2015 Honda Civic Transmission Problems

The issue according to the NTHSB is the “TCM” or transmission control module. resulting in cars wheels locking up, or spinning out of control and not changing gears (this is what happened to me and repeated itself when I waited a week and tried driving around my neighborhood ) the issue is supposed to result in transmission and Powertrain failure, making engine wanting to redline very easily. I’m lucky I didn’t burn my engine up. I didn’t purchase a car in 2018 at 17,000 miles and expect the transmission to fall out at 45,000 miles. That’s unacceptable and I was never notified, and Andy mohr purports that my vehicle was either serviced or software changed resulting in no issue, however a transmission dying at 45,000 mi on a Honda Civic is not right and I suspect Honda notified the previous lessee and they did not service the car or had it improperly serviced. Otherwise I see no reason to have a car fall apart at 45,000 miles. I drive like grandma.

The problem first started when I would put the car in reverse, the car would abruptly stall. I would take the car to many shops and they would change the battery, clean the throttle body and nothing fixed it. Then it would do it when I would put the car in drive.

2/11/20, 7:10am, after driving approximately 12 miles, my '15 honda civic ex started running like a tire might be flat. No warning lights. Headed to nearest air approx.

I was driving to work on I-77 and while the vehicle was in motion, the vehicle stopped accelerating. I would push on the gas and the vehicle would not accelerate. The vehicle began to slow.

It was raining, I went to slow down and it was as if the front wheels locked up, tcs blinking on and off, and the tires remained pulling as if power was still being sent to the front two, locked up, tires and I had no control as the car pulled me straight forward into the side of another vehicle resulting in a collision that had me hit a stopped car so hard it spun the other car around and totaled my car.

I was driving home on I-80 and while the vehicle was in motion, the vehicle stopped accelerating. I would push on the gas and the vehicle would not accelerate. Rpms would go to 4000.

About 15 seconds entering the freeway I decided to merge. As I accelerated I heard something pop or like a clunk/thump sound, like something had shifted, then my car began to slow down. Then when I stepped on the gas my RPM was moving but my cause was not.

Exact problem was recalled for same year for 143,000 vehicles but my VIN was not in the recall. I was diving and vehicle made a loud noise and all the sudden stopped accelerating. It was like my car was in neutral.

At 40mph heard a whining sound followed by grinding. Car lounges forward comes to a brisk stop. Total transmission failure.

I was driving home from work and as I took off from a standstill, I accelerated and my car began to reach 4000-5000 RPM immediately but my speedometer read 4-6 MPH. I made it to through the intersection and drove until I reached a safe parking lot. It began puttering through the parking lot, almost jerking, but sounded like I was accelerating at top speeds.

As I started driving and pressed on the gas my car hesitated then finally moved. I stopped at a red light, When I pressed on the gas, I had to put the gas petal to the floor, my car lurched, then stopped. Lights came on showing check emission, check transmission.

I was traveling home from Port Aransas TX. I had just driven off the ferry when the car started to violently shake. I was doing 30mph, I had to find a safe place to pull over.

On a side street going 25 MPH. The car lurched several times. The transmission light came on.

Driving on the highway at 60 MPH, my car made a noise almost like a flapping sound and suddenly loses power. Got to the side of the highway, called roadside assistance and towed car to service station. The car started and ran - the car went into drive, reverse and park but would not move at all.

Failed tramission.

Had to have transmission replaced at 114,000 miles in 2023 in June of 2024 warning on screen flashing multiple warnings hillside assist,power steering and Abs turned car off and wouldn't restart. Took to mechanic and they said it was faulty start button was replacef and in June of 2025 transmission plug was popped out and all lights started throwing warning signal again and car died won't restart.

Transmission failed while driving. car slipped out of gear and propulsion power was lost. Vehicle could not be moved out of road way. Doing a quick easy internet search yield hundreds of complaints about CVT Rubber Plug problems. Honda CVT's have a transmission plug that routinely "pops out" allowing transmission fluid to spray out and sediment to fall into the transmission reservoir. This undoubtedly led to my daughter's car transmission failing in a very dangerous situation.

Transmission failure. Known problem on these vehicles. Why did they only recall a certain number from this year? And now my transmission has failed just like many others

My car has 105,000 miles on it, and I experienced a transmission failure. There were no warning signs beforehand. No sensor lights going off, no alarming sounds or feelings from driving the car. It just happened randomly. The mechanics who looked at my car said they have never seen this before. I am told my car is not affected by the recall, but that is hard to believe since the 2015 Honda civic has a history of faulty automatic transmissions.

While changing gears on the road my axel shaft broke due to rust from PA roads leaving me stuck in the middle of the road.

While I was driving on the highway I heard a rattling noise in the engine bay and every single light and system showed a malfunction on my dash. Then I was not able to accelerate and had to roll to a stop. This was extremely dangerous both for me and for the other vehicles on the highway because the speed limit was 55 MPH and between not knowing why all of my system warning lights turned on I didn't even notice that I was not accelerating anymore for a few moments. The worst part was that the area in which I was driving had no shoulder and it was by a body of water. When I was relatively safe out of the way I called a tow truck to take me to a repair shop a block away from my residence in the event it was something minor. The first repair shop looked at it and stated it was an engine issue and I should take it to the dealer/repair shop we normally take it to. I then needed to get it towed again to the other shop and the problem was confirmed to be a catastrophic engine failure by the Honda dealer/repair shop which we always take our vehicle to for maintenance (literally got an oil change and filters replaced less than a month prior) and had to pay to get our engine replaced. The original engine is not available for inspection as we had to get it replaced. The vehicle was not inspected by the manufacturer because they stated there was no open recall on our vehicle even if there were other vehicles with the same year make and model with an open recall on an issue that could cause something like this.

Transmission is not shifting properly and making noises. Car not accelerating correctly. Transmission needs replaced and repaired.

Car was hesitating on acceleration from a standstill, less than a mile down the road the transmission disengaged while in drive and coasted to pull over to the side of the road where we had it towed to an auto shop.

Transmission failure, similar to NHTSA Recall No. :15V-574, resulting in inoperable vehicle. Transmission serviced following maintenance schedule, with no signs of issues before incident.

The contact stated that an AAA service representative attempted to jump-start the vehicle however, the vehicle would lose automotive power once disconnected. The contact was advised by the independent mechanic that the failure was related to Service Bulletin: 20-030. The local dealer was contacted however advised that contact that the VIN was not included in the Service Bulletin. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.

Yet another one. A Failed CVT Transmission. Failed completely on the busy freeway. Failure happened despite diligent maintenance and fluid changes as suggested. Failure suddenly leaving me and my family in a very dangerous situation on the road with fast moving traffic, fearing for our safety. This is a very common problem that simply got "patched" with software, not addressing any key hardware issues with the faulty design of the CVT transmission itself. Computer patch is not perfect and still leaves issues with the inevitable failure of these transmissions, sooner or later. Authorized dealership tries to quote a repair at $12,000 as documented. Seemingly a scam or money trap. Honda refuses to cover from what I hear from all other complains researched. There were no indications of imminent failure, as the issue happened suddenly without warning. I ask that this case be re-reviewed and understand the amount of people who are victims to such an obviously ineffective "recall" that didn't fix anything.

Driving down the road heard a noise sounded like driving over a rumble strip, within 10 miles I could no longer drive forward from a stop.

[XXX] vin has the same issue for transmission failure as for the recall notice issued for all the honda Honda has issued recalls for certain Honda Civic models with Continuously Variable Transmissions (CVT) due to software issues that may affect the transmission's performance and durability. For example, in 2015, Honda recalled the 2014–2015 Honda Civic and 2015 Fit due to an issue with the CVT control software. In some CVT operation modes, the software was programmed to use high hydraulic pressure, which could put a lot of stress on the drive pulley shaft. While I was driving on the highway, my vehicle stopped accelerating. It allowed me to coast. When stopped, it would hesitate before accelerating, and making a whining noise. I stopped driving my car and made an appointment to my auto shop. On the way to the auto-shop, the vehicle stopped accelerating altogether. No warning lights ever turned on, and my car was otherwise in very good health. It simply stopped accelerating. I was lucky to be able to coast onto the shoulder, in light traffic.

CVT Transmission began to slip at 128,000 miles. Vehicle would not accelerate past 20 mph while driving on a busy road. Upon inspection fluid was black and burnt. No prior indication of any problem. Symptoms began 1 day before failure.

Our 2015 Honda Civic started reporting major malfunctions. Almost every error that was possible to report was coming on screen and the vehicle was stuck in "limp" mode and the speed was limited to 40mph. That night, we tried driving it to a mechanic when it suddenly could not accelerate anymore and died in the middle of a road. We are lucky that this happened on a less busy road as opposed to a busy road or highway where we could do nothing to get out of the way of traffic. But it was also a hazard that we were stuck late at night in the middle of nowhere. It had to be towed to a Honda dealer. The dealer then investigated the vehicle and found the issue. They diagnosed the issue as being a transmission failure. There was one recall issued for 2015 Honda Civics in the past and it was specifically for transmission failure issues. The dealer's findings are similar to the nature of the failure described in the previously issued recall. I believe it is possible the issue seen with our specific vehicle could be the same issue as was in the previous recall but our VIN number just happened to not fall in the range. That would make sense to me given that this vehicle is not that old and Civics are not known for having transmission failures at such a low mileage.

Cvt transmission just stopped going into drive and or reverse

The contact stated that while making a left turn at a low rate of speed, the vehicle abruptly jerked forward and stalled as a loud banging sound emitted from the vehicle without warning. Due to the failure, the contact was forced to place the vehicle into neutral(N) and manually push the vehicle out of the intersection. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed with transmission failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V574000(Power Train) which was linked to the failure. The contact called two dealers (Braman Honda of Palm Beach and Delray Honda) and was informed by both dealer that the vehicle was not a part of the recall. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired and remained in the possession of the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

CVT Fill Plug Pops Out or Leaks. My car is 2015 Honda Civic. There is already a recall for Honda Civic 2016-18. I saw this issue yesterday April 6, 2024 and reported to Honda Dealership (Norm Reeves Honda, Fort Worth, Texas). Honda dealer mentioned this is a known problem. There were no warning lamps or symptoms.

The transmission abruptly failed while traveling down the interstate. With zero prior indications of an issue, drive train power was lost abruptly on all four tires. I was able to safely pull off to the shoulder with my hazards on and come to a stop. Two mechanics confirmed no other issues in the vehicle other than the transmission breaking for no known reason. They presume it is software related and do not recommend I replace the transmission. Therefore the car is totaled even though it is in perfect condition other than the transmission failure.

Cvt transmission failure which Honda is known for. I have a small child and this poses a risk to both as we were driving when it first happened. Honda needs to recall the cvt transmission and do right by its faithful customers and not charge $8000 to fix the problem.

I was driving my 2015 Honda Civic when it stopped working. Looking at other people comments and by Hondas own admission, there were problems known with the transmission on these vehicles. Mechanics dont even want to work on the transmissions in these cars. Last Honda I buy

Drive axle failure due to corrosion. Left front drive axle completely separated while in use! Fortunately I was only travelling at around 25mph because of how violently the severed ends banged around until the vehicle could be stopped. This would have been horrendous and likely caused severe damage and possibly a traffic accident had the vehicle been traveling at highway speeds. Severe corrosion is found at the point of failure under a molded rubber component that is fixed to the axle shaft. Vehicle had to be towed for repairs. The right axle has the same molded rubber component so as a precaution I've replaced it. I have retained both axles for future inspection.

Transmission: Pullingout of parking and merging on to highway car feels like driving on Rumble road and losses traction.. My Daughters use this vehicle they no longer feel safe driving it. it's happened to me a.few times.as well. After doing some research it seems like lots of people are experiencing the same problem.. Who has that kind of cash to throw into a repair..

With only 96,597 miles on the CVT transmission it failed while I was driving on [XXX] In Michigan on [XXX] causing the vehicle to immediately lose power on the Interstate and I was barely able to get the car to the shoulder where the car stalled and couldn’t be restarted. Part was leaking on transmission which caused it to burn out. There is a recall for this on multiple Honda Civics and mechanic said they are know for this but ours was not on the recall list. I have sent a previous request with no response. Please advise Honda to add this to thier recall and refund our monies.

The independent mechanic diagnosed the vehicle with a failed transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle was left in Florida where the contact had driven the vehicle 1,000 miles to visit family. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 97,640.

My transmission is failing and I only have 114000 miles on it. I bought it at 90,000 miles and took it to a mechanic to get a full dignostic and was told the car is in perfect condition. Now the transmission has gone to trash. My engine is still very good and I maintain all fluids, breaks and filters regularly. I’ve seen there was a recall for 2015 civics but for some reason not mine and I find it frustrating because for Honda my car has decently low miles.

Transmission completely went out with no warning or prior issues. I had just had my tire, brakes, oil, and an all around inspection done a week before this happened. I currently have it at a Honda dealership where they can not or will not tell me how this occurred only that I need a brand new transmission.

On Friday, November 17, 2023 around 5 pm, I had come to a stop at a light. I was turning right. As I slowed down I heard a rumble. I thought it was a rumble strip on side of the road. However, as I accelerated and made my right turn, my car felt sluggish from 0-25 mph, was noisy, vibrating, rough and felt like the car was having trouble accelerating. As soon as my spedometer reach 40-50 mph and higher it smoothed out. Once I decreased my speed again, however, the rumble came back started over with acceleration again. No one has looked at it on a lift yet, but have been told from them driving it, sounds like transmission is going out. It shows “0” unrepaired recalls, but I’m wondering now if this one slipped thru the cracks. I am now in desperate need of a new car and still owe a few thousand on this one, as I bought it in 2018, used with 20k miles on it at the time.

After coming to a complete stop at a Stop Sign with the Honda Civil, my husband (he) started to accelerate, but he could only go up to about 20 mph in a 55-mile zone. Next, the car made a bump noise when his foot was on gas pedal. The car went about 100 feet before it started to slow down on a busy highway. The car was not going the speed limit because it couldn't pick up speed. Multiple cars and trucks had to go around. Next, he had to pull over to the shoulder of the road because the car wouldn't pull no matter what gear it was placed in. The car stopped completely, and it had to be tolled home due to inability to move. Langdale Honda was called and asked about a possible recall on the transmission. They said that I would have to pay about $140 for an inspection for the problem.

On 10/8-23 my daughter was driving her 2015 Honda Civic when it suddenly stopped moving forward/not respond to the accelerator. There was no warning light, it simply stopped working. I googled to see if there were any recalls as she only has 112,000 miles on the car and we have it serviced regularly. There is a recall pertaining to a software program for the 2014-2015 Civics, but when I enter our VIN #, it shows that there is no recall. I would assume that our car fell under the recall as what happened is exactly what is stated in the recall notice. We never received a recall notice and our Honda dealership never notified us of a recall. I do believe this is an error on Honda's part as the recall is what happened to our vehicle. Now, we are having to put almost $7,000 into this car when we should have been warned about this even if our "VIN" is not in this as it apparently should be. I have read online so many others that were trapped into this expense without having any notice. Again, Honda should expand this recall and us that were not given the opportunity to help prevent this should be compensated in some way. After turning on to a 4 lane highway, my car lost power and would not run over 40 miles per hour. This put me into a very dangerous situation as you can imagine. I will be finding someone to look at it tomorrow, however, this exact issue is described in the recall CVT transmission recall but ironically, this car does not appear to be included in the recall. There were absolutely no warning lights when this happened.

On 7/20/2023 I was idling/stopped in traffic waiting to move forward to turn left at stop light. I decided to move my car to the right and go around the lane turning left and turn at the next light. I accelerated to go forward and it didn't but at the same time I hear a VERY loud crashing type of noise. I thought someone had hit me from the rear. I put my car in park and went to 'look at the damage to the car' and realized no one had hit me. I was a bit puzzled and went back to my car and tried to move forward. The car was running but I could not move it at all - neither R or D would work. I kind of figured it was the transmission since I couldn't move the car but the engine was still going. It also wouldn't HOLD park so I had to use my emergency brake. I have never had any concerns/problems with my transmission. There were no lights that went on in the car. The car was towed to a garage where I was told upon inspection that my transmission had indeed failed. I was also told that transmission problems have plagued 2014 and 2015 Honda Civics - although my car was not recalled. SAFETY? I had my 90 year mother in the car and thank the Lord it didn't happen when I was driving at a higher rate of speed. As it was, I was stuck in the middle of a lane during rush hour traffic and unable to move my car. A very kind woman stopped and we got my mother out of the car and into safety into her van.

After owning my car for 2 years I got curious about transmission fluid and wanted to check it, when I couldn't find I went to Google and discovered I had a plug and no dipstick, I Googled where the plug was located and found out it was missing either since I bought it or sometime it came out in the first 2 years. I just got through going through forums and group discussions and I've learned that this is an extremely extremely extremely common issue and people's transsmissions are failing while driving and locking up the front wheels. My car stopped accelerating while on the interstate and required a tow on the shoulder of a 65-MPH highway. The vehicle and component issues were confirmed by my local Honda dealership. No. There were two warning messages that populated immediately as the car died. By that time it was to late and the vehicle was inoperable. No other warning messages or lamps prior to the incident. My VIN is associated with a previous safety recall (15V-574) that was issued for the same year, make, and model of vehicle. My VIN is identical to the range provided down to the production number. I believe that it is not a coincidence that it was manufactured in the same place and time down to the week of vehicles identified in that recall down to the production number, that is only barely out of range.

For the second time in 6 months, my car has malfunctioned at a stop light. Both times, the vehicle was unresponsive when I tried to go from fully stopped at a red light. The passenger side drive shaft or axle snapped in half due to excessive rusts under the vibration dampener. I was accelerating from a red light while going uphill, heard a clunk, all of a sudden car would not go forward or go into park. I had to hit the brakes to avoid rolling backwards and hitting a car behind me. Then I had to put it in neutral to get to a safe area and get my car towed. The car has about 51,000 mi on it. We are in Pennsylvania so we do get a lot of road salt, still it doesn't seem like this should have failed just driving forward. The portion of the axle under the dampener was clearly quite tapered due to chronic rusting, finally just snapped where it was so thin. It appears that the dampener traps salt and moisture against the shaft.

Noticed at around 58,000 miles my trans fluid fill plug kept popping out, I cleaned the vent cap and that helped for a few weeks. Back to popping out time after time. I did a trans fluid change the first time I noticed it. Still kept popping out. Now the transmission is starting have little shimmies or slips, I’ve notice it more and more. There’s no good reason this should be happening to a vehicle with 60,000 miles on it, it absolutely has to be some kind of recall or manufacturer defect. Please advise.

Under 78,000 miles just out of warranty, bought certified used in 2016. Car randomly started shaking/jerking when slowly accelerating. I thought I had a flat tire. Tires were fine and shaking went away as I went up to higher speeds. Progressively got worse throughout the day, more shaking and jerking and then wasn’t shifting at higher speeds. Check emission and transmission warnings popped up. I immediately took to a small shop who said they didn’t have the tech to properly diagnose the transmission issue. They took it for a test drive after clearing the computer and transmission went capoot. Towed to Honda and they said transmission bad, lots of broken metal inside. $7200 before tax for a fix. They’ve offered me $2000 to help cover cost but still outrageous. My VIN wasn’t part of the recall. Car isn’t even paid off, this is insanity. Honda is supposed to be reliable.

Software glitch fried the transmission on the spot. Without warning all warning lights came on (engine, brake, power steering, tpms, etc.) then the car immediately lost all power. It is clear to me and others that had this same issue, that the software has a glitch that increases hydraulic fluid in the transmission case tenfold, leading to immediate failure. All maintenance had been meticulously maintained. Honda charged me 9000 dollars for a new transmission. How do you hold the customer responsible for a software issue? A class action suit is needed. I was the biggest honda fanboy out there...not anymore. It had 118000 miles at time of incident.

The transmission failed; however, no code or warning appeared to indicate there was a problem. The only indication that there was an issue, we’re problems with acceleration. This was meant to be our newer reliable family vehicle for which we drive our two year old son in. Had the car broken down the wrong place and wrong time it could put our son and others in danger. Some sort of code should have appeared to indicate there was an issue before the transmission failed prematurely. The car had just a little over 100,000 miles when the transmission failed. The car was evaluated at a Honda service shop in Annapolis MD (west street). They determine the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. I suspect that 2015 Honda civics have transmission problems and defects. Although our VIN number is not associated with the 2014-2015 Honda Civic recalls, those recalls were transmission related issues. I don’t know that it is a coincidence, I suspect this year, make and model produced defective transmissions. The most concerning part is that no code nor check engine light appeared to warn us of the transmission issue. The car is currently in an transmission auto shop (glen Burnie, MD) waiting for a used transmission to be installed. It may take two to three weeks for the repairs.

My transmission failed because the transmission fill plug came off at some point during my commute. I had no idea the cap had come off until my transmission stopped shifting properly which is very scary when you are on the highway and are trying to reach safe highway speeds. The next morning, I pulled out of my parking space and was able to pull through my apartment gates without any indications of issues shifting until I stopped at my stop sign. Upon acceleration, my car only had enough acceleration to put me right in the middle of the road. Thankfully it was an early Saturday morning or that would have been even more dangerous. I put it in on the S level to have more control of my low gear and I was barely able to get back to my apartment and could not go more than 5 mph. This was very scary because I knew nobody around that could help me. Imagine if this was late at night or in a more dangerous part of town. No service engine light has ever came on. I get the proper and routine oil changes and also rotate my tires. I bought the car in 2018 as a certified preowned Honda with 33k miles and now it has 95k.The technician at HONDA informed me he has frequently seen this issue with CVT transmission from Honda as the fill plug likely comes off due to the internal forces from the transmission when driving. The technician also informed me that there was no way I could know that the fill plug came off until the complications I had started. A complaint about the $7000 dollar repair to Honda corporate has been filed (I have a warranty for powertrain, but was denied because the fill plug is conveniently not covered by the warranty.) Overall, I am scared that even when this is fixed, that it will happen again. This issue is already happening to others and it has the potential to cause injury. This issue has been inspected by Honda and my insurance. There is no damage that has been identified by either party to have caused this issue other than fill plug being dislodged.

This is the 2nd Honda Civic Si that I bought first one was a 2013 and the one I have now is a 2015, I've researched this continuing problem and have found that many other Civic Si's are having this issue as well, when releasing clutch in first gear there's a grinding or clutch spring or clutch fly wheel noise that sounds like it's grinding or making a vibrational noise now when I first heard the issue in my 2013 I didn't put much thought into it, after hearing it more n more I took it into Honda and they told me they couldn't hear the noise so I let it go after a few years I bought a 2015 Civic Si and now this Si is making the same noise in the clutch area when releasing the clutch out of 1st gear, I don't know how in a 2 year difference that the clutch would be making the same noise, this needs to be taken care of it can't be that it's a driver error since many other drivers of this type of vehicle are also complaining of hearing this issue, I would like an investigation started on this to see if the manual transmission that's being used is faulty.

The transmission fill plug popped out and was laying right next to the fill hole on the engine. Transmission fluid leeked from the engine and has damaged/compromised the transmission.

The transmission cap is a major flaw in this design (Honda Civic 2015) . As you can tell by the pictures the vehicle is clearly losing transmission fluid and possibly leaving it open to exposure of debris. There is also no dipstick so you can't tell where the fluid level is.

Noticed the CVT transmission fill plug laying on top of the transmission. Put the CVT fill plug back in and drove 30 min to destination. Parked at destination and checked fill plug to see it laying on top of the transmission again.

Found a plug sitting on top of my transmission while checking my engine oil, wiper fluid, etc. The hole it came out of is surrounded in fluid. I was parked in a walmart parking lot in midday when I found it.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 honda civic. The contact stated that after stopping and attempting to move off, the vehicle hesitated upon depressing the accelerator pedal without warning.

Transmission is trying to catch up with every gear change I make. When trying to accelerate the car makes a sound. The car is still stationary.

CVT transmission is shot.

The car started to shake like it wanted to stop but it was still moving and then it shook hard and then the engine remained running and it lost acceleration and stopped in the road.

I was driving down a 35 MPH road and all of a sudden the car stopped moving. I had to push it to the side of the road I tried to put the cat in drive and reverse still nothing. I'm so glad I wasn't going faster than 35mph cuz that would have been scary if it did that while I was doing 65 or 75mph on the highway.

The internal shaft of the transmission failed on my 2015 honda civic which was under recall for this exact issue at 61k miles on a road trip, the car was under warranty when we left for a road trip, on our way back home this happened. Honda has been of no help to me in this situation with a case manager telling me "thats not my problem".

My transmission drive pulley shaft feels damaged, it may break, the vehicle may looses acceleration and it keeps sticking

I was driving on the highway and traffic was slowing down. I was going about 35 MPH. All of a sudden, it felt like I was driving on a rough road.

I was reversing from a parking spot and when I shifted the car into drive, I recall hearing a snap and the car went about two feet before I lost all acceleration.

Vehicle mileage: 73,835 description: october 27th, my transmission seems to have expired at 73,835 miles. I was sitting still in the turn lane of a 4-lane highway waiting to turn left. When I pushed the gas I heard a thump.

The transmission drive pulley shaft is damaged, I was driving on the freeway and the car locked up and braked and the front wheels locked up. This is bad luckily I was on a deserted freeway and no one was behind me. This is dangerous.

Put the gear in park. Left car running, while I had to manually close the garage door. Car started moving and damaged the wooden back wall of the garage.
