-70 mph) when there was no actual emergency, which nearly caused an accident and required you to override the brakes by pressing the gas pedal harder. The collision warning system has malfunctioned since you purchased the car in June 2024, and the emergency braking issue started in February 2026. A diagnostic scan of the forward collision avoidance and automatic emergency braking systems will likely be needed to identify and repair the sensor or software issue.

Your car's forward collision avoidance system activated on its own while you were driving on the highway with no vehicles ahead, causing your brakes to slam on and your speed to drop from 75 mph to 50 mph. This unexpected braking created a dangerous situation where the vehicle behind you nearly collided with you, and the other driver became aggressive thinking you had brake-checked them intentionally. You report this has happened multiple times on side roads as well with no apparent reason, making you feel unsafe driving the vehicle.

Your car's forward collision warning system is triggering automatic braking at speeds above 40 MPH even when there are no vehicles or objects in front of you. This happens while you're actively driving, which is especially concerning on interstate highways. The issue likely involves the forward collision sensor or camera needing recalibration or replacement.

My car automatically braked in the middle of an intersection and caused my vehicle to be rear-ended. This was the third time automatic braking engaged when it should not have been. In the most recent incident on [XXX] I was injured and had to have medical attention. I googled automatic braking and there were many reports of automatic braking being deployed when it should not have been. While driving in light traffic, speed at 45 mph, my Tucson alerted me with a beep, steering wheel vibrated and a red alert on the dash was present for about 3 seconds then the speed automatically slows down to 15 mph all on its own while my foot is still on the accelerator. This has occurred at a minimum 6 times. I purchased this vehicle brand new and driving it off the lot it had 22 miles on it. I've taken it to a Hyundai dealership, and they can't figure out what it wrong with it. I feel very unsafe and unhappy now of this major safety concern. This has high probability of getting rear ended. I see that this has been occurring with various years of Hyundai and am wondering why there has not been a recall on this issue. I owned a Hyundai prior to this 2024 (Tucson 2011) and it was wonderful. This is highly concerning for me, and I am not confidant driving this vehicle and will more than likely trade it in for another vehicle. Can someone please research this issue with the automatic emergency brake system. This can autonomously go off whether you are in traffic, highway, street or completely zero vehicles or pedestrians around.
Two incidents while driving on the highway. 1. Emergency braking activated on its own. No cars around me. It was a rural area. The red emergency braking activated light showed up and my car braked but resumed driving. This is a new car with less than 4k miles on it. 2. The hands free assist and cruise control were activated. My care swerved to the right abruptly. My hands were on the wheel and I was able to correct this but this is very concerning as my daughter drives this car on mountain roads when she is going to college. I have read online reports when others driving the same make, model and year vehicle.
I brought my vehicle in to Allstar hyundai in Baton Rouge about a month after purchasing it. I told the service manager my brakes are squealing through out the day. He drove it nothing. He stated it is because of moisture. Not true. Squealing brakes means the brakes will go out. They refused to change them out. It has continued to happen multiple times each and everyday. I would love to have this reported. I have owned previous hyundai vehicle and others never ever had this problem,. I am going back for an oil change and will once again state 1) I am not stupid2) this should not be happening3) I have spoken to other mechanics and they all stated it is a BRAKE MALFUNCTION. what is my next step if they refuse? It always happened when applying brakes at stop signs/lights at speed limits.
Sudden hard breaking for no reason. It's happened 3 times when in cruise control. If a car had been close behind it would have caused a wreck. I've had the vehicle just over a month
