Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Acura MDX, MDX Sport Hybrid, RDX, TLX, Honda Accord, Civic Hatchback, Insight, 2019 Acura ILX, Honda Accord Hybrid, Civic Coupe, Civic Coupe Si, Civic Sedan, Civic Sedan Si, Civic Type R, Fit, HR-V, Odyssey, Passport, Pilot and Ridgeline, and 2018-2019 CR-V vehicles. The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
Fix: Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed May 18, 2021. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 20V-314.

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 Honda Accord, Civic Coupe, Civic Sedan, Civic Hatchback, Civic Type R, CR-V, HR-V, Ridgeline, Odyssey, Acura ILX, MDX, MDX Hybrid, RDX, RLX, TLX, 2019-2022 Honda Insight, Passport, 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid, 2018-2019 Honda Clarity PHEV, Fit, and 2015-2020 Honda Accord Hybrid, Pilot, Acura NSX vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
Fix: Dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed September 6, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are KGC and KGD. This recall is an expansion of NHTSA recall numbers 21V-215 and 20V-314.

Your car suddenly shut off without warning while driving, causing all dashboard warning lights to illuminate. This happened twice within a year—first in April 2025 and again in February 2026—even though the dealer had recently replaced the secondary fuel pump as a repair. The second shutdown was particularly dangerous because it occurred while another car was backing up near you, putting you at risk of being hit.

Your car's engine shuts down while driving or won't restart after you park it, though it starts fine again after about an hour. A mechanic diagnosed a faulty fuel pump, and there's an active recall for this issue on your model, but your vehicle's VIN wasn't included in it. The dealership says they can't get fuel pumps because they're being held for recall vehicles only. This has happened at least 20 times since August 2025, and you believe your car should be covered by the recall. Fixing this will require replacing the fuel pump, which should be covered under the recall if your VIN is added to it.

Your car has shut down while driving on 6 occasions, and a mechanic diagnosed a faulty fuel pump. There's a known recall for this issue (bulletin #24008 from Feb 25), but Honda says your vehicle's VIN isn't included in the recall even though similar models are affected. You believe your car should be covered since it has the same problem and only 50,000 miles. The repair would involve replacing the fuel pump assembly.

1: Fuel pump - This recall was fixed last weekend on 6/14/25. On [XXX] My vehicle stalled on a major road with my son in the car. 2: I have my [XXX] son with me most of the time. The vehicle stalled while I was driving. Myself or my son could of been very injured or worse if I wasn't able to get off the main road. The fuel gage said it was full of gas, but it wasn't moving with what miles the car said it had left. 3: N/A 4: I believe it was inspected because it states in the recall the the fuel pump impeller wasn't molded properly. 5: Yes, all of my check engine lights came on. While pushing on the gas peddle the car wouldn't move. The car started to slow down and shake. It first appeared a week after I got the recall fixed on 6/22/25 Side note: I don't currently have the documents in my possession. Its in the car at the dealership. Both fuel pumps failed and were replaced. The parts were saved for inspection upon request. My car shut down while I was accelerating on the entry ramp to a major highway. If it had not been for my skilled driving and fast thinking, a major accident with injuries would have occurred. The mechanic who fixed my car said this was the 12th one he has repaired. The vehicle was not inspected by anyone from Honda but we did save all the old parts so that it could be verified. There were absolutely no warning lights, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Honda has a recall for this exact problem, for this exact same car but the VIN for my car has not been released yet because they are doing it increments, apparently. What doesn't make sense is that they don't agree to accept responsibility for this recall on the cars that have broken down and been diagnosed with this recall because the VIN hasn't been released yet! This is a $1900 repair that I had to come out of pocket for and I need to be reimbursed in order to payback the money borrowed to pay for the repair. Can you somehow help with this problem. I have the receipts for the repair but don't have them with me at the office where I am sending this message. I can provide them if you need me to but the total amount paid for the repair was $1984.
I received notice of the recall for my car more than six months ago, and since then, I have been trying to schedule an appointment at the Honda dealership in Paramus, NJ. However, they always tell me that the replacement part is unavailable and that they will call me back. It has now been at least six months, and my car is losing power and consuming more fuel than usual. For my safety and the safety of others, I request that this issue be resolved as soon as possible. Was driving and vehicle broke down. Pulled a code P0087 which has to do with fuel pressure and do to all the fuel pump recall and everyone else’s experience, I believe the 2020 ex civics need to be recalled as well. Put my life in danger breaking down while diving down the road.
Honda Motor Co. has not made replacement parts available. This recall is 8 months old, is a severe safety risk and dealers are unable to provide any estimates for when parts will be available. Although we have received a letter stating parts are available dealers tell us to call on Monday to see if replacement parts have been received. For an IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL, this situation is untenable.
Received 2 letters regarding fuel pump module and that parts are now available. However, contacted 3 dealerships and Honda National and now being told parts are unavailable till end of the year. Though I have option to have part replaced elsewhere are reimbursed for only part of expense. Problem ongoing since February 2024. I feel Honda is dropping the ball on this safety recall and someone needs to step in to ensure Honda complies and corrects issue asap and not make consumers wait another 10 months.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Civic equipped with a manual transmission. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle started losing motive power and was also shaking. Additionally, the clutch pedal was going to the floorboard. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to pull off to the side of the road. The contact was able to restart the vehicle; however, the vehicle failed to move while depressing the clutch pedal. The contact smelled a burning odor coming from the clutch. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the manual clutch had burned out and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to a second dealer - Moss Bros. Honda (27990 Eucalyptus Ave, Moreno Valley, CA 92555) where it was diagnosed that the clutch pedal needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to a transmission specialist who took the transmission apart and provided the same diagnostic. The contact stated that the clutch pedal was replaced; however, the failure persisted and the transmission continuously independently jumped out of gear while driving. The vehicle was taken back to the transmission specialist where it was diagnosed that the transmission had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken back to the first dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the vehicle stalled while driving. The vehicle was towed to the first dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact also referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V215000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The manufacturer was notified of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 4,950.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, the dealer stated gas in the oil is normal and to bring the car back after driving around a thousand miles. The mechanic changed the oil. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. The technician informed the contact that he would need to speak with the manufacturer for a further option for the repair. The manufacturer was contacted by the technician and was informed that the VIN was not under recall and that the vehicle was performing as designed. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the oil dilution failure. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V215000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) as a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided a case number 12258099 for the Vin [XXXXXX]. The mechanic confirmed oil level to be slightly elevated 12-14MM above full mark, tech contacted tech line re#4404999. Manufacturer stated within normal operating standards. I WAS DRIVING MY CAR FROM BENICIA,CALIFORNIA TO SACRAMENTO AND 20 MINS AWAY FROM MY DESTINATION MY CAR WARNING LIGHTS ALL TURNED ON AND I WENT FROM GOING 70 TO ONLY BEING ABLE TO GO NO MORE THAN 15. GOT IT TOWED TO HONDA AND FOUND OUT MY HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS BAD. LOOK IT UP AND SEEN THAT MANY MORE CARS LIKE MINES HAD THE SAME PROBLEM
