Your fuel injectors may be malfunctioning, causing your engine to shake or misfire when you start it, and occasionally stall on the first attempt (though it usually starts normally on the second try). This issue is covered under a Ford recall because faulty injectors can allow fuel to accumulate on top of the engine, creating a potential fire hazard under the hood. The symptoms have been getting worse over time, and an independent mechanic believes this is a known injector defect. The fix will likely involve Ford replacing or cleaning the fuel injectors and inspecting fuel system components as part of the recall service.
