VEHICLE STARTS, RUNS FOR A FEW MINUTES, STARTS RUNNING ROUGH, MISSING, AND THEN ABRUPTLY STALLS, NO SPUTTER OR ANYTHING. AFTER THIS HAPPENS IT WILL NOT START AGAIN FOR A WHILE, SOMETIMES HOURS.

MY VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A FAULTY FUEL CONTROL MODULE FAILURE PER THE GM RECALL BULLETIN 14515B FOR PN 20759945, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON 8-16-17. THE VEHICLE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING WHILE IN MOTION. NO INJURIES OR ACCIDENT ACCORDED AT THE TIME, BUT WE WERE STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. ACCORDING TO THE RECALL BULLETIN, THIS RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC AND MY VEHICLE'S VIN WAS NOT A PART OF THIS RECALL. I BELIEVE THAT PER PAGE 3 OF THE RECALL DOCUMENT, MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL AS I HAD TO REPLACE THIS EXACT DEFECTIVE PART IN MY VEHICLE AS OUTLINED IN THE RECALL NOTICE. I HAVE REGISTERED A COMPLAINT WITH GMC UNDER SERVICE CASE # [XXX] TODAY AND WAS DIRECTED BY CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT ([XXX] EXT. [XXX]) TO CONTACT THIS AGENCY TO REQUEST THAT MY VEHICLE BE INCLUDED AS PART OF THIS RECALL AS THE SPECIFIC PN THAT WAS UNDER THIS RECALL WAS FOUND TO BE DEFECTIVE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. ATTACHED IS THE ACTUAL RECALL BULLETIN 14515B, HIGHLIGHTED WITH AFFECTED RECALL PN, MY VEHICLE MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR AS WELL AS A COPY OF THE REPAIR INVOICE FROM THE GM DEALER THAT I PAID $596.18 FOR AN ITEM THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED UNDER THIS RECALL. AS A LONG TIME GM CUSTOMER, I WOULD APPRECIATE ANY ASSISTANCE YOUR AGENCY COULD/WOULD PROVIDE ON MY BEHALF. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY OPEN RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 84,240.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT FUEL INJECTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,844. ON JUNE 5 2014 WE WERE TRAVELING AT 60 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE SHTDOWN ACTING LIKE IT WAS OUT OF GAS, THERE WAS A FULL TANK , THE IGNITION STARTED TO STICK, WE BROUGHT IT TO A MECHANIC JUNE 12 ON JULY 9 THEY CONTACTED ME SAYING THEY COULD NOT FIX IT AND STILL CHARGED 700 PLUS DOLLARS SAYING BRING IT TO A DEALER SO THEN WE TOWED IT TO PEIRCE CHEVROLET NOW WAITING DINO AGAIN. *TR

HIT A POTHOLE FULL OF WATER WITH RIGHT REAR TIRE WHILE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. THE WATER SPLASHED UP AND ENTERED INTO THE FUEL SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE THROUGH A POOR SEAL CAUSING THE UNIT TO SHUT OFF FUEL TO THE TRUCK. TRUCK STALLED OUT AND WOULD NOT RESTART BLOCKING TWO LANES OF TRAFFIC. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS LIT, AND THE TRUCK HAD THE FOLLOWING CODES SET: P069E, P0231, P025A, P064A. I HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO HAYDOCY GMC AND THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A FAULTY FUEL SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE. THEY REPLACED AND REPROGRAMMED THE NEW UNIT TO THE TRUCK. THEY RETURNED THE DEFECTIVE PART TO ME AT MY REQUEST AND IT WAS DRIPPING WATER OUT OF THE SEAL. THIS IS SIMILAR TO RECALL 09V154000 FOR SIMILAR 2009 GM VEHICLES THAT WERE ASSEMBLED IN LATE 2008 JUST LIKE MY TRUCK IN WHICH THE SEAL WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD ALLOW WATER TO SEEP INTO THE FUEL SYSTEM CONTROL MODULE. I BELIEVE THIS RECALL SHOULD HAVE INCLUDED ADDITIONAL VEHICLE MODELS INCLUDING THE GMC SIERRA. I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO PROVIDE ANY DOCUMENTATION, PICTURES, OR PARTS NECESSARY TO ASSIST. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2009 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE IGNITION, THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED CONTINUOUSLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THE FUEL VENT SOLENOID VALVE WAS FAULTY AND THAT THE FUEL TANK COULD POSSIBLY EXPLODE DUE TO THE BUILD UP OF THE VAPORS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED TO ASSIST WITH REPAIR COSTS. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,886. UPDATED 04/30/13*LJ

THROTTLE BODY UNIT ON 2009 GMC SIERRA TRUCK BURNED OUT & NEEDED REPLACING AT 38 THOUSAND MILES. GMC PAID FOR MY REPAIR AFTER MANY CONVERSATIONS WITH THEM, EVEN THO THEY STATED IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. I PUT THE MONEY OUT TO HAVE IT FIXED, THEY ARE REIMBURSING ME VIA CHECK TO MY HOME ADDRESS. MY CO-WORKER HAD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO HIM ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, HIS THROTTLE BODY UNIT BURNED OUT ON HIS CHEVY SILVERADO, HIS IS OUT OF WARRANTY AS WELL, HIS TRUCK IS ONLY 3 YEARS OLD. HE WAS TOLD WHEN HE WENT TO GET HIS REPAIRED THE PART WAS ON A NATIONAL BACK ORDER. THIS SOUNDS LIKE THESE ARE GOING BAD ALL OVER!!! *TR
