ON JULY 1, 2018, MY SON WAS DRIVING HIS 2006 CHEVY COLORADO ON THE FREEWAY WHEN IT COMBUSTED IN THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE ENGINE AREA. THANKFULLY, HE WAS ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE BEFORE IT BECAME FULLY ENGULFED! THE PICKUP BURNED ENTIRELY, VERY HOT AND VERY QUICK. SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS. I DID CONTACT GM, AS I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN MANY CLAIMS OF FIRE IN THESE VEHICLES. HOWEVER, GM WAS UNWILLING TO PUT EFFORT INTO TRYING TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THIS FIRE THAT ENDANGERED MY SONS LIFE!! I HAVE RECEIVED NO ANSWERS, NO COMPASSION, NO FOLLOW THROUGH. IT IS BEYOND DISAPPOINTING FOR A COMPANY SUCH AS GENERAL MOTORS TO NOT BE DOING A BETTER JOB FOR THEIR CONSUMERS.
DURING A RAIN STORM WATER PUDDLES INSIDE THE VEHICLE. I HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO LOCATE THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK. LOOKING ON LINE TELLS ME LOTS OF THESE TRUCKS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. HOWEVER NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE ORIGIN NOR A SOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM. *TR

I OWN A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO WITH 14,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE TAKEN MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER ON AT LEAST 5 OCCASIONS COMPLAINING OF A TERRIBLE VIBRATION. THE VIBRATION IS HORRIBLE FROM 40-55+ MILES PER HOUR. THE DEALER HAS SO FAR REPLACED THE 2 FRONT TIRES, REPLACED THE AIR INSIDE THE TIRES, ROTATED THE TIRES AND MOST RECENTLY STATED THERE IS NOTHING ELSE THEY CAN DO. AFTER THE LAST VISIT, I SAID THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE TRUCK AND YOU OR GM ARE GOING TO HAVE TO STEP UP AND DO SOMETHING. THIS IS MY ONLY TRANSPORTATION AND I AM VERY NERVOUS ABOUT DRIVING THE TRUCK WITH THIS TERRIBLE VIBRATION. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT ELSE I CAN DO. I THINK A RECALL IS IN THE CARDS, EITHER TO REPLACE THE ALL THE TIRES OR MAKE MODIFICATIONS TO THE TRUCK FRAME, ETC. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT HE RECEIVED ONLY ONE KEYLESS ENTRY FOB FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. HE PLANNED ON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER TO FILE A COMPLAINT ABOUT THE KEYLESS ENTRY DOOR. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. THE VIN AND ENGINE SIZE WERE UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 25,000. *UPDATED 12/12/07 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THERE IS NO WAY TO UNLOCK THE DOOR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND THERE IS NO KEYHOLE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE FOR ENTRY. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET COLORADO. THE CONTACT OPENED THE TAILGATE AND NOTICED THAT ONE SIDE WAS COMPLETELY TIGHT AND THE OTHER SIDE WAS LOOSE. HE FEELS THAT ONE SIDE WILL FAIL SOON SINCE ALL OF THE PRESSURE IS ON ONE SIDE. CHEVROLET ADVISED HIM NOT TO REPAIR IT BECAUSE IT WAS NORMAL WITH HIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. PURCHASED MY 2006 CHEVY COLORADO AND TOOK A ROAD TRIP TO CALIFORNIA AND NOTICED THAT WHEN HITTING THE SPEED OF 65-75 THERE WAS A LOUD AIR SOUND COMING FROM THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW. I TOOK IT IN AND TOLD THE SERVICE ADVISOR AT THE CHEVY DEALER WHAT WAS HAPPENING AND HE CHECKED IT AND SAID THE RUBBER TRIM WAS LOOSE. DROVE IT AGAIN AND IT WAS WORSE, TOOK IT IN AGAIN AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NORMAL TO HEAR SUCH A NOISE WHILE DRIVING. TAKING IT IN AGAIN BECAUSE IT IS SO LOUD IT DRIVES MY CRAZY. *JB
1. VERY THIN METAL, BODY PANELS, ESPECIALLY FRONT FENDERS, MOVE TOWARD HOOD WHILE WAXING FENDERS, LOWER BED SIDES PAPER THIN, BEND VERY EASILY. 2. BAD VIBRATION BETWEEN 52-55 MILES PER HOUR. 3. FRONT BUMPER MISALIGNED FROM FACTORY, HAS A CHIP IN PAINT IN LOWER FRONT FENDERS WHERE AND WHEN BUMPER WAS INSTALLED AT FACTORY, ONE SIDE WAS TOUCHED UP AT FACTORY.4. BED MISALIGNED, TOO FAR TOWARD DRIVERS SIDE.5. INTERIOR VERY CHEAPLY MADE, PLASTIC PANEL BEHIND SEATS (REGULAR CAB) SQUEAKS, RATTLES. THIS TRUCK WAS BOUGHT NEW WITH 33 MILES ON IT, IT NOW HAS 553 MILES ON IT AND I HAVE OWNED IT A MONTH AND A HALF. *JB
