Open Safety Recalls (4)
NHTSA Campaign: 19V293000
Component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions. The shifter cable bushing may fail allowing the shift cable to detach from the transmission.
Risk: If the shifter cable detaches from the transmission, the vehicle may not perform the shifts performed by the driver. Additionally, despite selecting PARK with the shifter, the vehicle may roll away. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: This recall will be replaced by NHTSA recall number 25V674. Vehicles already repaired under this recall will need to have the new remedy completed. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission side shifter cable bushing, free of charge. The recall began September 5, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V34.
NHTSA Campaign: 15V800000
Component: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM
Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured February 27, 2012 to January 23, 2014 and equipped with either a 2.0L or 2.4L engine. In affected vehicles, engine oil from the vacuum pump may seep into the brake booster, damaging a component within the brake booster.
Risk: Internal damage to brake booster could result in a loss of brake assist, lengthening the distance needed to stop the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake booster grommet for the presence of oil. If no oil is found, the vacuum tube assembly will be replaced. If oil is found, the vacuum pump, vacuum tube assembly, brake booster and master cylinder will be replaced. The recall began on May 9, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R63.
NHTSA Campaign: 15V542000
Component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:CONTROL MODULE (TCM/PCM/TECM)
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured February 24, 2012, to June 16, 2015. The affected vehicles may experience failure of the transmission control module (TCM), causing the transmission to unexpectedly shift into neutral.
Risk: If the transmission shifts into neutral, it can cause loss of motive power, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
Fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the TCM and bracket, free of charge. Chrysler issued an interim notification to owners on October 14, 2015. The recall began on January 15, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R42.
NHTSA Campaign: 25V674000
Component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION:LEVER AND LINKAGE:FLOOR SHIFT
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles. The shifter cable may detach from the transmission, preventing the vehicle from shifting into the park (P) position and causing a loss of park function.
Risk: A loss of park function may allow the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Vehicles that were previously repaired under recall 19V293 will need to have the new remedy completed. The remedy is currently under development. Interim notification letters, explaining the safety risk, were mailed November 6, 2025. A second notice will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is A0C. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will be searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning October 16, 2025.

Your shift cable disconnected while driving, leaving your car stuck in reverse with no way to shift to park or turn off the engine—creating a safety hazard. You had to pay out of pocket to have Dodge replace the shift cable at a repair shop, but then received a recall notice for the exact same problem two days later. Dodge refused to reimburse you because they said there's no official remedy available yet, even though you fixed the recalled component in an emergency situation.

Electrical System →2 issues
Your car's radio won't reliably turn on, the transmission doesn't always shift into park when you want it to, and the ignition key gets stuck in accessory mode instead of locking. These electrical issues suggest a problem with the vehicle's electrical control system that's preventing normal operation of multiple functions. A mechanic will need to diagnose the ignition switch and electrical connections to identify what's causing these intermittent failures.

Engine And Engine Cooling, electrical System →1 issue
Your 2014 Dodge Dart has experienced multiple electrical and engine issues including a non-functioning driver's window, traction control warning light, failure to turn off properly, abnormal engine noise while idling, and excessively high RPM. Additionally, you've noticed oil stains under the vehicle indicating excessive oil consumption, and the fuel door release lever isn't working—requiring you to manually open it from inside the door panel. The dealer inspected the vehicle but didn't perform diagnostics. Repairs may involve diagnosing the electrical system malfunction, inspecting for engine oil leaks, replacing engine seals or gaskets, and repairing the fuel door release mechanism.

Power Train,electrical System,unknown Or Other →1 issue
Your 2014 Dodge Dart may experience multiple electrical and transmission problems, including difficulty shifting into park, a key fob that takes 5-30 minutes to turn off the car, and starting issues that don't show diagnostic trouble codes. You may have already replaced the battery and key fob without resolving the problems. The underlying issue may involve the brake system, transmission, or related components and could require professional diagnosis beyond standard code-reading.

Unknown Or Other, service Brakes →1 issue
Your car sometimes won't shift fully into Park after you park it, and the key fob gets stuck in the ignition so the dashboard lights stay on and drain the battery. After waiting 5-45 minutes, you hear a click and can finally turn off the engine and remove the key. This happens frequently enough to be concerning, especially when you're away from home. You've also noticed that after starting the car and putting it in Reverse, it sometimes tries to back up on its own as if the gas pedal is pressed, even though your foot is on the brake. The dealer's diagnostic scanner found no error codes, and replacing the key fob didn't solve the problem. The issue may be related to a known brake cable recall for your vehicle.

Electrical System,service Brakes,engine →1 issue
Your vehicle is experiencing multiple issues including excessive oil consumption, engine stalling, a blinking mileage display, radio cutting out, a key that won't turn to the off position, difficulty shifting into park, oil pan bolts loosening, and brake shimmy at speeds over 55 mph. A recall has been issued but hasn't resolved these problems. These issues may require diagnosis of the electrical system, engine, and brake components to identify and repair the root causes.

Power Train,electrical System →1 issue
Your key gets stuck in the ignition when the car is in park and won't come out normally. You have to disconnect the negative battery terminal to release it. This suggests an electrical issue with the ignition lock mechanism that needs diagnosis.
