THE MIDDLE REAR SEATBELT FAILS TO LOCK WHEN RETRACTED, THEREFORE I CANNOT USE MY GRANDCHILD'S BOOSTER SEAT. THE DEALERSHIP HAS ORDERED A REPLACEMENT, BUT COST NEARLY $300. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE NEW IN DECEMBER 2018, BUT HAVE NEVER HAD TO USE THE REAL SEATBELT UNTIL NOW. THEREFORE I DID NOT KNOW IT DID NOT WORK PROPERLY UNTIL NOW.
The contact owns a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the seat belt straps for the rear driver’s and passenger’s side seats would no longer retract and were stuck between the seat cushions. The cause of the failure was not determined however, the local dealer informed the contact that the seat belt retractors were likely defective and would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.
Driver's side seat belt receptacle does not hold. It is difficult to get seatbelt to latch properly. Sometimes it latches and releases later. Dealer confirmed seat belt receptacle needed to be replaced.
THE BACK MIDDLE SEATBELT BROKE SHORTLY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW.
