2016 Dodge Journey Electrical Problems

I bought the car in 2019 . Since purchasing it has had electrical issues. The AC blew hot air, the rear windows did not work, the center console USB plug caught fire, the lights on dash flicker.

Was driving car after cleaning it had a box in trunk that barely took a portion of the trunk up. While drive smelt smoke and electrical smell and my trunk was on fire inside. Pulled over and the back hatch inside got so hot from what I can only guess was electrical that the box caught fire.

I’m having the same issues as other Dodge journeys from earlier models that had the recall on the engine for the Rocker arms, lifters, and camshaft. Almost causing me to have an accident inside the highway due to my car, reducing speed from 65 To 15 MPH on the expressway as well my vehicle Starting to shake very badly.

Sometimes when I turn my car on the front screen won’t turn on it will stay black, when I go to back up my rear view camera won’t work, sometimes my two front windows won’t roll down, my defroster won’t turn on in the front, my blowers used to work where I was able to switch them to defrost, just face, or feet but it’s just stuck on one setting and my passenger side blows hot air when the AC is on.

I was traveling on the highway when the vehicle suddenly, without warning, stalled and stopped running. I was able to cruise until the vehicle completely stopped. I was able to restart the engine by pushing the "start" button to off and then pushing my brake and the engine restarted successfully where I can drive to the shoulder off the road.

Drivers side window switch would not work every once in a while. Then started making clicking noise and not working. Will not control any windows and no windows will go up or down.

Vehicle was stationary and remote started for about 5 minutes. We loaded up our children in the car and started smelling a strong plastic/rubber burning smell that stings in the throat. The smell was coming out of the heat vents, could be smelled outside the car and under the hood.

Vehicle not used 4 days, tried to start, the battery totally discharged, zero volts measured with a voltmeter. Several months after having new tires put on my SUV, I noticed the service AWD, traction control, and ABS lights were on continuously on my panel when in motion and upon learning the ignition button. While driving my 2016 Journey in Raleigh, N.C. the vehicle was working fine until I came to a stop sign and it stalled. I was able to start it up and luckily no vehicle was behind me the first time it occurred.

The battery fuse keeps blowing out truck won't stop running internal electrical systems killing battery popping fuses,AC thermostat system after being turned off keeps turning itself back on over and over won't stay off ,after replacing battery in remote truck driver side door fails to open or unlock only passenger side works,truck won't acknowledge fully new battery in remote to start truck ,locks me out of truck and doesn't honk to tell me keys are inside anymore ,cruise control will not cancel , transmission pump fails causing stalling in gear not shifting gears properly jumping out of gear.

Around 11 mths ago.preston dealership replaced 3 censors but still engine light came on .

On july 22, 2017, I tried to start my car and it wouldn't start. I called a tow truck company and they tried to charge the vehicle to no avail. They towed the vehicle to kendall dodge chrysler and jeep.

I believe the 2016 Dodge Journeys should be included in the 15V675000 recall. My passenger side floorboard was wet, mechanic changed filter but water can still be heard sloshing in the car. Since then, emergency brake, and check engine light will randomly turn on while I’m driving.

The wiring harness on the driver door, is a piece of crap. Cheap china thin wire. Breaks it's terrible.

The issues started after the recall for the speed control computer flash was done, about 2 weeks after I noticed that my rear wiper would only turn on when the car was in reverse. If I would put the rear wiper switch in the on position nothing would happen.

The drivers side master panel will not allow the windows to roll down. There is a clicking noise when trying to roll down, and a humming noise when trying to roll up. None of the window switches on any of the windows will work now.

With less than 16000 miles have had battery drain down on 3 occasions, in one occasion less than 16 hours parked in a heated garage. Battery discharged to the the point once ignition to start is pressed, lights flicker, clicking sound form engine compartment, wont even stop this action by turning ignition off.

I loose control of the windows most of the time. I had the main window control switch replaced, and the problem still did not go away, please help.

Car has 20k miles, while driving the ABS and traction control lights came on. Dealership discovered that, in addition to the ABS and traction control, the airbags were not working. The dealership informed me that water bottles had rolled under the front passenger seat and broken the wires for the airbags.

The EVIC lights will turn off while driving. Doesn’t matter if it’s daylight or evening. During evening hours it poses a risk due to not seeing speed or any other lights on dashboard.

I received notice of a recall for my vehicle, when reviewing the recall list, I noticed I have issues where all icons come on, and the radio turns channel without selection. I can no longer check the vehicle status (oil level, tire pressure, etc.). I recently completed a scheduled oil change, and the next day received notice the vehicle was due for an oil change.

For several month my brake light would illuminate when I would hit brakes. Then the ABS light and traction control light also came on. Took it to shop and said it was the electric stability control module and dodge journeys are known for this but it only recalls 2012-2015.

Headlights keep flickering while driving and park on high beams and low beams

Throttle computer system. Vehicle would shut down while driving. Skid control turned off.

My car has many electrical problems, the power steering and today the engine burned out, I almost killed myself because the brakes did not respond to me

It just dies and several times it had trouble restarting. This happened over the weekend and then several days later it did it again 3 times in a row.

Engine keeps losing power and dying. Cruise control reves engine to high up and down for now reason on a straight stretch of street when yourturn to the left to sharp the engine dies.

While driving the driver's seat belt keeps coming off. The a/c keeps turning on randomly when I turn it off.

This has been happening for about a month now. While driving my dash board lights go on then off,my radio will turn up by itself, my heat/ AC wont come on. I will have to shut my car off and then back on.for it to work.

The door locks continue to lock even if the key fob is in the vehicle. This happens especially in the mornings when it is cold.
