THE HOOD LATCH HAS BROKEN THROUGH NORMAL USE. THE BOTTOM PIECE THAT SECURES TO THE FRAME OF THE CAR BROKE AT THE SCREWS THAT SECURE IT. IS THIS SOMETHING THAT IS COVERED THROUGH A SAFETY ISSUE OR WARRANTY? I CAN'T ATTACH A PICTURE OR DOCUMENTATION, BECAUSE CURRENTLY MY HOOD IS BEING HELD DOWN BY STRAPS ON THE INSIDE. I HAD NOTICED THE HOOD LIFTING UP WHILE DRIVING AND DISCOVERED THE PROBLEM AFTER OPENING THE HOOD.
THE CLEAR COAT IS PEELING ALL OVER THE BODY OF THE VEHICLE. IT STARTED ABOUT 2 YEARS AND A HALF AGO. I KNOW THIS VEHICLE HAD A RECALL FOR THIS IN THE 2006 MODEL AND THINK IT SHOULD BE EXTENDED.
PAINT IS PEELING FROM THE ROOF...HONDA AMERICAN SAID NO HELP CAUSE OF THE AGE....BUT ONLY 38K AND GARAGE KEPT IT SHOULD NEVER PEEL NO MATTER WHAT AGE AND EXCELLENT CONDITON OF THE VEHICLE
I'VE BEEN NOTICING THAT THE PAINT ON MY CAR IS SLOWLY PEELING OFF OF MY HOOD, ROOF AND TRUNK. THE HOOD IS THE WORST. IS THERE ANY WAY THAT THIS CAN BE FIXED? THIS IS NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR.
TRUNK LID LATCH MALFUNCTION. LID DOES NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY CAUSING IT TO OPEN WHEN SEATS & WINDOWS ARE DOWN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE NYLON INSIDE THE LATCH HAS WORKED IT'S WAY OUT CAUSING THE LATCH TO BIND AND NOT CLOSE PROPERLY, THUS MAKING THE TRUNK NOT ACTUALLY LOCKED. IS A SECURITY RISK AND ALSO A SAFETY HAZARD TO OTHERS ON THE ROAD. IF YOU HAD A LOT OF BELONGINGS IN THE TRUNK THEY WOULD BE SCATTERED ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGERS SIDE DOOR FAILED TO OPEN FROM OUTSIDE AND INSIDE. IN ADDITION, THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR LATER FAILED TO OPEN FROM THE INTERIORS AND EXTERIOR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
I WAS SITTING IN STOPPED CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC ON 52 NORTH AT THE MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. EXIT WHEN THE CONCREAT WAS SLUNG OVER THE DIVIDER WALL WHERE THE CONSTRUCTION WAS BEING DONE AND IT SPLATTERED ON MY CAR HITTING THE HOOD, WIND SHIELD, TOP OF CAR AND THE SIDES.
HONDA IS REFUSING TO FIX THE CLEAR COAT ISSUE ON THE 05 CIVICS. IT STARTS OFF AS A LIGHT AREA USUALLY ON THE ROOF OF THE CAR AND THEN SPREADS. THE CLEAR COAT IS NOW GONE FROM ALMOST HALF OF THE ROOF AND HAS STARTED ON THE TRUNK LID AND DOORS OF THE CAR. CUSTOMER SERVICE TOLD ME THAT AFTER 10 YEARS THEY EXPECT ALL CARS SHOULD BE REPAINTED AND THAT IT WAS MY JOB TO HAVE THAT DONE. SINCE THIS PROBLEM STARTED 3-4 YEARS AGO AND I HAVE TRIED ALL I COULD TO STOP IT AND CORRECT THE ISSUE I'M PRETTY SURE THE FAULT LIES WITH HONDA AND THE PAINT/CLEAR THEY USED. AFTER BEING TOLD THAT THEY ONLY EXPECT THEIR PAINT TO LAST 10 YEARS THEY HAVE LOST A CUSTOMER. *TR
WATER IS LEAKING INTO FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE OF CAR (ONTO FLOOR, CARPET). WOLCHASE HONDA DID NOT FIND PROBLEM BUT TOLD ME IT WAS WINDSHIELD. I PURCHASED A NEW WINDSHIELD AT AUTO GLASS PLACE BUT STILL HAD WATER FROM RAIN RUNNING INTO MY CAR. THE GLASS TECHNICIAN ACTUALLY FOUND LEAK AFTER RETURNING, ROOF OF CAR NOT WELDED TO BODY OF CAR CORRECTLY LEAVING HOLD WHERE WATER IS RUNNING DIRECTLY INTO CAR ON LEFT DRIVER'S SIDE FROM ROOF. THERE IS STRIP OF RUBBER ON EACH SIDE OF TOP OF CAR (UNDER THAT WATER RUNS DIRECTLY DOWN IN CAR FROM HOLE IN METAL ON TOP OF ROOF ON LEFT SIDE NOT SEALED OR WELDED). TECH. DID WATER & AIR TEST,NOT WINDSHIELD. WOLFCHASE HONDA HAD ME WASTING MONEY ON NEW WINDSHIELD WHEN THAT WAS NOT THE PROBLEM. DEALER REFUSED TO EVEN LOOK AT CAR EVEN AFTER I TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM WAS FOUND HOW WATER WAS GETTING INTO CAR. SERVICE MGR. DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH ISSUE BECAUSE HE SAYS OLDER CAR & OUT OF WARRANTY. TRUNK ALSO LEAKS RAIN (RUST IN TRUNK & OTHER PLACES ON CAR. *TR
RAIN BEGINNING 2/1/14 FOR 4 DAYS (1 DAY 3 INCHES OF RAIN) RAIN RAN INTO CAR ON LEFT DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR BOARD SOAKING CARPET & MATS. WENT TO SEVERAL REPAIR SHOPS BUT THEY DID NOT HANDLE WATER LEAKS, WENT TO WOLFCHASE HONDA WHERE I PURCHASED CAR SEPT 2005 SUPPOSEDLY NEW VEHICLE ON WED 2/5/14. AFTER 2 DAYS SAID IT WAS FRONT WINDSHIELD & IT NEEDED TO BE RESEALED . I PURCHASED NEW WINDSHIELD 2/17/14 AFTER CURRENT ONE CRACKED WHEN TRYING TO RESEAL AFTER REMOVING AT AUTO WINDSHIELD CO. RAIN STILL RAN INTO CAR AFTER FREEZING ICE, RAIN, SLEET & SNOW SEVERAL DAYS & NIGHTS 2/22/14 TO 2/25/14. TOOK CAR BACK TO WOLFCHASE HONDA BUT SERVICE MGR. ABDUL JONES DOES NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING SINCE CAR OUT OF WARRANTY, 9 YRS OLD. JONES STATED NHTSA DON'T MEAN NOTHING, DON'T CARE ABOUT NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FOR SAME PROBLEM. WATER LEAKING IN TRUNK SINCE NOV. 2010 (ALSO NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS). I HAVE SPOKEN TO JONES 4 TIMES BUT HE DOES NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING. NOT ABLE TO REACH GEN. MGR. OF DEALER. PLEASE INVESTIGATE, DO RECALL. CAR NOT DESIGNED OR MADE CORRECTLY. HOLE IN ROOF (NOT WELDED TO BODY RIGHT) WHERE RAIN RUNS DIRECTLY INTO CAR (SOURCE FOUND BY AUTO GLASS SHOP NOT DEALER). I SPENT MONEY ON WINDSHIELD BUT IT WAS NOT THE ISSUE AS TOLD TO ME BY DEALER. DEFECTIVE VEHICLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 HONDA CIVIC. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING ONTO THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD AREA. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT WATER WAS LEAKING INTO THE TRUNK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE BUT STATED THAT THE WATER COULD HAVE BEEN SEEPING IN THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. THE WINDSHIELD WAS REPLACED BUT FAILED TO CORRECT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 166,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 169,000. *TR
PAINT IS PEELING AWAY ON THE CAR FOR NO APPARENT REASON. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE HONDA'S WITH SAME ISSUE. *TR
CLEAR COAT IS PEELING OFF MY 2005 HONDA CIVIC AT AN ACCELERATED RATE SINCE LAST YEAR. THE RESULTING PATTERN IS DISTRACTING (AND EMBARRASSING) TO MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS. *TR
HONDA CIVIC PAINT IS PEELING, FADING, COMING OFF TO BARE METAL. TWO BODY SHOPS HAVE TOLD ME NOT ENOUGH CLEARCOAT ON INITIAL PAINTING OF VEHICLE. *TR
PAINT IS PEELING FROM THE BODY OF THE CAR AT THE DOORS AND PAINT CLEAR COAT IS DISAPPEARING. *TR
WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, I NOTICED A MEDIUM SIZED PUDDLE AHEAD - IN MY EXIT LANE. I SLOWED DOWN TO APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, BUT HAD NO CHOICE OTHER THAN TO GO THROUGH THE PUDDLE. UPON DOING SO, THE FRONT PORTION OF THE PLASTIC COVER THAT GOES ACROSS THE BOTTOM UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR BECAME UNHOOKED AND BEGAN DRAGGING ON THE GROUND. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE NEAREST DEALER. THEY PLACED THE CAR UP ON THE RACK AND SHOWED ME THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR - THE PLASTIC PIECE HAD CRACKED AND BROKEN AWAY FROM THE CLIPS THAT HOLD IT INTO PLACE. THE DEALER REFUSED TO ISSUE A WARRANTY REPAIR ON THIS PART, STATING THAT IT WAS DUE TO MY NEGLIGENCE. WHEN I ASKED THEM WHAT I HAD DONE THAT WAS NEGLIGENT THEY POINTED ME TO THE SCRAPES AND SCRATCHES ON THE PLASTIC AND SAID THAT I HAD OBVIOUSLY DRIVEN OVER THINGS (CURBS/SPEED BUMPS/ETC) THAT WERE TOO TALL FOR MY VEHICLE TO CLEAR. THIS IS NOT THE CASE - IT SEEMS TO ME MORE LIKE A CASE OF CHEAP PLASTIC NOT BEING ABLE TO WITHSTAND DRIVING THROUGH A PUDDLE! WHEN I EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT THE SCRATCHES CAME FROM DRIVING FROM THE PUDDLE TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY HAD NO REPLY OTHER THAN TO TELL ME THAT I COULD ORDER A PART AND PAY FOR SERVICE/LABOR. I DECLINED, AND CURRENTLY HAVE THE BOTTOM RIGGED ON WITH INDUSTRIAL ZIP TIES, AS I PAY ENOUGH FOR THE CAR TO BEGIN WITH. *NM
