criticalFORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE
Filed: May 2024

Your car's driver assistance package, which you paid extra for, isn't working safely. The lane departure warning and adaptive cruise control systems are malfunctioning — the car veers into other lanes unexpectedly, fails to slow down properly when exiting the highway, and sometimes accelerates dangerously instead of braking. BMW has acknowledged this is a hazard but claims it's a 'system limitation' and won't repair, replace, or refund the feature. Resolving this likely requires BMW to reprogram or replace the driver assistance control module and sensor systems.
