While you were slowly pulling into a parking spot, your car suddenly accelerated without warning, even though you were applying the brakes. The car crashed into a PVC fence, but fortunately no one was injured. You haven't had the car inspected yet to determine whether the issue was with the brakes, accelerator, or another system. A full diagnostic inspection at a dealership or mechanic would be needed to identify what caused the unexpected acceleration.

Mice are getting into the front of your car, leaving urine smell and nests in the air filter area. You're finding debris and dead mice when you clean the filters monthly, and the smell makes the cabin unsafe to breathe. The issue appears to be a design flaw with this model that hasn't been addressed by the manufacturer. Fixing this likely requires sealing entry points around the engine bay and possibly installing rodent deterrents or barriers.

Your car's traction control and stability control systems are randomly activating while you're driving, causing the car to jerk to the right and the brake pedal to shake. You'll hear a loud noise and see the warning light flash for a few seconds before everything returns to normal, though the problem happens repeatedly over short periods of time. Your dealer couldn't find any error codes to help diagnose the issue. The fix will likely involve a brake system inspection, wheel speed sensor check, or electronic stability control module diagnosis once the problem can be reproduced.

On six seperate occasions since I purchased new my traction control light flashed and the vehicle jerked and would lose power. It would then gain and lose power again. Four of these occurances happened in the last few months. It would not subside until I stopped the car. I took the car to the dealer three times and they said they could not duplicate the problem. They also said there were no codes in the car system history that showed any problems. I contacted Hyundai USA for advice. They said to bring it into the dealer and ask them to inspect the car again. That was visit number 3 and the results were the same. The person from Hundai said she would let her supervisor know of my concern for the vehicle safety but I never heard back.
Unknown, "no remedy available"
The back up camera has stopped working. If you read google, yelp, and other forums, a lot of back up cameras have stopped working as early as 24k miles. My vehicle is 2 years old and back up camera has died. I drive a lot of miles for work but cameras do not use mileage. The is a safety hazard as we had a 7 year old killed from a vehicle with no back up camera years ago. I do not agree with having to pay $1000.00 to have this item replaced. Hyundai also did not give me a proper diagnosis. Just need to relace the camera for $980.00 in a link that was a text message.
Rear view back up camera no longer functioning correctly. Has been to dealership where purchased with system update but no remedy.
I bought this 2022 Elantra 2 years ago. Everytime I change my gear into reverse, my rear camera should be turned on for safety, but it's not working anymore.
The horn has malfunctioned. It stopped working today for the first 10-15 minutes of my driving and this poses as a safety concern as I was not able to communicate with other drivers. After 15 minutes the horn started picking up but it sounded faint. It does not sound nearly as loud or the same sound. I am worried the horn will stop working again. It is not making the same noises it usually does. Currently there are no warning lights on the dash regarding this. I am also seeing in social media communities that other Elantra drivers are facing the exact same issue and this poses a safety concern. If the horn stops working while driving in the highway or even local roads and we are unable to connivance with drivers it can cause or fail to prevent accidents.
Bought car new in December 2021. Both horns (low and high pitch) stopped working about a month after. Got it replaced. Next winter it went out again, got it looked at. Now this winter they went out again and I’m waiting on the dealership to get a new set in for it to be replaced. All replacements have been genuine Hyundai parts installed by a Hyundai dealership.
I was driving on the highway three days ago, and the forward safety went off. It was raining heavily, this happened to me once before and as soon as the rain cleared, it went away. This time it has not gone away. The safety remains disabled. I am unable to locate the sensors to see if maybe there’s mud or some thing blocking it.
Car losing coolant and hyundai refuse to fix it says couldn’t find leak
I attempted to make a complete stop at a stop sign. The brakes wouldn't stop the car. The car kept driving, had to swerve several times. I attempted to put the car in neutral didn't work, tried to put it in park didn't work. It abruptly stopped in the middle of the road eventually. Several lights displayed on the dashboard. Scariest moment of my life! Hyundai needs to fix this problem! I called the dealership to speak with the service manger ART at World Hyundai in Matteson, IL, left several messages no call back! Final call, I was told that ART couldn't come to the phone, I could drop off the car, but they have no loaner to give me in the meantime.
During the summer, I used to get some rattling on my new Elantra right after beginning to drive, after a long interval of parking under the sun. But once the car cooled down due to the A/C, the rattling would disappear. I never bothered to find the exact source of rattling because it used to last only a couple of minutes. Now in the winter, something in the passenger side starts rattling every time I go on a bump! So I took the car to the dealership following a whole week of consistent rattling. They said the noise is coming from somewhere in the dashboard and it is likely due to the misalignment caused by the shrinking of plastic in the cold. They said I could leave the car with them for 2-3 days and they could open up the dashboard and find the exact source of the noise. However, the disclaimer was that opening up the dashboard could actually introduce more rattle after it was assembled back, because the dashboard plastic parts are not precisely machined. Also, if the cause of the rattle was not found to be a manufacturer defect, I would have to pay diagnosis fee as well as the price of any broken parts that needed replacement, along with the labor charge to replace it. What's the point of warranty then?
My horn failed and keeps blowing fuses which is A band-aid for the current problem; my car poses A risk to me and my family and others on the road if A new horn cannot be installed promptly. The problem was acknowledged by "MATTHEWS HYUNDAI OF GREECE - ROCHESTER NY(14626) and I was told it'd be A couple of weeks, now i've been told an ETA of (03/30/22) which I have A email stating so. The vehicle has no warnings on the dash that let me know that the horn has malfunctioned. I was offered no options from Hyundai Corporate other than to wait for the horn.
When attempting to engage lane keep assist and lane follow assist, it did not engage for 14 miles of my trip. I turned off lane follow assist and lane keep assist and after a few mins I turned those two back on but still did not engage. Vehicle had 147 miles at the time and had 235 miles left in gas tank. Stereo speakers cut out at high volume due to speakers getting hot.
