While driving at 55 mph on the highway, your car suddenly veered to the right and became completely uncontrollable — the steering wheel and brakes stopped responding. Your car crossed into the right lane, left the highway, and came to a stop in bushes. You discovered that the left rear wheel had broken off at the axle. This is a critical safety failure that caused loss of vehicle control.
